Hello crafters! I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend! I started today's card by simply embossing a piece of coconut white card with the Rambling Blossoms embossing folder. Next I cut a slightly smaller piece of white card and used the Dorado Gemini Die and cut a decorative edge into each side. While the die was still in place, I inked the area with Shaded Lilac Distress ink, doing one side, then moving the die and doing the other side. I mounted that with foam on to the embossed background. I cut the largest die from the Auckland die set out of white card and added it to the centre of the card. I layered the Maggie die cut out of white and backed in white to that. I stamped a sentiment from the Fabulous Sentiments stamp set by Creative Expressions and added a frame to it using the two circle dies in the Maggie set. I inked them with Shaded Lilac ink then glued it to the sentiment and trimmed around the edge. I mounted it n the centre and added white flatback pearls as accents to the die cuts. Using my piercing ruler and a pokey tool, I added a white paper pierced mat (this is the way that I do it for all of my cards too). I cut a slightly larger mat and inked it with Shaded Lilac to match, then finished the card with a final white mat. The finished dimensions are 7" x 8 1/2" in size. All for now, Sue x

Hello Sue and all
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card, showing again the NEED for an Auckland die and again so glad I got Maggie, one of my new favourite Gotos.
Would have been a perfect crafting weekend, instead my grand calibur broke so have been back on my little cuttlebug. A friend has had a look at the GC and it is sort of saved enough to do my big frames. The worst thing is saving for a new machine means less money for dies for quite a while!!! lol
Hugs for all those not doing the best at the moment,

Hi Sue
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, very pretty lilac.
Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, firstly I wish Mick and everyone who is poorly or suffering a speedy recovery, I do follow their progress on here. As to my wound well Colin says that it is healing really nicely with no leaking today so I have my fingers and toes crossed that I might get a gold star tomorrow at the wound clinic.
ReplyDeleteThank you Pam, Tina, Theresa and everyone who is wishing me well.
Now to today's card, another wow from me Sue, yes love it, how you think up the designs for your dies amazes me, it is not just a 'die' it is a work of art which has so many uses, a big gold star from me on these.
Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Good morning Sue and the happy Wilsonettes,
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful card Sue and one i could see my beloved Auntie Katie with as it just has that delicateness and fragility about it that she did. The shaded lilac distress colour is beautiful in the middle of the gemini panel and around its edges, not too dark. The beautiful feminine aspect of this card just brings back happy memories of a lovely lady who was so much fun to everyone that knew her but who was just so fragile. Thank you Sue for a beautiful card that is just so much like a beautiful lady i was so priviledged to know.
Nanna Tina, i hope when you go in to see your lovely Mick today that he is coming back more to his normal self. An infection can transform the loveliest of people into someone you don't recognise and you just long for them to get well again and be their normal self. He has enough struggles to overcome without a raging infection as well flower. Sending hugs to keep you going and to pick your Mick up a bit too, i hope that you see some of that glint back in those eyes soon.
Well the crime survery lady is here this morning to interview the 3rd initial in my house which just happens to be Rory, so here's hoping he stays on track and doesn't get diverted as he goes through it, lol. Rory very much sees right and wrong but no grey area and can i say get's quite passionate about a topic if he gets his teeth in it. As his headmistress said before he left last year, she hopes that she never meets him as a policeman as she wouldn't get a warning or second chance, hee hee hee. Have a good day everyone with hugs going to all the Wilsonettes and honary Wilsonettes as well who needs, wants or could just do with some, they are their for you,
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil Village)

ReplyDeleteHi Sue, a very busy lacy/frilly card but it all works perfectly. I love the way you have used the Dorado Gemini Die and shaded lilac is one of my most favourite distress inks. Altogether a beautiful card.
ReplyDeleteWish me luck as I go around the neighbourhood this afternoon with pictures of a little cat who thinks he lives with us. If I find his people I will be telling them to have him neutered so he doesn't roam again and will be so much happier. If I can't find them I will have to try and get him to the vet to see if he has been microchipped. Fingers crossed for success.

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!
ReplyDeleteIt seems that I have chosen the perfect day to return to my beloved blog because your offering for today is simply splendid....and whoopee!, I have all of the elements:-) The rambling roses EF is one of my faves, I have yet to use my dorado die but I feel that it is crying out to be christened this week when I get stuck in to some serious Cardmaking, and the same goes for the Auckland die. The Maggie provides the perfect focal point and the colour palette is soft and subtle. I have seriously missed my daily dose of Sue and hearing from my blog buddies, it's wonderful to be back:-)
I have been AWOL now for some time and I can only apologise for not giving my blog duties die care and attention.....I've had a rather nasty spate of seizures so I have been avoiding the iPad like the plague because it merely aggravates it mainly because migraines and fits go hand in hand:-( Feeling much more like myself today though so fingers crossed I'm over the worst of it.
I expect that I've missed so much over the past week but I have tried to catch up a little so that I'm not out of the loop with all the gossip. I see that we still have a few friends absent at the minute like my dear Yvonne, Beth, Rebecca, Wheely bad to name but a few, I sincerely hope that you are all well and if not, that your recovery is swift and you are back with us soonxxx
June, I see too that you are still fighting your infection, it's a nasty little so and so isn't it? I hope that the honey makes a difference and your full recovery is just around the cornerxxx
Nana Tina, you poor soul, I don't know who my heart goes out to more, Mike with his lengthy battle and an infection to boot, or you who has met each setback with love, strength and fortitude...it is sometimes forgotten just how tiring and what an emotional strain it can be travelling to and spending so much time visiting sick loved ones, my own mum has had to do it many times when I have had lengthy hospital stays and it used to exhaust her. I sincerely hope that Mick makes a speedy recovery and that you continue to find the strength to support him in his journey back to healthxxxx
Frances, you are a doll, not many people would take so much care over a waif and stray, I hope you find it's home soon, it breaks my heart to think someone has lost their furry four paws and is out of their mind with worry....been there and it's not pleasant:-( Good luck with your searchxxxx
Maria, thanks for your well wishes and kind thoughts sweetie, it's nice to have someone notice your absence. Hope all is well with you tooxxxx
Dawn, you must be in so much pain right now, my mum has struggled with slipped discs in the past and it's effects can be devastating. Hope that you get a speedy recovery because that's half the battlexxxx
Love and hugs to any friends that I have failed to mention including Theresa, jan, P, pat, Pam Tracy , Lorraine F and the two Linda'sxxx
