Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi bloggers!  How about a  milk and sky blue card combo for today's giveaway card?  It is a lovely, soothing colour combination I think!  I started with the New Zealand Background cut out of milk card.  I attached a piece of sticky adhesive sheet to the back and sprinkled Diamond Snow over the front cut out areas, then added a piece of Sky Blue card to the back by just peeling the other side of the sticky sheet and attaching it.  I used the inner cutting die to cut an aperture out of the centre.  I added mounting foam to the back to raise it for dimension.  Next, I cut two Milford Adornments in milk card and added them to the aperture so that the straight edge was even with the lines at the top of the aperture.  I stamped my sentiment and added some texture by running it through the Daisy Burst embossing folder.  I cut a frame out of sky blue card by using the matching inside dies from the background and the Wellington shape.  I glued the frame over the sentiment and trimmed away the excess card.  I mounted it in the centre of the aperture and added two Sweetheart flowers as accents.  I completed the card with flatback pearls and my usual piercing and matching matting and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x  8 1/4" in size.  Please leave a comment to be entered into the drawing to win this one! The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post.   All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, this card really did cheer me up this morning when I opened the blog, the colours remind me of Wedgewood displayed on an English kitchen dresser, amazing how these things spring to mind as soon as you see something. The dies cut out so crisp and sharp, you can never go wrong with any of your dies, beautiful

  71. Hi Sue
Well the last couple of days seemed to have missed me by, unless I've been asleep all the time. I really must gave a closer look at the New Zealand die. I didn't realise it cut tiny flowers out, so will go and have a closer look after I've posted. Such a lovely card today as well.
I also seem to have missed seeing the last two days cards as well, which are also lovely.

  72. Good morning Sue and the Wilsonettes,
This is a lovely soothing card in the milk and pale blue Sue as you say and you would think that those sweetheart flowers had been designed to go with this card as they match the flowers die cut into the card by the New Zealand background, lol. I love my little sweetheart flowers dies as they can make so many different flowers or just cut apart to make little hearts. The Wellington die is one of my new favourites as i just got this set when you were on Hochanda last and what a lovely card that they make. The border is stunning with its width and design, it was in use yesterday as i was making a new card and i just love the design that it makes. It is ideal for stretching across a 8x8 card and making a statement all on it's own. Thank you flower for the stunning work that you design and share because even if it's not to our taste that day, that's ok but it gives us more ideas of tweeking it to suit us.
Well my big boy has got college today and my little boy is coming to keep me on my toes for the day while his mummy goes into the University and does another course, this time on mentorship that she needs for her work so that she can take a student nurse under her wing.
Nanna Tina, it is good news that your hubby is being moved now to a rehab ward, he is doing so well but it's a long hard road, but one step at a time and he will come through. Sending hugs your way flower as you seem to need them.
Sharon Casey, glad that you are slowly coming back as i can identify with that loss having lost my beloved mum 18 months ago and still missing her each day. When i lost my daddy i had to cope with mum who had gone some where else, lord knows where and i didn't have that time to grieve for him but losing mum meant i had lost my own entire family, so as i say i can really understand your loss. I hope that you start finding easier days flower, soon. Sending hugs your way just so that you're not alone.
June, enjoy getting back to your craft class today flower, it will do you the world of good being back amongst your friends there and creating something different again. Hugs on their way flower and soon you will be away for a break but i can't remember when so enjoy.
Sending hugs to all who need them or could just do with some, Tracy i hope you're getting ready for your bit time away as well flower as you could really do with a break, so we've put in a message to above for good weather please,
    Love and crafty hugs

  122. What a great card, Sue, and we're treated to that lovely blue again. Who wouldn't want to win this?!
Pat - wishing your granddaughter well, do remember the anxiety of the last time she had an op.
Lorraine F - congrats on being a Greatgrandmother, what a shock, that birth will always be a talking point!
Nanna Tina - has to be good news about the rehab, let's hope your husband is well on the road to recovery and home again soon.
Good wishes to all the poorly people and family members having a tough time.

    'P' in Wales

Pet friends - Miss Pushy deteriorated quite suddenly and yesterday evening was the right time to let her go. Just me and the vet (Mr P for once could not face being there) she was expertly put to sleep in my arms - unknowing, unstressed, quickly and painlessly, purring all the while. Kept strong for her then wept buckets. After her (and her siblings) terrible start in life, she blossomed into the most extraordinary little character. Having many pets, there is always a dynamic to their interaction, but Push loved and was loved by everyone. They were all her friends. We were so lucky to have shared her life and she is right up there in the top ten with H, Floosie, Squizzit, Louis the Sun King, Archer and so many more. What a cat!! So very special.
Of course, adrenaline and grief kept me sleepless - himself snored and our sleep-on-the-bed girl Mimi was in and out under the duvet as she knew I was awake. Can't stop crying, we'll miss her so much. We have her sisters Nuff-Nuff and Softly and her two brothers Stevie and Coco live a charmed life with our lovely next neighbours over the fields.

  123. Hi Sue. It seems my early 6.20 comment went back to bed ! Lucky comment ay ?
Anyway, let me see if my brain can remember what I wrote in my sleep.
I don't feel so daft now calling certain cards soothing now you've mentioned soothing colour's and this card is no exception. It's gorgeous Sue.
I'm sure I've seen it during a show being held up and thought then just how pretty it is. Well we have our anniversary next month so it's time I placed an * next to these (mine and the 'keeper/gaffer's code of prioritising the dies I'd like before others on his list) lol, but how do you prioritise so many favourites ?
Well whoever receives this card through the post they will have a small piece of summer delivered with it too as it really is a fresh but soothing summery beautiful work of art.
I hope you managed your craft group this morning June and by the pretty flowers you received from your ladies not only have you been missed they will be so happy to have you back (hope you're not paying for it now) and resting.
I will remember to keep 'refreshing' this time, and wish for you a nicer day than I'm having today Sue xxx

  125. Hi Sue, please forgive me but I must reply -

'P' in Wales - So sorry, Miss Pushy has always sounded adorable and it is no surprise that you wept buckets. Purring to the end sounds like my Charlie who went to sleep 6 years ago, they are amazing creatures aren't they. I know you will miss her so much and I expect Mimi and the others will try and console you because they will miss her also, just be glad for the time you shared.

  142. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

This creation is a work of art, everything from the colour palette....love the combo of milk and pale blue.....to the design, to the dies used is perfectly thought out and put together. The New Zealand background is one of my faves, I really love the pinpoint effect and the floral cut outs, there is nothing quite like it in your range....how do you do that? You have a limitless imagination and design flair that us mere mortals can only gawp at in awe.....the aperture is a lovely touch accented with the Milford adornment, another that I have to add to my arsenal, and the sweetheart flowers are the perfect finishing touch.
Felt very industrious today and spent the afternoon doing bits and bobs in my craftroom....made some budded flowers and stick pins, had more glue on me and my desk than on any of the flowers and pins though, it's very fiddly but well worth the effort. I've decided to use them on my brothers birthday card,,,,shocking I know, but I'm using tones of caramel and chocolate brown to man it up ever so slightly and my brother actually doesn't object to some subtle bling as long as the card isn't pink like last years:-)
Hoping the Mediterranean weather reaches central Scotland this week, it's very nice down South so the weatherman tells me but it never seems to creep north of the Border:-( I'm fed up with the house being Arctic temperatures with the windows wide open for Brodies convenience, multi layering is the order of the day but he's really going to have to learn to knock the door like Darcey before the Autumn arrives again!
Speaking of fur babies, P, I was very sad to hear of Miss Pushys passing, you are understandably distraught. It's the hardest thing we ever have to do when we take them to be put to sleep, it's the kindest option but heartbreaking and we owe it to them to be there holding them in their final moments:-( She brought you so much love and was obviously a sweet natured puss, it can be a blessing to have others to comfort us during the difficult times and you certainly have many to choose from thankfully. What fabulous names you have for your babies:-) Thinking of youxxxxx
Jackie, what dreadful news for your daughter, 16 is so young to be battling with such a terrible condition, I don't know how debilitating it can be but my hope is that it doesn't spoil what should be a happy, fun filled time in her lifexxxx
June, hope you enjoyed your craft class, it's always good to throw yourself into some crafting when you've been through the millxxxx
Cuddles to our missing friends, Yvonne, Beth, Wheely bad, Linda, Rebecca, melody and anyone struggling right now.

Thank you for showing us this beautiful card it really brightened my day after a bad start. I managed to scratch my car my fault then tried to shut the car boot with my head in the way. I then read your blog, there are so many of you fighting through pain and sadness with such courage I realised scratches can soon be fixed, my headache will soon fade

  152. Hi Sue. What a fab card today !!! I have just made a similar card myself !!! I tried to make the card you posted on your blog to launch the New Zeland Background die set !!! I absolutely love it !!! Today's one is just as gorgeous. I love your blue and white colour combo. I think the background die is really beautiful and I am so pleased I have it. I have just finished my Wedding card today using your New Zeland Aukland, New Zeland Hamilton, and your amazingly gorgeous (which I think has become one of my new favourite dies) your New Zeland wide border die !!! I also used your beautiful new Exquisite Poppies dies and the Lacey leaves and the swirls. I am hoping to send you a photo of my card soon. The couple I made the card for are in their 40's and have been together for several years. I made it using just milk cardstock and silver moon gilding flakes. ( I am covered in them now, from head to toe !!! ) I now have to make an emergency baby card as my sister in law unexpectedly had her baby this morning, eight days early !!! ( I thought I had more time !!! ) Thank you for sharing another beautiful card Sue. Sending you lots of love and hugs from Tres x x x

Sending love to everyone from Tres x x x

Thanks for all the congratulations my friends.
I actually got to meet Harrison tonight and have had a cuddle. Nothing can beat holding a new baby. Of course the fibro objected and I am really hurting but I can't wait to do it again.
Life is still too busy for me and I don't like it!
Bath again tomorrow so I must go to bed.
Sending love n hugs to all xxx

  156. Oh this is so pretty. The more I see your cards using the New Zealand background the more I need it. Trouble is I've already spent this month's craft allowance on a few dies from the latest launch.
Nanna Tina, hope your husband's move to the rehab ward went well and that it is not too long before you have him home again.
    Take care everyone.
