Sunday 8 May 2016

Thanks

Good Sunday morning all!  More colouring for today's card!  I think I was on a roll that day as I did several stamped images that I broke out the Distress markers for!  I started by simply adding some embossing to a piece of coconut white card.  I used the Leafy Quad embossing folder for this.  Next I cut a smaller square to fit on top of this layer.  I cut two of the Canadian Borders out of coconut white card and glued them together horizontally down the centre of this piece.  I clipped off the ends that hung over and mounted them on the larger embossed piece so they looked as if they were continuing on from there.  I added some mounting foam to raise the smaller piece and attached it directly on top.  Next, I stamped the Elegant Lilies Stamp To Die For in black and coloured it with Distress markers.  I cut it out with the matching Montreal die.  I stamped it again and cut out just the top part of the Lily and added it with foam for dimension and stamped a matching sentiment and added it in the open area.  I sprayed it with glue then glittered it for a bit of bling.    I cut a Vancouver die out of coconut white and seated the stamped image on top of it.  I added a messy bow tied out of white seam binding and topped it with a white crystal sparkler.  I added a white on white pierced mat to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  9" in size.

  10. Sunday smiles to you Sue. And as your blog started to open its sleepy eyes the sample before me made me smile. I love the colours you've used for your flower image, it really makes the whole card pop, especially the way you've decoupaged the Lily head, a lovely start to the day.
Well done to this week's comment winners enjoy your gift.
As for the fb group I mention if you search Creative Expressions on fb you will see two groups - one that America started for the American friends that follow Sue and use products from CE, and another with the exact same name but it was started here in the UK. Facebook has a few rules & regs so I don't feel it's my place to give the name out, but I hope the info I've given helps with the search ?
Whatever your plans for the day Sue, hope it's an enjoyable one xx

  76. Morning, Sue,

I heard someone on an American TV show say something that was a cross between fantastic and fabulous and that's just what this card is...Fantabulous!! I'm rapidly falling in love with all your 'stamps to die for' and they are getting added onto my wish list like crazy :).
Pam: How dare Mother Nature send you some nasty fog yesterday...I'm coughing just thinking about it!

We had some rain last night down here in my corner of Cornwall so that means that, although it's dry and kind of sunny today, there will be no work in the garden today as the soil will be too claggy! I guess that means I have to make a start on the kitchen instead. As it's Sunday though, I think all I'll do is clear the top of the wall units and take everything from the top of the fridge/freezer, then I can start to wash down the walls tomorrow. Don't want to do too much on a weekend now, do I lol. I may make a cake while I'm out there.
Does it sound like I'm trying to stay away from the craft room today? The answer is a resounding YES...it looks like a bomb has gone off in there as I've been searching everywhere for the cd that came with my printer. The printer refuses to work so I thought I would re-install it. Of course, I've put the darned cd away in a safe place...never to be seen again lol, so I really do need to make a cake to console myself...any excuse for something sweet.
    Have a wonderful Sunday, every-one.
    Bejay xx

  88. Good morning Sue and the Wilsonettes,
This is a lovely card Sue that i could stare at for hours, the calla lily is just lovely and the blending of the blue around the stamped image is so soft and tapers off just prettily. I love how the card is all white apart from it's focal point which goes from being like a deep denim blue to going to the pale soft trail that it does. Thank you Sue for a gorgeous card for a Sunday morning.
Well i am waiting for the sun that is supposed to be coming out to arrive, the mist is covering my lovely hills because it's too lazy to be high in the sky where it is meant to be. I am sort of trying to be good today and do nothing as i perhaps shouldn't have done all that i did yesterday, but on the positive note you can still smell the bleach that i might have been a tad heavy handed with. I washed down all the walls in the bathroom, scrubbed the floor, bleached the inside and out of the shower cabinet and the cupboards, did the downstairs WC, the washings, hanging out and in and up and put away, sorted out my towels cupboard, and did all of downstairs floors so i am just a tad tired and sore today but the place is gleeming all bar it smells of bleach.
Have a good day everyone and congratulations to all of this weeks winners, enjoy your prize when you all recieve it. Hugs to all those that need, want or could just do with someone thinking of them and to all our friends of foreign shores that are celebrating Mothers Day, i hope that you all get treated like you should,

    Congratulations to this week's winners.

    Enjoy your day out Tracy
I have come to a halt today as it's been a manic week and I just need to rest before I crash.
Talking of crashing I was nearly in a car one on Thursday due to the awful driver I had back from Bath. But I'm ok and I have put a complaint in so I won't be seeing him again.
Had a full day Friday out with my bestie as it was her birthday Thursday so we went out for lunch and then we went to a large antique/retro place and smoothed around. Then off to the common for an ice cream then back to hers for a cuppa and more catching up. It was lovely. I had made her a floating cup which unfortunately had come apart but I was able to repair it so all was well in the end.
Yesterday was a visit to my Mum's as it would have been my Dad's birthday. Harrison cam the meet her so there were quite a few of us and then Claire and I went to the cinema.
So as I said I have come to a halt today.
Sending love n hugs to all xxx

It is very beautiful! I love those Canadian dies, of course...I live in Canada. It's nice to see colouring on cards again. Beautiful dies and stamps Sue. Have a beautiful day!

  117. Hi Sue, a lovely card with your usual clever colouring. I like the way that the focal point is the only coloured part of the card, it really draws the eye in.

Lynda - I hope the ECG doesn't throw up anything too alarming, fingers crossed.
Pat L - fingers crossed also for Sarah, I hope all goes well on Tuesday.
Tracy - enjoy your holiday, you deserve it, but do remember to pace yourself.
Laine - please tell Yvonne that I hope the crisis is over and that it won't be too long before she is back sparring with you on the blog.

Congratulations to all the comment game winners, enjoy playing with your prizes.
