Doubled Borders

Hi bloggers!  Today's video card shows off a different way in which to use the Zigzag border.  It makes a great addition to any card and looks great when doubled up too!

The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x  8 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  23. GM Sue. What a card. Love it! When the zigzag border first came out I wasn't sure about it at all. Then... I fell in love! I plan to use it on some father's day cards when I finally finish sorting my craft room out. At the moment most of its contents are strewn about the house. I had a moment of madness last week. Everything out and deep clean it day last week. Trouble is its going to take much longer to sort it out and put it all back! The beaded swirl is a fave already. Fab die.

  48. Morning Sue. I have to admit that when the zig zag die was first revealed I was amongst others that wasn't overwhelmed by it. But since I've seen so many gorgeous samples made by yourself and especially America and the talented group of ladies on the fb pages, it really has been showed off beautifully. It maybe the Planest of dies to look at in the raw so to speak but WOW it really packs an amazing punch for all occasion cards and for all genders and ages, I've seen this die used in so many unexpected and inventive ways it makes you sit wide mouthed at its versatility, saying that Sue, it's not living with me yet but I intend to remedy that asap.
I shall be getting my craft fix via John today showing your launch before the last (I can't believe Leonie didn't remember she stood beside you at the AP live show while you told us your reason for calling Maggie - Maggie) !! How can she NOT remember seeing these gorgeous dies before lol barmpot lol.
Hoping to get back into the craft mode soon once my weekly injections start to dampen down the inflammation - jeez, 2 injections a week now, I'm starting to run out of skin sites on my tummy lol.
I shall sit and enjoy your video with a hot large cup of coffee now grandad has left to spend the day with his special little princess, just done first nappy change of many today (just hope he's put it on the right way this time lol) that's another story lol 😀
Sending you hugs and much love for the day Sue xxx

  58. Hi sue and crafters.

Oh my oh my I just love this. Monochrome has to be my favorite combo colour. So easy to use to adapt to male and female cards.

Well ladies I'm off on my hols this afternoon to loch long. So far the weather is dry with a little sunshine trying to poke thru. But as long as it stays dry happy days. 4 days away from everything.
My dads not been well so he's been staying with us the past few nights so I can keep my eye on him lol. He's staying with my sister whilst we are away. I'm worried about him as he's getting a camera down his throat next week at hospital to see why he can't keep much food down :-(. I have to take him and wait. Dr has his suspicions hence the quick appt at hospital.
However I'll try my best to enjoy my break away.

Norah. Hope ur wee dog is doing better.

Wheely. Lovely to see u back honey. M

  59. Good morning lovely Sue and the wonderful Wilsonettes,
This is quite striking looking Sue today with your zigzag band across the front of it and those beautiful flourishes coming out top and bottom of my lovely sweetheart flower. I treated myself to those flourishes just a couple of weeks ago and oh boy have i had fun using them. They make a stunning flower rosette when cut a few times and arrange the next fanning out from the first, i love them. Thank you Sue for a great card that i can although i don't have the zigzag die, i have all the rest of the components just for a change. I hope that you have a lovely day flower and that gorgeous weather that i have up here is what is gracing you and the wonderful band of Wilsonettes.
Well Tia is coming back to herself slowly but surely although not quite eating all her meals yet, but it will come. I am having to give my baby girl breakfast as well at the moment so that she will take her tablet and pain relief medicine, so she had some shreddies this morning. I am just giving her small but often meals to keep her going through the day and so that she can take her medicince. Sorry folks my brain has disappeared at my spelling the now so please for give some of my atrocious spelling mistakes. Once the pain relief kicks in it gives her a few hours that she isn't crying and i think it must be because she has never been in pain before, or that amount of pain that she has at the moment, i'm just so glad to have my baby 4 paws still with me. Thank you all the beautiful people that is asking how Tia is, it is so very kind of you all, and she is just my baby only she has 4 legs instead of two and i don't need to buy her the latest fashion in clothes, or have her take the bathroom over for 2 hours at a time. She is deciding to sunbathe out the back garden so i am going to put her bed out as i don't want her getting anything in her wound.
June flower, oh i do hope that the wound clinic can help you this morning as we need you to get a bit better for your holidays which are fast approaching.
Pat L, i hope that your beloved granddaughter can see through to the reason why her surgery has been delayed but crikey they know that they need a certain number of beds for people that are desperately in need of surgery that they have got planned, poor wee lass as 6 weeks is along time for her to wait on top off the length of time that it has already taken her to get this far. Sending hugs down to her x
Nanna Tina, oh i'm sorry that your hubby is in so much pain, it must have wiped him out plus the moving to another hospital with new staff when you are just coming to terms with the staff where you are can take it out of him as well. I hope that now he is there that slowly but surely you get your hubby back but it is a long road as our Pam knows with our astonishing Robbie. Sending hugs down to him and i hope that you and he starts seeing an improvement soon flower.
Wheelybad, wow flower you must be so excited about your break with your friend next month. Please try and be good up until then so that you can get as much goodness and enjoyment from it that is possible. hugs on their way to you flower to perk you up and keep you going. And hey, 30 mins each day is better than none so try and enjoy that small window of time that you get in the day before you're washed out like some off us.
Right i will go and leave you all now with hugs going to all the special people on this blog that need, want or could just do with some. I hope that you are all having a great day weather wise as we are having here at Glenochil. x
    Love and crafty hugs

  78. Good morning/afternoon Sue and your amazing Wilsonettes! Oh what a striking, gorgeous card this morning. The bed of roses embossing folder is my favorite one ever!!! I love that flourish but when I first saw it, I thought it was just too big for the size cards I make. Then you cut it down in the video and I realized that I must order it NOW!!! The sweet flowers and zigzag border complete this amazing card beautifully.

Pam...I always look forward to seeing your comment first when I visit the blog. You're such a lovely positive person.
Tracy...enjoy your holiday, you deserve it. I hope your dad is ok.
Norah...I'm so glad your Tia is on the mend.

Sue, you are one kind of clever crafting lady to show us how to hold those tiny zigzags together!

  103. Hi Sue,
I love the dramatic impact of this black and white card. It's so striking. I've not got the zigzag die but I love the effect you can achieve with it. I think it's a very useful one to have in your stash...another to add to my wish list :)

  105. Sue this is so very elegant and I absolutely love the black and white.
I have the zig zag die and it is so lovely to use and like a child I like playing with the bits that are left instead of saving them lol
Really love this one and definitely on my list of must try.
Also thank you for another fab video demo.

  109. Hi Sue, black & white, really? But no, the wisteria makes it look completely different and allows me to see it for the beautiful card that it is. I like it a lot.

Jan from Long Island - Congratulations to your grandson Shane on his achievements. I see one very (justifiably) proud Grandmother.
Norah - so glad Tia is on the mend.
June - hope all went well at the clinic today.
Tracy - enjoy your holiday and try not to worry about your dad, he will be fine with your sister. Fingers crossed this weather holds for you.

  113. The Zigzag die sure has a very pleasing look. It looks a little finicky, but I suppose the more you use it the more adept you become.

  115. Dramatic card. I might try something like this for the upcoming birthday of someone who loves black and white cards (I don't normally use much black). The flourish is one of my current favourites. I don't have the Sweetheart flowers but I really like the idea of the full and open petals in one set. I hope you'll do this again in future as I have several sets of flower dies where my purse has dictated choosing one or the other but not both.
    Take care everyone.

  117. OMG, OMG, OMG....so beautiful!!! My friend was over again yesterday for another day of crafting and we used the same beaded swirl die on some of our cards and we happen to have cut some in black....I also was showing her how you can snip away parts of die cuts and use the smaller pieces....how funny that you did the same thing on this card. Great minds!!! Well, you have a great mind....

I'm drooling over the Platinum machine....my old handle is still holding on (thank you Mr. Fix It Hubby), but when it bites the dust, I'm getting one of these machines. I think I'm moving my piggy bank into my craft room and every day I'll drop in a few dollars...shouldn't take long since I craft almost every day.

As always, love the card and the informative video....YOU ARE AMAZING!!!
