Heated Pearls Technique

Hi bloggers!  The Heated Pearl technique has been a favourite of mine for a long time.  It has great texture and is a winning combo for those males cards too!

Don't forget to scroll down to the post below this one and check the list of die winners!  There are still quite a few that have not been claimed yet!!

The finished dimensions are 8 1/4" x  8 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  75. Hi Sue & lovely Wilsonettes* I really look forward to watching your videos not only is it fabulous to see your extraordinary techniques but you are such a natural narrator & I can quite happily watch knowing I’m going to get my own attempt right off first time (I can see me using the following colours together ‘Black Pearl – Antique Red – Enchanted Gold & Antique Blue) with your clear & concise demonstration.

Thank you for sharing with us Sue but it seems I’m not the only one who thought Ah!!! ‘Gilding Flakes’ from the first momentary look of the background I thought this must be an amazing new technique of yours using, yep you got it ‘Guilding Flakes’*Lol. The pastel finish is very appealing to me & I agree that the shiny black border compliments it exceedingly well, I can actually visualise this with acetate over the front x x x

I would also like to say ‘Heartiest Congratulations’ to all the winners from Sue’s fantastic new launch, what an extremely generous lady & with fabulous SW inspiration you are sure to be making fantastic cards with your lovely gifts; enjoy x x x

JUNE* OooH poor you my friend, my tummy did a butterfly cringe reading about those pesky little twisted clips, thankfully as you say they are out so now you can truly begin the healing process. Hope it’s not too long before you can get back to being crafty; lol x x x

MARG* your birthday today? Wow congratulations & how lovely for you to share your birth date with HRH (hope you receive a royal birthday card today?* lol, & hoping you have a lovely day with some SW goodies as pressies to boot x x x

YVONNE G* lovely to hear that Marjorie has improved & is keeping well, she does seem like an extraordinarily amazing lady, but the loveliest thing is that she knows she has you to be there for her x x x (((Hugs LAINE)))x x x this is what I miss about not living in the country & growing up with caring neighbours, they keep themselves to themselves in this neighbourhood so if it wasn’t for work I wouldn’t see anyone for dust.

I can remember when I first came up here I was waiting at the bus stop (on an estate) 2 couples were there (born & bred locals) & we were having a lovely chat, when one suddenly said “you’re not from around here are you”, I said “no have just moved up here”, to which they subsequently turned their backs to me & carried on chatting amongst themselves. I was gobsmacked, having moved from a friendly & caring community, this happened on many occasions, until one day a lovely elderly lady talked to me, she wasn’t a local but had lived here for 14 years & when her husband died not one neighbour came to see how she was (which I thought was sad) anyways I saw her many a time & we chatted & I popped to see her, then she moved back to where she lived before & I’m so pleased for her as she writes often that she is happy & has friends.

HEATHER CHEESMUR* (just in case you miss the earlier post) please try CRAFTSMATIC website, http://www.craftasmic.co.uk/, I have just looked & they do have some BLUSH F/Card in stock, hope this helps & you get to order some okay x x x (hope it's ok to put this on here Sue) x

  94. Afternoon Sue
Ok it's official - I am a complete doughnut. I had completely forgotten about the draw - actually I spent the majority of the day yesterday after commenting earlier than normal thinking it was Tuesday.
So when I came on to the blog to view todays card and saw the draw list it took me by surprise. As I scrolled down the list feeling really pleased for the winners, especially to some familiar names I nearly fell over when I saw my own name.
Oh my goodness what a completely lovely shock - I so can't believe it. It has taken me a while to get over the shock before I could comment because I really did not expect to win - I have got the biggest smile spread across my face and I could kiss everyone and anybody - but I won't.
Well done to all the other lucky winners - how happy has that made you???!!!
I am too distracted to read everyone's comments - sorry - but I do hope everyone is ok.
Just a small observation that I think people need to be aware of (especially LAINE), I have won the heart spray - obviously this is a message to me from Sue that she really loves me - much more subtle than the Love die but I get it Sue. We need to be discreet about my being your favourite x
I am just so overwhelmed that you are such a wonderfully generous lady Sue and I cannot thank you enough x
Almost forgot - love today's card. Have not tried this technique yet - as well as having a long wish list (which is minus the beautiful heart spray obviously), I have a rather long technique to do list as well. One of these days ......
Must away folks - need to claim my prize.
Enjoy the rest of your day and I am sending everyone huge happy hugs and nice thoughts. Don't think anything could upset me today - feel like I have won the lottery x
    Crafty hugs

Well done to all the die launch lucky winners; you're so generous, Sue, and it is a thrill to win, having been there in the past.
Well Txcowgirl me old Biscuit, you had me spluttering with laughter! More southern sayings, please.
Laine and pet friends - Miss Pushy still hanging on, mainly due to the fact she's now hyper-T. Not being treated as it is making her eat, which she wouldn't be doing with the kidney failure. Still relatively happy but Mr 'P' calls her Miss Hyper now! She constantly flits between the two of us when not sleeping soundly. My wonderful vet is amazed that she is still with us and truly we are thankful for this extra time.

Pam...I'm so jealous of you getting your poppy die set. I have it on my wish list but sadly, I have other household priorities right now and it's going to be a few months before I can manage to spare the money to get it. Love the textured background to this card, and so easy to do. I suppose that you could use any fancy dies for the centerpiece! I have some Mica Powders so will definitely be trying this technique.

  118. Wonderful video, yes I thought it was gilding flakes also, everyone must watch this new, fun technique. It makes a gorgeous card.

Thanks for the comments about my southern sayings. I grew up hearing these from my mom's side of the family. I'll try to recall a few more. We called my mom's mom, Nanny, and she was so funny, and always had some southern expression for every situation.
When her arthritis was acting up or she just didn't feel well she'd always say, "I got a little hitch in my get-along today."

  119. Good afternoon Sue and the Wilsonettes,
WHat a great man's card this is Sue but it still reminds me of molten lava trying to cool down. I think this would be a great idea for mum's, grans, grandpa's who have a young scientist in their midst that is looking to create their volcano erupting and coming down the valley, lol. Surely this card is ideal for those more selective people in our lives, i was going to put fussy, but we all have one or two that we know that likes to work out how something is done and this is a sure fire way to confuse them. Thank you Sue for another crafty inclusion into out crafty arsenal and letting us into the secret of how it's done. I'm glad flower that you got recognised through our comments and emails on just how great we think your new sets are especially the new country ones and the new gemini triples which are my favourite. Thank you Sue for all the beautiful things that you bring our way for us to share in and get pleasure from. For the kindness that you have from that big heart in making so many people so happy. As crafters we are as you will know yourself, not just happy for our own fortune but also and probably more so when we see friends names up and know just who much they wont believe it, be landing on the floor in sheer amazement, that cry because they just can't believe that their name has been picked and that someone could be as kind and generous of spirit and they might not even have had the good fortune to have met you. Us lucky people that have met this beautiful lady knows that it is just the way she is, so thank you flower for ALL your kindnesses. I am just back from meeting up with 8 beautiful people in Carlisle and we have laughed and giggled, been filmed for the telly, gave numerous people a laugh and just ahd the very best time meeting new or old friends for the first time. I have come to the conclusion that crafters have a very warped sense of humour in the main and lord help the place where they all meet up as it wasn't the youngsters that were the rowdy ones, not naming any names Maureen, but thank you all for the most fabulous time and it can't come around soon enough when i get to meet these lovely people again.
Sending to all my Wilsonette friends old and new hugs for what ever reason in the world you need them, take care lovely ladies and gents
    Love and crafty hugs

  128. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

I'm really pleased that you have chosen to demonstrate this fabulous technique, it's so straightforward yet very effective....you know I don't like too much mess, well this is perfect, just a little glue and mica powder dusted lightly over and hey Ho a molten delight! I recently bought a metallic mica powder kit that will work fabulously and I fully plan to try this soon. It would work very well for a male card or female with the addition of a few embellishments though I have to say that I like it just as it is. Aren't those noble frames just so useful?
Another busy day preparing for my uncles visit, geez, you'd think we were hosting royalty the way my mums behaving:-)
Still struggling with the exposed nerve in my mouth, painkillers not having much effect and I'm having difficulty eating....still trying solid foods but think I might resort to liquidised through a straw, seems like a reasonable alternative don't you think? Strangely, all I seem to want to eat is sponge and custard made with birds custard powder.....not so good for the overall health of said teeth though:-)
Short but sweet from me tonight, off for an early night, I've a long day tomorrow....
Hugs to all our furry four paws, particularly miss pushy, and cuddles to Yvonne, Beth, Rebecca, jan, Maria, Theresa, Wheely bad, Lynda, Linda, Lorraine P, Alison and anyone in need due to illness, bereavement, or just becausexxxx

  138. I love this technique which I have experimented with on smaller projects, eg. Die cut butterflies. I hadn't thought to try it as a background, as I've said before I must think outside the box, Luckily I have your great blog to remind me of these unusual techniques, thank you Sue.
Also another thank you for your generous gesture of giving away dies from your new launch, I was one of your lucky winners. Congratulations to all the other winners. We are so lucky having such a generous leader! Thank you.

Forgot I saw you do this technique at show. Thank you for the video it makes it so much easier to get it right. Have a few man birthdays coming up so will definitely try to emulate this perfect card. Again thank you for being so generous in your die prizes. Still on high that I have won one!! Have had a good week at work so treating myself to one of your dies and embossing folder. Know which embossing folder but huge headache to choose which die!!

Pam and Bejay you will have so much fun with the poppy die. I have been so taken with it that I just keep trying to find more different flowers to make from it. Bejay definitely worth saving up for. I have had one of Sue's other flower dies on to buy list for ages so know worth the wait. Hope you are able to get it soon.
