Double Cutting Dies

Hi bloggers!  Depending on the die, you can sometimes cut your card and then cut over the same area with just a turn of the die and get some great patterns.  You just need to have another die to cover the not so pretty areas on the inside!  Don't be afraid to try, it is only a bit of card!

The winner of this week's Wednesday Card giveaway is:

Stella Munn!!!

Congratulations!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your card.

The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 3/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Gloria, hope the sun shines for your daughters wedding today.
    Laine, ouch, poor you.
The great thing about crafting is the poetic licence you can take with colours of flowers etc.

  72. Clearly, I am not the only one who watched the clever use of the die to extend the pattern and wondered if any of the other dies in one's collection would work in this way. Another great way of thinking beyond the norm. A beautiful card has resulted from the use of this technique although, not being a fan of bows, I might try to reproduce with one less.

Thank you for the ideas: keep 'em coming, we can never too many of these.

  78. Good morning Sue and the WIlsonettes,
This is such a pretty card Sue, so girly looking with it's little bows at each side at the bottom and with the beautiful little flourish like pearl corners. I watched this video the other day on youtube and was enlightened by your double cutting to make the pretty cut in look under the top center piece. Thank you Sue for another gorgeous card but another inspiring video giving us a different idea on creating a new look.
Well folks my hills have just got the snow in the crevices of the hills now, a slight smattering which i really don't mind it up there looking beautiful or even on the fields and gardens, it's just when it's on the pavements and roads that i don't like it becasue as sure is fate i will be the one down making friends with the area i am walking on and it gets a bit like a carry on film trying to get back up when the feet keep slipping.
Tracy flower, i hope that your Graeme has fun today in his driving experience. I have as a younger model been at the stock car trak racing around for raising money for charity, it was fantastic. I am so glad that you are feeling better today so that you can enjoy watching him and his face lighting up with the excitement of what it was like. I am a pathetic follower of the formula one and the rally car races and what i would love to be doing. You have a lovely day with your handsome hubby and enjoy yourselves. My little scooter allows me to do things that the legs couldn't do and i even had not one but two men down on their knees before me that day, lol. They were getting peoples opinions on the Scottish elections, silly men came and asked me, now you would think that they should have known better, lol. I was out with my lovely friends that i met through Sue's blog and Sandra's, it was fantastic couple of days and the only thing wrong with it, it wasn't long enough for any of us.
Gloria, i hope that your daughter and future son in law will be very happy, have a lovely day today and enjoy every moment as it seems to be over in a flash so quickly.
June flower, it won't matter that you rattle as long as you are getting the level of pain under control. I hope that the wound clinic helps to do something to heal your wound up. Now just think of the various songs you can now shake along to with your pills? An unplanned musician, lol. x
Stella, enjoy your beautiful WOW when it arrives because it's like a feeling unlike any other, so enjoy your win flower.
Right that's me i will go and leave you all now with hugs going to Tracy - keep up your chin up flower, you have done so well and now we want you to enjoy living your life to the max again, Wheely - i hope that you are turning that corner flower as you are missed and to all the Wilsonettes that need or could just do with a hug, they are there for you all,
    love and crafty hugs

  122. Hi Sue
I think you should name this tutorial, Circleing the Square, as this is exactly what you have done. It will be interesting to see if this can be achieved using other square dies, or do you need this particular die?

  126. Congrats 2 Stella. You will treasure your card.
Sue I am so pleased to see you posting this card. I watched you doing this technique on Hochanda and loved it. I don't have this die but tried it with a different one and it worked. Though think it's better with this one. Thank you for your inspirations. Have a great weekend.
