Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello bloggers!  I really like the way this one came out and thought it would make a nice offering for the Wednesday Card Giveaway card.  I started with a piece of the pale lavender patterned paper from my Classic Elegance paper pad.  I cut it into three strips based on the linear pattern to the paper.  I matted it with a thin white border and mounted it with foam on to another piece of coconut white card to create the background.  I cut a smaller piece of the same paper but in a square this time.  I matted it with a thin white mat and added four Hobart Adornments around the edges of the square.  I added it to the centre of the background giving it a sort of diamond orientation.  I stamped my sentiment, then cut the centre of the Melbourne die out of Wisteria card.  I backed it with white then cut the centre out to create a frame for my sentiment.  I centred it over the sentiment then added a thin white frame around it by cutting the two circular dies in the Melbourne set.  I created a Sweetheart flower by cutting the solid piece out of the patterned paper then adding a white edge to it using the open petal die from the set.  I seated the flower on some white tulle and satin ribbon.  I added small white pearls to the background and die cuts as accents, then completed the card with a white, wisteria and white matting to it.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  8 1/2" in size.  Leave me a comment to be included in the drawing to win this one!!  All for now, Sue x

  27. Oh My Goodness Sue. I think if I'd ever made a card this gorgeous, id have to make another to make up for giving the original away ! I think we can all say that we've made a card or two that we have really loved and not wanted to part with, but whoever is the lucky recipient of this pretty delicate masterpiece then they should class themselves as extremely fortunate and lucky. The more samples I see with your paper's the less I want to use and lose them, I think it's time to buy another so I won't feel guilty cutting into the one I got two days after release lol.
Turned out well indeed Sue, that has to be the biggest understatement yet lol it's stunning xx

To those lovely, caring ladies that have emailed or sent messages to Tina E and her family - with Sue's permission I left a thank you message from Tina on yesterday's blog both here and on Tina's blog.

Hope you have a good day Sue.

Hubby's car has got its mot today so as I drive it home I might stop at the craft shop that I'm sure I can find a route past to have a look and see if they've got it - my reward for sitting in the garage for a couple of hours on a hard chair with horrible tea! 65. Hi Sue & Wilsonettes*WOW! WOW! WOW! WOW! WOW! What a truly awesome, glamorous, sensational work of art you have so lovingly & laboriously created Sue, to say that this superlative beauty has totally taken my breath away is quite indubitably an underestimation. The exquisite, Elegance paper, you have chosen fits so perfectly into the design I cannot envisage any other paper design taking its place, if ever there was a card where all the elements were integral to complement each other with perfection then this is surely the one, this is most assuredly the card that can only ever be reproduced as it is in its entirety, no other replication would take its place which receives from me the highest admiration & honour status. Sincere appreciation & congratulations Sue, although you create & share a beautiful masterpiece with us each & every day, this awe-inspiring work of genius is remarkable in its own right x x x

Good luck with the draw my crafty friends, hope you’ve saved a space of honour for when you become the lucky recipient of Sue’s big-hearted generosity x x x

Well my friends, I received a bombshell when I went into work yesterday, immediately upon arrival I was ushered to the staff room & told I haven’t time to take my coat off, what on earth have I done wrong my mind pondered, but sadly it was more devastating than that. Although all staff & children at school know, for reasons of confidentiality I cannot go into detail or anything, but we were told that a member of our staff had passed away suddenly on Monday night. There was no indication with her health it was just so sudden & such a shock. She really was the loveliest of ladies, always smiling with a smile that would light up the room & your heart, she had unhindered patience & the children adored her. Naturally it was so hard for us all to be strong for the children, especially when you cannot hug them to give them comfort & reassurance, all we could do was let them know we were there to listen & try to persuade them to keep in their hearts the lovely memories of who she was to them....thank you for listening my friends, going in today will be harder because when I got home from work yesterday it had sunk in for me of the loss to our school & her family x x x x x

STEPHANIE COTTERILL***thank you so much for your lovely message yesterday, as you know I have been absent from this lovely blog family for a while & wasn’t aware of the tragic loss that had come to Tina & her family. I noticed that others had them in their thoughts & now that I understand why please would you convey my deepest sorrow & heartfelt condolences to TINA E & her family, my heart truly goes out to them with sincere understanding as in 1983 I suffered the loss of my “Rainbow” baby Shaun Ryan x but that is neither here nor there because this sincere message is for Tina & family, what is good to know is that she has a wonderful caring friend, in yourself, to support her during times of greatest need. Special (((hugs))) x x x

I must close for now my crafty friends, love & hugs to one & all, especially to Sue & family Take care Beth B x x x x x

  154. Hi Sue, Just beautiful and I love, love it. I think you will have gathered by now that we all love your paper pads and what you create with them :-) It would be superfluous for me to add anything else to what has already been said.

Jan D - I hope your hubby is recovering from his operation and you can get some 'me' time.

Beth B - a sudden and unexpected death is always hard, I hope you, your colleagues and the children all get the help needed to come to terms with something like this.

  164. Good afternoon lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Oh my golly gosh, what a stupendous card showcasing your new paper pad beautifully. The more I see the card examples using these papers the more I feel I need them! The thing I like most about this card is the composition, the triple panel is stunning and the focal point using the Hobart adornment and Melbourne die is very eye catching. A truly beautiful card that deserves to go to a good loving home where it must be treated with the respect it deserves and framed.....I have such a home in case you were wondering Sue:-)
So sorry I didn't pop by yesterday but time literally ran away with me such is the hectic roller coaster called my life!:-) So before I forget can I just say congrats to Kitty on the new addition to your family, and say to Steph that Tina is very lucky to have such a kind considerate friend who is there for her at such a chronically devastating time- it is hardly surprising that she hasn't had the opportunity to see for herself the support she has from her blog friends so Thankyou for passing on our love and best wishes.
In contrast to yesterday I have had a lazy day, had a seizure last night so slept in and I've been chasing my tail ever since. Thought I would settle down after my bath and hair to an afternoon of colouring and managed to do a little before I was distracted by Leonie on Hochanda...my mum was out getting her hair cut so I had complete control of the tv:-).....she was demonstrating mixed media and got herself into a rate old mess as a result....I love the idea but my OCD was horrified at the state of her hands and craft desk, I think I would need a sedative to calm my anxiety before I could start the project!:-) I really like Tim Holtz ideas and projects but wouldn't know where to begin, I wish we had classes locally to learn new techniques....or maybe you could demo a grunge style card Sue, please......
Beth, I am saddened to hear about your colleague and friend, it must have came as quite a shock especially to the children, my thoughts and love are with you at this traumatic timexxxxx
Lorraine, sorry to hear that you are struggling just now, I hope your symptoms ease so that you can get crafting again
Tracy, how are you coping with the mess? Do you have any nice workmen to take your mind off the disruption....it would almost be worth the inconvenience:-) thank goodness your mum just lives down the road though, I don't think I could survive without having a bath and doing my hair everyday!
Yvonne my lovely, are you busy preparing for your break away? More importantly, I trust you'll be back home before Sues shows are aired on the 1st and 2nd otherwise I'd seriously consider my priorities if I were you.....ha! I knew I was really Sues biggest fan and real favourite, and I didn't need to bribe her with confectionary either!:-)
Cuddles to Pam, p, Rebecca, Linda, melody, Maria, Theresa and anyone in need of a good old hugxxxxx
Just over two weeks to go until our great leader appears, I'm getting excited already:-)

    Love and crafty hugs
