Thanks For Being My Friend

Hi bloggers!  Here's a real girlie sort of card using the Hannah die set.  I started by cutting the Hannah out of coconut white card.  I backed it with Wisteria card using just the outer cutting edge.  I used the inside oval to cut the two pieces to create a frame, then mounted foam on the back to raise it for dimension.   I cut the centre of the die in white, backed it in wisteria card and recessed it into the centre of the frame.  I cut one more of the centre oval in white and backed it in white as well and mounted it horizontally across the frame.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out and added it to the centre of the card.  I created a 3D flower using the Orange Blossom die and sugared it with Iced Snow.  I seated it on a messy bow tied out of lilac seam binding and Bakers Twine bow and added some Orange Blossom leaves around it.  I made two matching stick pins and added them to the bow.  I did a bit of matting and layering using the wisteria card and the Double Pierced Rectangles die sets to create a nice framed effect around the card. The finished dimensions are 7 1/4"  x  8 1/4" in size. All for now, Sue x

  7. Utterly gorgeous card, Sue, always like wisteria and the embellishment is so pretty.
You make me laugh - 'a bit of matting and layering' - 7 layers plus the top bits!! All to great effect and not a wonky bit ever. Millimeter perfect. In awe.
Forgot to say well done to the comment winners yesterday.
Laine - laughs as always, with your PJ escapade. Will wait for Yvonne's no doubt pithy comment!
Not a morsel of choc passed our lips this weekend - diet on track but so boring.

  44. Hi Sue & lovely Wilsonettes***with it being my Hannah’s 3rd birthday on Frid 1st April (I kid you not lol) the Hannah die & sentiment ‘thanks for being my friend’ couldn’t be more apt, but I’m just as thrilled to send this one ‘right back at ya’ Sue, because I profoundly feel that to each & every one of us, you are undeniably a very ‘special & exceptional friend’ indeed x x x

This is ‘THE SUE’ card, the style we love to see,(but it goes without saying that we love your many other styles of course) the style that first introduced me to card crafting with dies instead of struggling with cutting out printed decoupage etc. I shall never forget the first time I saw you on C & C, I knew the moment I saw your elegant & stunning cutting dies, your unique style, your enthusiasm & your dazzlingly gorgeous stick pins that this was to be my forever style of card too & to find your magnificent blog, John & Julia & wonderful craft family was the icing on the cake. Thank you my FRIEND for everything that you are to us, & I mean that most sincerely, & for this spectacular gem of a card, love, love, love every inch of this elegant treasure which also happens to be in my favourite colour x x x

Well my friends, woe is meeeeee, I have just noticed that my comment from yesterday (that definitely uploaded) isn’t there; I assure you it was extremely flattering on your outstanding card Sue (wouldn’t be anything else but) & also with good wishes for you all for Easter Sunday, & also a funny story***I’ll never forget my last moments inside the school building last Thurs so this is how it goes*** my colleagues & I had gathered near the inner entrance to say our goodbyes & as I walked forward one colleague spoke & I turned to listen, but for some reason my legs had a mind all of their own & continued to tread forward, & I walked smack bang into the wall. Needless to say the conversation instantly stopped & was replaced by ruckus roars of tearful, side splitting laughter which echoed throughout the building. Surprisingly I wasn’t hurt but go ahead ladies, how many of you could relate to this or read without laughing...LOL...I don’t mind honestly...LOL x x x

Today is the day that Mr B & I are catching up on all those little niggly jobs that need doing & as he has just arrived back from his dad’s I must away now, we also have our final meeting with new dog sitters later so I’ll let you know how that pans out, especially with Lauren’s recent seizure.

Take care my friends (you are all in my thoughts) love ‘n’ (((HUGS))) to you all & especially to you Sue & family & your beautiful pets (so happy to know that Annie is doing well Lynda x x x) Beth B x x x x x

  47. Morning Sue. Firstly this sentiment comes straight back to you and those lovely friends ive found here and on fb.
It really is a girly sort of card, it's a Sue Wilson card, the kind of card we all love and admire and try to either replicate or take bits from to come up with our own design. Your dies make it so easy for us to come up with either a full on wowzer card or a clean and simple, which ever we decide to make your dies help give us the confidence we need, and with all the other wonderful and numerous paper pads, inks, stamps etc from CE, how can we fail ?
Looking forward to our Tuesday video tutorial. Have a good day xxx

  86. Good morning Sue and the Wilsonettes,
This is a beautiful card Sue in beautiful colours, so pretty and your flower and leaves just finish it off to be just right for a few occasions. Although i don't have the Hannah set or Orange Blossom leaves i do have my favourite Spanish collection that i could use to acheive a similar stunner. Thank you Sue for a WOW original that we can all spot at 20 paces, lol.
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are enjoying Easter Monday. Rory rolled his egg down the stairs and it only shed the tinfoil wrapped so he wrapped it up in kitchen roll and miles and miles of sellotape to try a few times more. When he actually got it to crack he had wrapped that much sellotape around it he needed to cut it to get into his prize. Tia was jumping around like a looney trying to get to the chocolate but in this house if you're not fast, you're last and when it comes to Rory, you've got to be as fast as Speedy Gonzalos.
Elizabeth, i have a daughter who can relate to your mishap and unfortunately for her, her Granny and I couldn't do anything but wet ourselves with laughter. I have Sterling Mills which is an outlet village down at Tillicoultry and Mum and I used to go down on a regular basis. They have great big large BLACK gates to seal off the shops at night but are all open during the day. Anyway Kirsten would be about 10 or 11 when i am holding the wee fellas hand to go back to the car when Kirsten promptly walks right into these 12 foot high gates and tells us see didn't see them. She hit them that hard she landed 2feet away on her butt on the ground wailing about who put those there. Well as i say we couldn't help her for laughing and she has never been allowed to forget it and after she got over the shock she had a wee bump was fine. At least you left your friends and colleagues smileling instead of weeping which is better and as long as you have no lasting damage just left a lasting impression on the door you're fine.
Sending hugs to all who need them,
    love and craty hugs
    Norah (Glenochil Village)

  87. The mid-day news is on so it's Good Afternoon, Sue :)
Looking at this card it seems to be quite intricate but if you really study it, you can see how to create something wonderful with just some mats and layers, a couple of decorative die cuts and some wonderful flowers and bows :). I love the colour card that was chosen.
Well, Katie was blowing away all night and I half expected my greenhouse to be gone this morning, it's a polycarbonate one so has to be anchored down as I live on top of a hill and it's windy most of the time without these 'named' storms. I was pleased to see it's still there this morning though and Katie seems to have had enough of the south west...at least I hope so...as it's quite calm right now and DRY!!!
Amaryllis watch...The two buds on the largest flower stem now look like a pair of cuttlefish with a frill all the way round. I think they are finally thinking of opening up in the next few days. Let's hope they're worth the wait. Right now it looks like they are a delicate shade of very pale green with a touch of pink along the outer edge of the petal...but of course that may change once they open up fully. I think they're taking an age because they are all offshoots from the original bulb that my sister was given so long ago...there are 8 or 9 in the large container she gifted to me. Next year I may buy a new bulb and put it next to the tub to show them how they are meant to act lol.

Not sure if I would manage that many so perfectly straight :-) I can see that I really must get the orange blossom flowers, you always make them look so beautiful. As soon as I have paid for the new roofline I can see exactly where my pennies are going.

So sorry for all those suffering from storm Katie. We have a bright & sunny day here but it is very windy so a bit too cold to work in the garden and as I have just finished a mountain of ironing I am going to play.

  124. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Greetings on what has been a largely sunny Easter Monday....not what I would say warm, but bright despite the odd shower:-)
If I'd needed cheering up then this beautiful creation would certainly do the trick, it's a Sue classic featuring all my favourite elements from the sugared flower ,to the stick pins, to the messy bow with twine, not to mention the lovely detail of the glossed foliage:-) I'm a happy Easter bunny! Wow, what a lot of splendid pierced layers adding that professional touch and the lovely wisteria colour is a treat. Fabulous card Sue, truly original:-)
Bank holidays are funny old days when you don't work, they feel like they should be a holiday but are of course just another regular day to those without employment. Still, I had a little lie in to make up for the fact that I'd lost an hour sleep yesterday, then eased myself into the day....no housework on a bank holiday is a new cardinal rule! When I was growing up my Mum would make a replica Christmas dinner for Easter including turkey, stuffing, trifle, the works, so we gave in to tradition and cooked a lovely stuffed turkey from M&S today....I've eaten way too much so much so that my cardigan has either shrunk in the wash or I've put on a stone after that meal:-) I'm hoping it's the former option!
It's not many sleeps till Sues shows:-) whilst I'm uber excited I really feel for those who watch on Freeview normally, the changes to the viewing schedule are at best unfortunate, at worst an unacceptable disgrace:-( I do hope you can all catch the shows on the internet because the thought of missing the tv highlight of the year thus far is heartbreaking.
Beth, oh you are a clumsy gal my dear, how funny though:-) I hope you didn't sustain any lasting damage....or did the door bear the brunt? How is Lauren? You must be quite nervous about leaving her next week, I'm sure she'll be just fine though because you've really done all that you can to ensure she's well cared for. Happy birthday to Hannah too from Brodie and Darceyxxxxx
Alison, has Scamp settled in to normal life again?
Lynda, hugs to you and Anniexxx
P, how is Miss Pushy? Hope she is well....how many cats do you have?
Lorraine, sorry to hear you've been sick, hope you managed to get out today, a bit of fresh air really helps sometimesxxx
Yvonne, hope you enjoyed your holiday honey, can't wait to hear all about itxxx
Hugs to Maria, Theresa, Pam, Linda, deb c, Wheely bad and Rebecca and Janxxxx
Hope you had a lovely day everyone

  126. OMG...my lace edged leaves, beaded swirl and lattice window striplet dies arrived today....I went straight to my craft room to give them a go and they cut so beautifully. I have several cards to get made and this was just the boost I needed to get my mojo back. I've been so totally exhausted from my hubby being in the hospital/surgery and I need the "fun" time.

  133. Evening Sue
It's late and I have been missing for over a week now so this is to be just a quick check in until I get back into the swing of things.
What a beauty I have returned to. It is a wonderfully girly card which would bring delight to any one lucky enough to receive such a creation. Just gorgeous and a wonderful welcome back pressie for me to be greeted with on my arrival back into the Wilsonette family.
Only 4 more sleeps til I am reunited with my idol. I am soooo excited to see you again. I hope you are looking forward to gracing the Hochanda screens with all your spectacular awesomeness showing everyone how to do it x
I am planning on checking out what I have missed tomorrow. Got back on Saturday and was so excited to log on and have a Particraft filled evening but had a bit of a mishap which left me a little stressed and therefore feeling yuk and my sleep patterns have been awful over the last couple of nights. Nothing too disastrous and no one was hurt or ill but I will reveal all tomorrow.
Just lovely to be back - so missed not being able to access the internet whilst away but I am now fully back in control and hoping to resume normal service as of tomorrow.
Apologies for not being up to date with everyone's news and events but sending you all big smiles, happy thoughts and lots of love.
    Take care all

  149. Hi Sue. This is such a pretty card and as I have both the die and the stamp I should be able to create something very similar. I did enjoy your recent shows on TV and very much look forward to seeing you again at Ally Pally. I do intend to go but we have had the house on the market for 7 months and if the agents arrange any viewings I am afraid they will have to take priority.
