For You

Good Sunday morning all!  Happy Easter as well!   This is one of the demo cards from my last shows (way back in December!).  I started by cutting the outer decorative die from the Alexandra set using the inner cutting edge to create a decorative aperture.  I lined it with black to show through by cutting just the same cutting die and lining up the pieces.  I added mounting foam to raise it for dimension.  I cut the inside piece from the Alexandra die in white and backed it with blush card for the outer part of it and used black card for the very centre of it.  I created a channel in the card and cut the Ornate Octagon in black and backed it with blush card.  I glued that piece into the recessed channel below my focal element.  I stamped my sentiment and used the centre of the Alexandra to cut it out.  I inked it with Tattered Rose ink and mounted it in the centre of the card.  Next I cut several of the Orange Blossom in blush and used the open petal to give them a black outline.  I seated the flowers around my focal element and added some pink satin ribbon and the Orange Blossom leaves as accents.  I completed the card with a white pierced mat, a thin blush and black mat and a final white mat.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  8 3/42 in size.

The winners of this week's comment game are:

Jennifer Smith-Kirk!!!
Tracy W!!!
Jane Franklin!!!

Congratulations all!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize.  All for now, Sue x

So disappointed that H will be off Freeview for the very day of your first show (then plus a couple of weeks), will have to watch online which isn't so good. Could be worse!

  91. Easter Sunday Smiles to you Sue. Well done Jane, finding your confidence has well and true my paid off, I'm thrilled for you.

You have used one of my all time favourite pastel shades on today's card, I just adore this delicate pink, and along with the black is scrumptious. I really really like this striplet and hoping to see more in your new collection. I've seen some stunning cards made with this die, and after just returning from market, I can put my 'pocket money' towards saving for it.
The Easter bunny has been overly kind this year and left 'on your special Day' and the New Zealand tag dies along with some foil (Debbie Stevens) fault lol, so guess i'll be having some crafting fun next week - must try a shaker card next week as you have shown me there is nothing to be worried about (unless I don't use enough mounting foam) to keep all bits in lol ! I'm so looking forward to ordering and receiving the new CE medium - oh dear, I'm tired so my brain is refusing to work lol, time to sign out and rest, so I'll send my usual hugs to you Sue and those lovely friends made here and on fb - you know who you are xxx

  98. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Happy Easter! And what a beautiful card to celebrate such a wonderful occasion, it's equally, if not more, scrumptious than the Thornton chocolate eggs I have sitting half scoffed:-) I just adore the colour palette, blush, black and white, it reminds me of some Art Deco cross stitch roses I had framed in black. The ornate octagon is a current favourite of mine, I used it on my mums Easter card AND Mothers Day card. I really will have to build up my tag collection though because they are so versatile. An opulent and stylish creation Sue, thanks for yet more inspiration of the highest standard.
It's been busy busy busy this Easter with hair, nail, doctors, hospital appointments so my tail is in a spin. My brother visited today and put his and my life in his hands by changing the light fitting in my bathroom. I have been managing on one of the five bulbs for some time now which has definite advantages, mainly being that my face is in permanent soft lighting making the ravages of time less obvious:-) it took us two hours with William on a chair with a broken screwdriver and no natural light....I stood there with my arm stretched holding my mobile to provide a glimmer of light.....when it was eventually 'fixed' we turned the electricity back on but with no success:-( . Thus another dismantling of said light resulted in the discovery of a loose wire that the faulty screwdriver couldn't secure, the only solution being a trip to B&Q for a new one.....I didn't have the energy to change my nightwear so I threw on a winter coat and went in my slippers with the fashion police in hot pursuit:-), it seemed silly just getting dressed for a five minute trip, mad I know but many people do it nowadays....at least I didn't have heated rollers in as well! Screwdriver purchased we set about testing the light again after securing the wire and hey presto, let there be light!
William made the fatal mistake of boasting about his prowess.....at making a proper trifle ladies!....so I coerced him into promising to make me one next weekend, who can resist the prospect of a good british classic with custard, sponge fingers, jelly and fruit?mmmmm!
Whilst I was distracted this afternoon, Brodie took the opportunity to ransack my craftroom stealing a roll of organza ribbon and hiding it in the spare bedroom.....I think he had aspirations of creating an Easter card for his mummy but couldn't open the cupboard to reach the cosmic shimmer glue:-)
Congrats to all the recent winners, especially Deb C, how lovely to see you back on the blog, you're much missedxxx
Easter hugs to Yvonne, Beth, Maria, Theresa, Alison and scamp, Lynda, Lorraine, Linda, jan, Rebecca, p and miss pushy and pamxxx
