I would love to try this as I have to make a special card for a lady who is very arty ( so I think she would like this) but I have no waxed paper, I wonder if it would work rubbing a candle over some grease proof paper? I might try that .

  65. Hi Sue. A beautiful spring like card today to go with the sunny but frosty morning here, so deceiving, if it wasn't for the glistening of the frost you'd think it was Summer (apart from the temp of course) !!!
Will try to watch your tutorial before I come out of hibernation just for the day to visit my two very special girls - my daughter and new grand-daughter, it will take 'my keeper' lol to go and warm the car up to sauna temperature for me before I leave for Yorkshire, I may have a slight detour as there is a well known Northern craft shop near our daughter that the car struggles to drive past, no matter how hard I try to drive straight on, it always ends up on the car park of this store, it would be rude not to go in and bow to all the Wilsonette favourites now wouldn't it ? Hence needing to watch the tutorial 'just in case'I still have to try the other two techniques so what's a third between friends, besides, it may help bring back the enthusiasm to craft again which I've lost since Christmas.
So for now Sue, I will send you gentle hugs, and my thoughts are still very much with you xxx

  69. Hi Sue,
Yummy, this card. Wonderful colours and brilliant technique. We did some batik at school and I loved it on fabric, too.
Anne Crawford - you don't need waxed paper as far as I can tell. The batik effect is created by folding the card, the stamps heat embossed with white and the colour clouds.

  86. Good morning dearest Sue and the Wilsonette band,
I wish i still had the top that echos your beautiful colours and the flowers that are embossed into it as Mum made it for me when i was young as i went on and on about a top i had seen someone wearing when we were up the town in Stirling. Now at this point i was about 9 or 10 so the flower power age had totally passed by me like the rock and roll drindle skirts and dresses from the early 60's that i just loved and suited my shape down to the ground. But it was the top that Mum made with drawing a candle on the fabric and colouring over it just like your bonnie card today and the colours are oh so pretty. Sorry Sue, high jacked your blog again to go down memory lane but it is amazing how things that you see bring back memories that are long in the past. Thank you Sue for a brilliant video and the memory that it brought back. Hugs are coming out to you via hug post just to let you know you are being thought about.
Tracy flower, oh i am so pleased that you are now finished that horrible lot of treatment but please rest as your body is asking you to, it needs to build up its strength and repair and heal the ravaging that it has taken over this past long while. Sending you hugs flower.
Pearl come and join the retired club, you will wonder how you ever fitted work in. I was ill-health retired from a job i loved at the age of 44 five years ago, i still miss it but i have made some beautiful friends that i would not have met if i had still been working. Not getting out much they make my day into something wonderful and they come down and see me for coffee and a putting the world right time so it gives me something to look forward to. So enjoy your retirement when it comes Pearl and start planning on what you can get up to.
Well Wilsonettes i will leave you all the now and have a great day with hugs there for anyone that needs them or could just do with one,
    love and crafty hugs

As I have said so many times before I have never met a Sue card that I didn't like but once in a while along comes something like this that quite literally makes me gasp in pure delight. I am going to watch the video after I have commented and am getting the impression from some of the comments that it could be messy. Gorgeous x
Quiet day today. Seemed to have developed a cough over night. A tickly cough - really frustrating. Sounds like I have been a 40 a day smoker for the last 40 years. Hoping it will calm down before bed otherwise I am in for a sleepless night.
PEARL - a lady of leisure then?! Most of the people I know who have retired don't know how they ever had the time to work. Enjoy x
Short comment tonight (thank goodness I hear you cry)! Can't wait any longer to watch Today's video.
Take care everyone and I am sending you all love and happy thoughts.
Few people missing today - hope you are ok
    Crafty hugs
    Yvonne

  135. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Boy do I love a video day, particularly when I am being treated to a brand new technique. I had never came across Batik before now...what an ignoramus!.....so today was a real revelation to which I am fully converted. A brilliant effect with the minimum of fuss and mess, what more could a girl with OCD want?:-) I just love the colour choice, it reminds me of Easter and the candy coloured eggs. I have stamped and embossed in white before to great effect, I love the subtlety. I'm hoping to get some dies this next week or so and the cathedral background could wiggle into my basket:-) Thanks for the inspiration Sue, you're a star, as alwaysxxx
Rain, rain, go away, don't come back till another day.....you had to be brave or stupid to face the elements today, I'll leave it up to you to decided which camp I fall into:-) But venture out I must, I had a bank account to open as a matter of urgency...I've been awarded 30days of respite breaks by my local council and have to have a special bank account to hold the funds in. There are a lot of rules attached to where you go and how much you spend but it will be lovely to get the odd break away from my Mum...for her sanity as much as mine!...because being a carer can be a stressful and tiring endeavour.
We also needed to stock up on some goodies from M&S food hall....too many desserts and not enough real food I'm afraid.....but that all came second to providing my dieting divas with their prawns:-)...if the scales fail to register an improvement due to their weakness for shellfish we have been warned that a weight loss advisor and support group could be utilised!??!, it's Slimworld for felines....I wonder if they have a points system?
A friend of mine called me today because she'd had a feeling since the weekend that something was wrong with me, spooky or what? I had to tell her about my Dad passing but isn't it weird that she had this sense of foreboding since his death without having any knowledge of his illness....
Pearl, enjoy your retirement and all that extra time on your hands to get up to some mischief, I had to 'retire' in my late twenties due to my health so I have been spoiled for time to do my crafts and such, I do hope that you get as much satisfaction if not more with this new chapter in your lifexxx
Yvonne, I knew it, you were hung over after your shenanigans weren't you? A drunken oompah loompah disturbing the peace with a young man in a thong without any elastic, oh my, those visions will keep me awake tonight I can assure you! I'm so glad you enjoyed yourself you old reprobate, what fun we would have if we ever were to meet:-) , you with your questionable dress sense and me with my habit of ending the night with my head in a bucket! We're not as young as we behave are we? It takes a week to recuperate after a night out nowadays so hope your feeling less exhausted today my dearxxxx
