Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello crafters!  The first card giveaway of 2016 is one of the demo cards from my Dec. shows.  I started by cutting a frame using the Double Pierced Squares Set B out of blush card.  This gave me a platform for making a frame from the Delicate Filigree Buckle Bar die.  I cut four of them in white, then added a black strip to the back, leaving the lacy edge open on each of them.  I connected all the buckles to form the square, then taped them and added mounting foam to the back to raise them for dimension.  I added a piece of black card behind the frame and created a dark backdrop for the centre dies.  I cut two of the Zoe dies in white and crisscrossed them and added them to the centre of the frame.  I stamped my sentiment on blush card and cut it out with an oval die from the Zoe.  I added black shadow ovals around it and placed it in the centre of the card.  The card was completed with a white pierced mat, a thin blush and black mat and another white mat layer.  The finished dimensions are 8 1/4" x  8 1/4" in size.  Please leave me a comment if you would like to be included in the drawing to win this card.  The winner will be drawn and announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

  134. Dear sweet Sue, love the buckle dies and how different they look. I bought these, but haven't had time to play yet. Hoping to this weekend, it's our monthly crop. A bunch of us girls get together at a local church and spend Friday and Saturday scrapbooking and card making. We bring our paper and tools, snacks to munch on, and sometimes we have demos. We don't meet in Dec. with all the holidays, so I am so looking forward to some creative time.

Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes for my family, it does mean more than you know. I feel honored to reciprocate for all on this list fighting a battle, an illness, and even the unsaid needs. We were not created to journey through this life alone, so bless you all.

  140. Love today's card Sue, the colour scheme makes for a refreshing change even though it's not a colour I would ordinarily choose. It is fab.
Wishing you a safe trip back to the states but please don't stay away too long.
Txcowgirl, sorry to hear Greg's news wasn't the best and I wish him all the best in his new challenge. Huggles for both your daughters.
Well Amazon delivery messed up which now means I have two reels of removable tape and a five pound credit! Worked out good in the end then :) . My tool n one has arrived and the rest of my goodies have now been dispatched. With two of my other children asking what I would like for my birthday I think Friday will be a good day.
I forgot to say I had good news about my biopsies so that's great I must try to remember to tell my Mum.
I have a cold threatening me, I am stiffly and getting more aches and pains than usual plus my voice keeps fading as my chest/ribs hurt. I hope it holds off, fingers crossed.
I still haven't done that paperwork or crafted so hoping to change that tomorrow.
Love n hugs to all in need.
Wishing good things to all xxx

  145. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Good golly gosh what a Wowzers of a card and boy am I envious of the eventual foster mum to this little beauty- it has only been a month or two since I was gifted a Sue original, does it seem a tad presumptuous, nay greedy, of me to expect to be in with a chance to win another so soon? Please consider me Sue, I only ask because this is in all seriousness the most stunning example of your genius that I've seen in recent times. Not only does it have one of my favoured colour palettes, blush and black, but it also features my most lusted after die of the moment the buckle bar, so it must be fate that it falls into my lap:-)
How much do I love this card...how much do I love my right arm more like.....it's perfection! I loved your demo with the shaker card and was so tempted to give my bank manager an aneurism by purchasing it- I'll have to wait abit longer, but it's versatility is undeniable, I love it as a frame. Good luck everyone, whoever wins has bagged themselves a classic.
Had a mixed bag today, was meant to have a relaxing caci facial...my jowls are grazing the ground again....but Rachel hadn't received her delivery of some crucial gel so it's been shifted to Saturday...hmmm, guess I'll just have to put up with a mono brow and looking like Jabba the Hut:-). Decided to give my craftroom a clean, not of the intensive spring variety, more like a lick and a promise- still finding it hard to motivate myself,,,,who said lazy? Sorted out my scrap card by colour and filled it away never to see the light of day no doubt, but the thought was in the right place. Then I steamed the wooden floors before sinking into the sofa with a warm drink and A Place in the Summer Sun, ahh, total escapism- I've put five lines on tonight's rollover lottery so at least for a few hours I can pretend that it's me being ferried around the Algarve looking for a holiday home.....
Anybody got some New Years resolutions that they are struggling with, I was going to cut down on my sugar intake and it was going remarkably well whilst I had a hangover but unfortunately I've fallen off the wagon and had a massive piece of cheesecake and a bar of Lindt chocolate- it's not to loss weight, more to regulate my glucose levels which is proving to be an unconvincing reason for reform. Life without cake isn't a life worth living...and my family have virtually force fed me the chocs such is there strong feelings on the subject, I don't think that I behave like The Hulk when my body is starved of refined white powder but they do:-)
Hope you are all having a splendiferous start to the year, particularly Yvonne, Beth, Wheely bad, Rebecca, Jan, Maria, Theresa, Lorraine, Linda, Saba and so many more of you lovely ladies. Hugs to allxxxxxx

Healing hugs to Tracy, Melody and Francis, txcowgirl and Greg and Lorraine, hope that cold is a false alarm, I've been sneezing all day with a runny nose too but I told my mum I'm allergic to cigarette smoke....it wasn't met with much sympathy to my affliction:-)
