Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi bloggers!  I just want to let you know that this will be the last card giveaway until the new year as it is just such a busy period that last two weeks of the year.  I thought I would just try to simplify things a bit and then we can pick it back up the first Wednesday in January.   Today's card giveaway is one of the demos from my shows this past weekend.  I started by cutting the Meridian Edger across the top and the bottom of the card, alternating it to fit the space.  I used the smaller of the ovals in the Cathedral Background too cut an aperture in the centre of the card. I backed this piece with aqua card and added mounting foam to the back to raise it.  I cut the centre die from the Cathedral Background and recessed it down into the aperture.  Using the two oval dies, I cut a thin frame and added it around the aperture opening.  The Blushing Roses were cut in aqua card, backed in white and assembled.  I sprayed all of them with glue then glittered them with Diamond Snow.  I seated the larger rose on a satin ribbon bow and added a few leaves around it.  The smaller two roses were added to the opposite side with leaves.  I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with the inside of the Zoe die, inked it with Aqua Adirondack ink and added it to the centre of the card with foam.  The card was completed with a pierced white mat, a thin aqua mat and another white mat.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x 9 1/2" in size.  Last chance to win a card this year, just leave a comment and I will announce the winner on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

    Remember me??!!
Not been about for a while.
Beautiful card - love the roses - another die on my list!!!
Had a lot going on and consequently my body decided that it was going to go on strike. It is back now but on very reduced hours.
I have not managed to look at the blog much at all over the last couple of weeks but was able to watch you on Hochanda from my horizontal position.
It is George's 18th Birthday today so I am feeling old - my youngest turning 18 - aagghhhh!!!!
Just a quick comment for now - will be breaking myself in gently over next few days. I really have no idea as to what has been going on with everyone so I am sending all big warm Christmassy hugs and love.
    Have a lovely day

  105. Hi Sue, Hi Everyone,
What a beautiful card! I love the pastel colours and the blushing roses are wonderful, especially with the diamond sparkles on them. Whoever is lucky enough to become the owner of this card will be more than delighted with it, I'm sure.
I ventured out for the first time in three weeks yesterday. I'd finally got my voice back after two weeks of silence and felt well enough to go and pick up a couple of things. I got soaked to the skin when the heavens decided to open when I stepped off the bus! By the time I'd visited just two shops I was exhausted so struggled back to the bus stop to catch the next one home (down on the 9:55 back on the 10:50). The driver got there early and, even though he was going off for a quick break, he let us all on to get warm. If anything, by the time we got to my stop, the weather was even worse but instead of rushing off home, I stayed by the bus to make sure than one of my neighbours, Jack, managed to get off the bus okay. he's in his 90s and has to walk with an elbow crutch and the bus step is a bit high. Boy was I glad to get in, get fussed over by the dog and strip off my soaked jacket. shirt and jeans and find some warm, dry clothes to put on. Ah the joys of winter...I'm not leaving the house again until after Christmas if I can get away with it lol.

  113. Good afternoon Sue and the wilsonettes,
This is such a soft elegant card Sue in the pale aqua and ivory/cream and the sparkle dust on it glinting in the light to say "hey i'm here as well". What a beautiful card to adorn anyones fireplace mantel and what a stunning giveaway card to which we would all surely love it to come to rest at our home. I hope have a wonderful Christmas Sue having fun and laughter after what seems to have been such a busy year where you have never stopped to delight. Please give your wee mum a hug from me as i can't hug mine as they deserve that extra special kindness and care as although you have reached the age you are, you will always be your mum's little girl that she is so justly proud of. Thank you for the kindness that you have shown and the support that you have given i count myself very lucky to know such lovely people.

  116. Hi Sue & All The Wilsonettes!
I hope you are all well & have not been affected, too much, by the awful weather we've had across the country? I feel SO sorry for those who have had their lives destroyed by the floods, it is heartbreaking! Thankfully, it is dry here, although VERY cold! I hope that you've all managed to escape this awful flu, that's been going around? My Mum & I had it, a few weeks ago & we are still not over it!
We cannot seem to get motivated to do anything towards Christmas, as we have lost some very good friends, lately! Anyway, you don't want to hear any more of that!!
I have been very busy, for the last two weeks, catching up on making my Christmas cards, as I am very late (due to having this flu & not moving from the fire!)! I have also been in pain with bladder stones (AGAIN!)! I have been informed that my operation won't be until January! I have been waiting since May, which was when I had my pre-op!
I must say that the cards I have made with your dies Sue, have been absolutely stunning & all the recipients have made lovely comments on them!
The card you've done today looks really beautiful & I would love to be the recipient of such a wonderful masterpiece!
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all A VERY Happy Christmas & A Happy, Healthy New Year!
    With Love & Best Wishes,
    From,
    Mary Blight XXX

  153. Hi Sue, a lovely clean, crisp and fresh card. I think I have used more of the aqua card this year than I have of my favourite lilac/lavender, it always looks so good. I have the blushing rose dies and am looking forward to using them more in the coming months now that I can give reindeer and snowmen a break for a while. As others have said, we don't come to the blog for the give-aways (great though they are) we come for the inspiration, friendliness and caring that we all share both with you and each other. If even such a small change means you can spend more time with your family and friends then I say 'go for it'.

Tracy - hope the current round of chemo hasn't upset you too much and you are looking forward to Christmas.

Yvonne G - Good to see you back, take it easy now and don't do anything silly.

Missing so many of our regular friends especially Melody and Molly, hope everything is ok with them.
    Frances
