Thinking Of You

Good Sunday morning all!  A card in basic black and white for today, always a favourite combo of mine.  I started by cutting two of the Portuguese Borders in white and gluing them on the sides of another piece of white card.  I inked the Lavish Accented Design Noble with Clear Perfect Medium and letterpressed it on to a piece of black card.  I coated it with clear embossing powder and heated it for a shiny embossed letterpress design.  I cut the Sintra die in white and backed it with black then cut the inside to create a frame.  I used the next die smaller and cut it into the Noble design, leaving a black inner edge to show through the Sintra frame.  I used the inner die from the Sintra and cut it in white, using the smaller die to create a frame as well.  I stamped my sentiment and layered all the die cuts over it so it looked like a recessed framed sentiment.  I added white flatback pearls as accents and completed the card with my usual mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x  8 1/4" in size.

The winners of the weekly Comment Game are:

Sonia Stephenson!!!
Liz Spooner!!!
Elsie Smith!!!

Congratulations all!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize!

I made a bit of a mistake yesterday and uploaded the wrong photos!  So sorry about that, here are the correct ones that should have been put up yesterday!

The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  7 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Well today's card is very sophisticated and beautiful, a real treat for us. Oh Sue I'm not surprised you made a carefully planned accidental post yesterday, it's such a busy time of year for all of us, bput for people who have cards to make yo blog as well as their day to day work it's more than ok for you to slip up once in a while. I think you did it as a little test to see who actually watches your video ! I know I'm guilty yesterday of not watching, it was so late when I got to comment, I've just sat down to watch it now whilst the house is quiet, I just loved the sentiment you used! My daughter has just arrived home from university after a 15 hour journey so we've had a lot of chatting and laughter, she's still asleep this morning so I will lye her rest. Have a lovely day

  74. Morning, Sue,
Hi Everyone. Another stunning b&w study today, Sue. It's brilliant. I think the best part, for me, was the letterpress clear embossing on the black card. That is most definitely something that I want to try...that reminds me...I need to order some black cardstock lol.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend and that all Christmas preparations are either sorted or well on the way to getting sorted. I stayed at home yesterday as they were saying that it was going to be the busiest shopping day. I only need to go to town to get my pills to last me over Christmas so I don't see the point in getting crushed just for that lol.
Yesterday I made a couple of tree decorations using beads, hot glue and dead light bulbs. I was sitting at my worktop wondering why my little finger was hurting...then realised that the glue gun was dripping red hot glue onto it...ah the things we go through for our craft lol.
Congratulations to this week's comment winners. Love to everyone and HUGE gentle hugs to Melody, Francis and Molly.

We've got all the gifts, now I'm wrapping in batches. Still have cards to write for family that I'll see this week. Managed 4 basic cards with kit items and some dies for special people but I'm finding a couple of hours at it a day more than enough. Town yesterday finished me off so I slept very well last night, 3 hours in total today on Christmas stuff and I fell asleep after tea at 7:30pm only to wake at 1am to a dog crossing his paws... (enough said lol) its 3am now and I'm off to put postal codes on envelopes for Mr W to post in the morning- which is what I was going to do after tea! All local thank goodness as I have left it late. I still conceed that I mislaid 4 weeks from mid November to mid December- thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

Postcodes and bed... cleaner here at 11am! Fingers crossed I'll see you all later today. Sending big hugs and happy thoughts to everyone, got plenty extra hugs if they're needed and Billy is always up for a cuddle if it's required,
