You're Amazing

Hi bloggers!  Today's card offering is one that I did for a new magazine article for Die Cutting Essentials, issue 4 (now available).  I thought I would post it here in case you didn't see it!  I started by embossing a piece of milk card with the Checkerboard Pinpoint embossing folder for a bit of texture to my background.  Next I cut four of the Arched Lattice Adornment out of milk card.  I glued two of the to the top and bottom centres of the card.  I cut a square of blush card and glued the remaining two of them so that the flat edges came together in the centre.  I mounted it in the centre of the card with the seams going down the very centre of the card.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the centre of the Canadian tag and used some Tattered Rose distress ink to shade it while still in the die.  I cut a Canadian tag out of milk card to seat it upon.  I added a double row of cream pearls down both sides of the card as an embellishments.  Finally, I cut a Greek Island Border out of milk card and inked it with both Antique Linen and Tattered Rose and cut it in half and added each piece diagonally across the card, tucking the ends under the tag.  I added a milk pierced mat, a thin blush mat layer and another milk mat.  The finished size is 7" x  8 3/4".  All for now, Sue x

  24. Morning dear Sue.
Wow, what a way to start the week. Stunningly beautiful. Those configurations collection are amazing. For a new crafter that has just started collecting dies and hasn't yet got to the addiction stage as we have, if all they can afford is the configuration dies they have the tools to make so many different variations of cards, that's how brilliant these dies are. I love the design of today's card Sue, it's a tiny bit similar to a wedding gift bag I made a few weeks ago, when I made each side a different design and these dies played a big part in the design.
I must look out for this magazine as I've not heard of it either.
Thanks for the update on Robbie Pam, yes I read your message thank you and I'm so pleased he continues to make progress .
Johns shows were very informative yesterday especially the tip Ang passed on to him, and the buckle card he made was stunning.
Hope you had a great weekend Sue, and I'll leave you with hugs and kisses as usual.
    Have a smashing day.

    Morning Sue
Well we definitely have Autumn this morning. It's still dark, damp and really miserable outside which can only mean that it's got to be a CRAFTING DAY!!!

Sue what a beautiful and very elegant gift you have given us for the start of the week and with just that tiny tiny hint of rose I couldn't ask for anything more.
Your efolder is one of my 'go to' folders and your Arched Lattice Adornment die is really to die for. Again it is a die which if I'm not careful always jumps into my hands to use. So all in all I really cannot ask for more.

To all in pain and suffering today I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

  50. Morning Sue,
A stunning card this morning, I will have keep an eye out for the magazine.

I actually got round to using my gold glittered texture paste last night, it was so easy to use compared to other brands I've tried. it looked lovely, yes I remembered to clean my stencil lol. I am hoping to cut poinsettias out of it to see whate they're like.

Dark cold and wet here today, looking after my 17 month old grandson today a little too young for that sort of crafting he likes the building blocks, so we will be building towers for him to knock down. Just like his big brother used to lol.

This evening I'll try cutting the poinsettias out.

    Have a great day

  91. Greetings Sue & WW!
Just made a late post on yesterday's card - then made the mistake of looking at today's before going to sleep.
Oh my oh my what an absolute beauty!!!! I'm too sleepy eyed to see it clearly and comprehend the instructions (I'm sure they r very clear - it's just me that lacks clarity). I had that EF in my basket at Joanna Sheen (online) the other night, but had to remove it because I was spending too much money. Oh drat, I want, I want! (there's the now 52 year old child coming out in me!). What a beautiful and special card. Eager to get some sleep and examine it more closely in the morning. Eager to read everyone's comments too.
    Hugs everyone!

The ivy is one of my favourites and is on my wish list. It's climbing closer to the top now that I've managed to find a brilliantly priced set of the winter trees, which I've been searching for online. A lot of places are still out of stock but I found one place which had it on offer for under £10, with free shipping...so I'm a VERY happy bunny right now :)

  110. Hi Sue, oh dear, I hate it when this happens but I'm afraid this card doesn't shout at me for some reason. I love all the elements and it is beautifully put together with subtle colouring but maybe it is the double row of pearls that don't quite suit? I think a single row would probably be more to my liking. So sorry.

  138. Good Afternoon fabulous Sue and her crafty crew,

what a truly splendiferous card Sue, i love the colour palette and the design is absolutely stunning-I don't have any Configurations dies as yet, this is something that i must remedy ASAP, but fortunately i have all the other components:-) i know that the double row of pearls isn't to everyones tastes but i think it finishes the card off beautifully-i bought some the other day along with a few bits and bobs only to discover that i already had one of the EF's and the gilding wax already!?! i try to keep an inventory of all of my dies, EF's and stamps but i have been a bit lax of late-to be honest, i'm buying at such a rate of naughts that i haven't kept it up to date for a while...do you think this means that i have more than enough stash to deal with?....No, I don't think so either:-)
i'm feeling rather guilty that i missed commenting yesterday, but i had a rather challenging day. It started with a seizure, then i had a load of housework to catch up on so that by the time John's shows started i was frazzled and having absences so I don't remember much of his demos:-( Idecided, to my cost, to risk taking Brodie for a walk before dinner...yes, you guessed it, he broke off his lead yet again as he tried to shimmy up a tree. That's twice in less than 24hrs, will I never learn? He eventually sauntered home at 7.30pm wondering why I was in such a state of high anxiety-I've tried to keep him in his routine whilst my Mum is away but i think that I should keep him in until she returns tomorrow, if not for his safety, my sanity!
Rebecca, glad you had such a lovely day in the mountains, and yes, you're right, our furry four paws don't realise the stress they put us through do they:-( Nevermind, they are so worth the aggro
Yvonne, you've been a busy bee, your roast dinner had my mouth watering-i couldn't be bothered cooking for one so late after Brodies return, i had a piece of caramel and apple pie instead. i remember Spangles, I loved them so much that I named a cat that we had briefly when i was growing up after them..do you remember Splicers?M&S do Battenberg biscuits, they are nice, but i'm with you, whats the point without a thick layer of marzipan...yum!
Beth, hope you are okay dear, missed your little anecdotes and hope you are back soon
    Ditto to Deb Cx
i have a subscription to the mag Sue featured in, you get it from MoreMags
Healing hugs to all who need them, have a wonderful, if a bit damp and dreary, dayx

A very ornate card, loving it immensely.

Is anyone else experiencing problems with Bloglovin?
I no longer seem to get a link via email to look in and comment. I used to get mine early in the morning now it sometimes does not get to my inbox until late in the day.
I do however get the email from Particraft. Strange.

  154. Hi Sue

I love it and I have all bar one of the dies! Those little configurations dies are a must and so affordable. Also can I add my voice to those who want the (bugger, don't remember the name) embossing folder, the one that looks like rows of scalloped pearls... darn, you know, the one mentioned over the weekend (I just read back over the weekends'posts). Anyway, it's on the neeeeed list. Warn Creative Expressions as I think they'll need to have a lot of them manufactured.

Also on the Embossing folder front I fully support the Idea of smaller folders. I ended up buying a second hand Grand Calibur as I loved the design of the bigger folders and was frustrated with the choice (at the time) of many smaller folders. Today it dawned on me that smaller folders have smaller designs that can be incorporated with the bigger patterns. I'd suggest that not only is it those with smaller machines that like them as a result.

I've missed a lot so I will try to rectify that now.

Melody- happy belated birthday. I hope your sleep helped you and you got spoilt with presents. I haven't stopped thinking about you, Francis, Molly and the rest of your family, sending special birthday hugs and wishes your way xxxx

Tracy- I hope going to work was ok, been thinking about you too and sending you a special hug too xxxx

Frances Fluffycat, happy belated 45th wedding anniversary, hope it was a special a day as your wedding day xxxx

I saw a lot of discussion on TV programmes. Everything stops in this house for NCIS! I'll watch CIS etc if it's on. I remember 'This life' but at the time I preferred Buffy the Vampire Slayer! Looking forward to bake off final Wednesday :-) Am feeling inspired to bake a nice treat to munch while it's on! Been hankering after fruit scones with spread and jam of late (creamless tea!). No idea why. Normally when I get the baking bug it's cake.

Mr W just got home and needs to moan about work. If I worked where he worked, I'd moan too!

Feeling a bit better, Billy doing a grand job as my assistant and my hot water bottle. He's barely left my side this last week (apart from "W.A.L.K's that is!). Finding reading screens quite uncomfortable even with the brightness right down. Will be dark glasses tomorrow!

Sending hugs and happy thoughts to everyone, extra hugs and hands to hold if you need it.

  163. Sue, this is so elegant!!! I especially love the lattice work in that beautiful die, really added beautiful texture on top of the embossing folder. The ivy really adds a wonderful touch too, and I love how you keep the coloring so light and delicate. I tend to go for more vibrant colors, and love the way you use so much white and how it adds such beauty and elegance to your cards. I am such a fan!!!

Thanks for all I learn from you here on your blog and all of your tutorials!!!

Do you have any kind of a master index on your tutorials? Sometimes I KNOW I've seen a particular die or other Creative Expressions product in your tutorial, but it isn't so easy to go back and find it. Was just thinking it would be a wonderful tool, but I know it would take a massive amount of work--was hoping that perhaps it was already available, but I just didn't know where to find it.

    Best wishes,

    Joanne Lowe

    1. I agree that would be fabulous to have. I do understand that if it doesn't already exist, it would be a tremendous amount of work...but if it is out there, I'd love to know! More than once I've gone looking for a specific one, only to get lost in others...which I don't mind except when I'm in a rush to do a certain project.

  164. I was specifically referring to your YouTube videos, but it would be handy to have a master index for all of your tutorials, whether they are in video or written form... :)

    Thanks so much,
