Thanks

Hi crafters!  A lovely little thank you card for today.  I started with the Portuguese background die and cut it in white.  I nipped it in half on my paper cutter and put the two halves together and took a bit more out of the middle to make it more narrow to fit my sentiment nicely.  I taped it back together and added foam pieces to the back and mounted it over another piece of white card.  I matted it with a nice blue card that I found in my craft stash.  Next I stamped a variety of sizes of the Perfect Peony matching stamp called Shaded Peony using a Clear Perfect medium on to the same blue card.  I heat embossed all the flowers in white embossing powder and cut them out with the matching dies.  I assembled all the flowers by giving them a bit of shaping with a stylus  and offset each flower using two cut flowers.  I added flatback white pearls in each of their centres.  I cut several of the Maidenhair fern die in white to add around the flowers which I used in opposite corners to hide my cut lines in the background die.  I cut the Vertical Thanks out of white and then cut the letter only die separately out of the matching blue card and glued them underneath the word in the centre.  I added mounting foam and secured it in the centre of my frame.  I completed the card by adding my usual trademark paper piercing around a white mat layer.  A thin blue mat and a larger white mat were then added to finish the card.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/4"  x  8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  24. Hi Sue & Lovely Wilsonettes

What a gorgeous card to perceive on this slightly cooler morning, I love everything about it & as I have these items then I will putting card to make on my list...THANK YOU...x x x

If I may Sue I would like to send the sentiment right back at you to THANK YOU for a simply lovely afternoon yesterday at CE HQ...I'm so glad I met you because you really are a lovely, lovely lady making us feel at ease immediately we entered the "air conditioned" room...lol...& Wow when you were demonstrating I could see the deep passion that you have for your card making come shining through tenfold...that in itself is very inspiring.

Sorry I didn't ask too many questions...I was more than happy just to watch & take it all in watching an amazing artist in her element.

Myself along with the other lovely ladies who attended the demo learned such a lot, I'm sure they would agree with me, there were fantastic tips the whole way through & although Sue does some fantastic demo videos I seemed to have learned a lot more actually watching Sue in person.

Sue you are Matriarch of all crafters...& I for one was so thrilled that Steve had the day off so that I could attend...because of his shifts it is rare that I get to go to workshops or demonstrations so going to Sues demo was to me the icing on the cake.

THANK YOU Sue...the demo was inspiring...you really are wonderful for having given your time so freely yesterday as much as you do on your fantastic blog...hope those ladies join...lol... so that we may learn the art of your masterpieces and of course some good laughs were had to boot.

Linda...I sincerely hope that you had a fantastic Birthday...sending you lots of love and (((((Hugs))))) dear friend and sending you wishes for the year ahead to be a happy one for you...did you get dies for your birdie x x x x x

Sorry I didn't get to comment yesterday my friends but Wednesdays temperature of 37.5 degrees (not even cooler in the shade or indoors with the fans)kinda blew my socks off, I just felt so ill & I couldn't even eat, even had to go to work and to top it all I had a card to finish for someone very special, couldn't do it Wednesday so I needed to spend yesterday morning, (before my bath, hair wash and then work)completing the card so it could be passed on just after work.

Please accept my apologies Sue & my Wilsonette friends hope you managed to cope with the soaring temperatures better than I did, we had a tiny bit of rain but no thunderstorm to clear the air...

For those in need I send you (((((hugs)))))x x x to keep you through the day and to Sue & my special friends (you know who you are) I send Love and (((((hugs))))) in bundles and but to all lovely Wilsonettes I send you (((((Hugs))))) and wishes that you stay healthy and happy through this hot weather. Take care Love Beth B x x x

I am waiting for my Portuguese die to arrive... such a slow business being in Australia.

The beautiful blue is the perfect accent for the die and the flowers... and who knew you could get a stamp to match? Well, my shopping list gets ever longer.

Thank you for your inspiring posts; they really keep my creative juices flowing and I seem to have gained much more in confidence since trying so many of your different techniques.

  61. Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,

Well, a delightful pretty card to start off my day. A lovely composition of dies and flowers. Only you can do that Sue.
Although I haven't got the stamp set, I do have lots of patterned paper in my stash and the open petal dies so my flowers will be slightly different to yours.

I hope everyone is enjoying the tennis? This is my official fortnight's holiday where I do as I please in order to not feel guilty watching so much tennis.
Yesterday's matches were brilliant. Murray and Federer through and the absolutely on the edge of your set, knickergripping match between Rafael Nadal and Dustin Brown. Wow! 2 very evenly matched players, shame only one could win.

Whatever you are doing in this mini heat wave, drink plenty of water/fluids and if a out and about, don't forget the suntan lotion!

    Love & hugs to all

  78. Good morning Sue & friends,
What a gorgeous way to say thank you! The more I see those peony dies the more I love them,
Having the matching stamp gives you the opportunity of being able to 'batch cut loads of them in white,
(I usually get Paul to do the 'batch' cutting) then when you are making up your card you could just stamp
Them up in the colour you are using!
They make a great corner feature, as do all of your flowers as you make them in such a variety of sizes!
Thank you Sue, for the wonderful inspiration!
I hope all of you ladies that visited (CE) towers yesterday for your demo day had an amazing time!

This is just so lovely and the flowers are a delight, love it. Thank you for all that you do Sue, the wonderful inspiration from your blog and the you tube videos not to mention all the fantastic dies, embossing folders and stamps that you design. Would have loved to have been at your demonstration but would need someone to build a bridge over from Northern Ireland first !!

    Hugs and best wishes everyone

  144. Good afternoon Sue and the fabulous Wilsonettes,
Oh Sue what a really pretty card you have made for our delight today, it is gorgeous and oh i so wish that i could make it but since i only have the flower dies, i doubt if it would turn out even remotely similar to yours. I love the colour of blue that you have used as the accent, bright and alive colour of blue. I hope that you have the sun where you are today as we finally have a sunny day(i am touching against my oak computer desk the whole time i am typing here so that i don't jinx it). I have wee light puffs of cloud up in the sky not knowing what they want to do but it is not racing that's for sure as they look to lazy today to do that. Coming down from Sauchie as i was dropping Rory of to go his white water rafting, my hills are just the most amazing colours of green today, they just seem alive after having a few days where they seemed positively down for some reason. There is nothing like a beautiful day up here at the Ochils to brign you peace and harmony especially if your other half is a way to work, exquisite.
Rose and Sue have a wonderful day at your daughters weddings both of you, i hope that the girls get as beautiful a day as it is up here is Central Scotland, just wedding day weather for a lovely marque and posh tables and chairs all done up in bows and flowers. What ever your baby girls are having, it will be great and all the better because you are there to see them.
Beth, i am so glad that you had a lovely day yesterday with Sue, she is definitely one in a trillion when it comes to demos and card making and would say to anyone to if they can go and see the grand master at work. I seen our lovely lady last year in Glasgow at Craftworld with a lovely friend i met through here, hello Frances, and we had a ball although Frances has already seen and met Sue a couple of times before, we still had a wonderful time. I don't think my mouth would close shut from drooling the whole time we were watching herm she was just so brilliant.
Well i am away to get things done while i can, have a great day every one and sending hugs to all my Angels both on the blog and not at the moment,
    Love and crafty hugs
    Norah (Glenochil)

    Afternoon Sue
Today's gift has everything I love to receive via a greeting.
Your main die once again stands firm center stage and does all the hard work leaving us to do what we love best in decoration.
Definitely a winner in anyone's book.

We are still scorching here in Burgundy and the forecast is still remaining on hot.
You definitely cannot concentrate when it is like this.

To all in pain and suffering I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. Remember drink lots of water. See you tomorrow.
