Thanks So Much

Hi bloggers! I hope everyone had a great weekend (Maybe you even had a chance to use a few new Christmas dies! LOL)  Today's card uses the Configurations range of dies to create the pretty background layers.  I started by cutting the Elegant Lace Edger out of milk card.  I cut four of the corners and four of the longer edge piece and glued them in place around the edge of a piece of milk card.  I cut a smaller piece of milk card and embossed it with the new Linen Texture embossing folder (8 x 8 size) and matted it with a piece of Periwinkle card.  I cut four more of the same edger die in milk card and glued them into place around the edge of the smaller background piece.  I added mounting foam to this piece for dimension.  I cut the Sintra die in milk and backed it in Periwinkle card for contrast.  I used the centre die to cut it into a frame.  I used the smaller die in the set to cut the next layer in my focal element, also cutting the centre out.  I backed it in periwinkle as well and added it with foam on top.  I stamped my sentiment and covered it with a sticky adhesive piece, then coated it with Diamond Sprinkles.  I centred my sentiment in the aperture opening of the frames and placed the entire piece in the centre of the card.  I cut a couple of small peonies in milk and added them around my sentiment too.  I finished the card with some cream flatback pearls as embellishments and added my usual pierced mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 8 1/4" x  8 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  8. Morning Sue. Wow, what a way to start our week. A truely beautiful card. Christmas dies ? Afraid not Sue, I dont even own the dies used on today's card yet, but I did manage to make a 21st birthday card for a young lady who's favourite colour is black and cream, Mr Lancashire still cant get his head around using black on a card lol but she had plenty of your peony flower's in cream to brighten it up a little ! And a totally opposite 21st for a 'pink girly girl' who loves sparkles and flower's (thank goodness for ice snow)
Hope you had a great weekend Sue.
Sending love n hugs for a good day.

Morning from a very hot but beautiful start to the day here in Marigny.
We are still waiting for some rain as the garden is just a dust bowl and we'll be lucky to get any veggies this year.

I love your dies you have used Sue but for me your gift today is a little too fussy. You are of course a winner with your colour palette.

To all in pain and suffering I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

  27. Good morning Sue,

A very pretty card, just right for my Mum. So lace, feminine and reminiscent of Victoriana.
I have some of these dies but not had a chance to use them much yet.
I have been very busy lately making candles for our Church Fete on 18th July. I shall be selling them to raise funds for Cardiomyopathy UK. They gave me so much support when Pete died from his inherited heart defect of Dilated Cardiomyopathy, and this is my way of saying 'Thank You'

    Love & hugs to all

Stunning card today I love how you've made the background it's so pretty and intricate. I have been Christmas crafting over the weekend with your old and new Christmas dies. I have really enjoyed myself making up the six weeks I couldn't craft lol. I could only make embellishments because I forgot to bring enough cardstock to make the cards (I'm away in the caravan). I have made a herd of deer, I am in love with this set the detail on each one is fabulous. I'm off home today so tomorrow I can actually make complete cards.

  44. Hi Sue,
Lovely start to the week. A really pretty card and I love the colours.
Congratulations to all the winners yesterday. Sorry I didn't comment, I was going to leave a comment later in the day as we had been decorating the bathroom and then I had to go up to Newcastle airport to pick up my sister for 8pm. I was sitting in the car in a lay by near to the airport in a thunderstorm when the phone rang - they had been diverted to Leeds Bradford because of the storm! Anyway eventually picked them up at 9.50 at Newcastle airport so by the time I got back home at 11 I forgot all about leaving a comment! Wasn't too keen on being in the lay-by on my own for that length of time I must say! Hope everyone has as good a day as possible, love and hugs to you all, Alison xxx

  126. Hi Sue,
Love the lacy detail, not sure about the recessed sentiment ,seems a little lost, but still a lovely card.
Yes Deb got the wasp nest sorted had to wait for the Queen to get in the nest and then spray her luckily it was a quite new nest so it was soon dealt with.( yes they are little blighters!)

  135. Good evening Sue and the fabulous Wilsonettes,

I'm afraid that I too have mixed feelings about this design Sue- whilst I love the lace effect and layering , the recessed sentiment appears lost to me....just personal preference I guess, sorry! Whoa, that was difficult, I have never offered constructive criticism before because you can do no wrong in my eyes so this goes against the grain for me.
Anyway, I have been engrossed in Wimbledon today, cheering on my favourites, Murray&Federer so little in the way of crafting done I'm afraid apart from a bit of playing with my Spectrum Noir pencils-I've always loved colouring since I was a little girl, it can be so relaxing and I think the images would look nice with my Noble dies.
Beth, I've been wondering how Lauren's tests went-I do hope that all is well. Big purrs and loves from Brodie, he likes doggies, but Darcey was more ambivalent I'm afraid :-)xxxxx
Love to all our other feathered or furry babies too, and anyone experiencing pain, worry or sadnessxxxxx

    Love and crafty hugs,

  137. I do like it but it is a little too fussy for me.
I think it is the centre die that I find over complicates it a little.
    But that is just me.
