Good Sunday morning all! Today's card uses the Classic Adorned Design Noble to create the background. I cut the outside shape out of a piece of coconut white card to begin. I left the die in place and embossed the remaining aperture using the Leafy Quad embossing folder. This can only be done by leaving the folder open and compensating the loss of the thickness with extra card. If you close your folder, the die will cut into it and ruin it! It is a bit of an experiment to try and get the number of sheets of card correct though as it depends on each individual machine I have found. I added mounting foam to my aperture and mounted it onto a slightly larger piece of blue card. Next I used the inside piece to simply deboss the shape from the next die in the set and recessed it into my aperture. I cut the Toronto die in white and backed it in cobalt blue card, cutting the centre out of both at the same time so they matched. I cut the centre shape from that set and recessed it into the middle. I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the centre oval die in the Montreal set and used the slightly larger oval from the Toronto set to back it and mounted t in the middle of the frame. I made several of the Perfect Peonies utilising both the open petal and the complete petal die set. I arranged them on opposite corners and added sprigs of the Maidenhair Fern die as accents. I completed the card with a paper pierced white mat layer, a thin blue mat and a larger white mat. The finished dimensions are 7 1.2" x 8 1/2" in size.

I haven't been able to craft for about six weeks but over the weekend I've been cutting out using the new Christmas collection I had bought and not used. Wow! They are FABULOUS! You have to see them in 'real' life to appreciate the details included in each die. It was the same last year especially with the angel the detail on her bodice is FANTASTIC!
Well Sue it was a year today I met you in Haverfordwest it was such a nice day hope you'll visit again. It's also my eldest son's birthday so I'm taking him out later for a meal and have some surprises for him that he doesn't know about lol

Something strange is happening outside in my corner of West Sussex this morning, it is raining!!! It is long overdue but sad for all the local events planned for today! Good morning Sue and the lovely Wilsonettes,
ReplyDeleteWhat a deliciously intricate card for today, you are really loving the blue tones at the moment Sue and I can see why, it is so summery. I love the French navy tone, it works particularly well with the open and full petal peonies, the contrast with the coconut white is gorgeous.
Huge congrats to the lucky comment winners, I am sure that you will have hours of fun with your prizes.
No rain and thunderstorms for Stirling today so I may take my niece and nephew to the park to feed the ducks and swans later- I'd take Brodie too but feathers would definitely fly. He has been so restless with the warm weather, so glad I don't have a fur coat to contend with!
I have been putting off buying the newest range of Sues dies in case she appears on C&C soon when I can buy in bulk. Does anyone know when that might be because I am desperate to get the Canadian collection and the lovely peonies!
Hope you all have a lovely , relaxing Sunday.

Congratulations to all the comment winners, ENJOY your prizes.

That is such a pretty card Sue! When I read to leave the die cut in the die and emboss it, I froze! All I could think was it would cut the folder. So you put my mind at rest, I was pretty sure you wouldn't do anything silly like me. :)

Hi Sue
ReplyDeleteThis is just beautiful, think I will have a go at this today. We've just been busy dealing with the start of a bees nest! Thankfully sorted. ReplyDeleteHi Lorraine Eastwood, I am waiting patiently to do exactly the same as you !! I desperately want/ need the Canadian Collection and I am waiting for Sue to bring this collection to Create and craft as I would like to buy them in bulk to and spread the cost with flexipay. I have no idea when that will be. I am not on face book so I have not seen the information you have. I do hope some one can help us soon. Lots of love from Tres x x x
