Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello crafters!  Today's giveaway card is fairly straightforward and simple, but pretty nonetheless.  At least I hope you will think so.  I started by covering a couple of strips of white card with self adhesive sticky sheets.  I cut the Lavish Swirls Diagonal dies out of another piece of coconut white card using the cutting edges.  I peeled back the backing paper on the strips of card and added them on top, lining up the edges.  Next I coated the remaining exposed adhesive with Diamond Sprinkles for a bit of bling.  I glued them diagonally on to another piece of white card while keeping them parallel to each other.  On a small piece of white card, I cut two of the Charming Hearts corners, using the same direction die (rather than one of each of the pair).  I sprayed them with Permanent spray adhesive then coated them with Diamond Sprinkles and glued them in to opposite corners.  For the focal element, I used the St. Lucias die and cut a red background using the largest die in the set.  Next I cut the decorative die in white.  I used the smaller die in the set to cut the next shape and I backed it with red card as well.  I stamped my sentiment, covered it with a sticky adhesive sheet and Diamond Sprinkles  and cut it out with the oval from the Caribbean background.  I cut two more charming hearts corners, nipped away the ends so they were both symmetrical and used them as holders on the ends of the sentiment.  Each piece was mounted up with foam backing for dimension.  The card was completed with my usual piercing and matting and layering, red and white this time to match.  The finished dimensions are 7 3/4"  x  8 3/4" in size.  Leave me a comment if you would like to be entered into the drawing to win this one.  The winner will be posted on Saturday's blog post as usual.  All for now, Sue x

    Morning Sue
Shh we have a little sunshine at the moment. Don't breathe too hard or it might just go away.

Sue I think today's gift is one of those lovely gifts of less is more.
I don't think I've ever seen one of your wonderful pieces of art with just a plain background. No efolder or pattern of any sort.
I must really look at your diagonal dies more closely with a view to purchase. I think this beautiful gift can go into my file to remind me of when I need a gift for one of those pesky males we have to cater for on occasions. Thank you for another addition to my files.

Where oh where have all those high numbers of visitors gone? Come on it's nearly Summer not a time to stay asleep. You've done it once so surely you can do it again and I don't mean when Sue has another launch.

To all in pain and suffering today I hope your day gets better.
To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

One thing I have found since my computer inherited a bug from a 'friend's' email is that someone has taken my name in another group which has left me unable to leave comments on some of the blogs I follow, so irksome and annoying. Bother these nasty people, I don't know what kind of perverse pleasure they get from doing things like that. They must be really friendless themselves if they have to hijack somebody else's name. And neither Google or Blogger seem to want to respond to put my groups right.

  67. Hi Sue,
Gorgeous card - elegantly simple and extremely stylish. Love the splash of red - the red and white combination is one of my favourites (& certainly Dave's being a Sunderland supporter!) I used my Happy Birthday die for the first time yesterday and was really impressed. I was surprised at how big it was and it finished off my card beautifully. I also had a play with the rolled flowed - so simple to do & gorgeous too.
Thank you for the heartfelt comments, it does mean a lot to me & my family. I'm not looking forward to tomorrow but at least she will at long last be at peace. Also yesterday I had been reading the poem that Cameeli posted I think last year sometime "Look for me in rainbows" and then suddenly there was a most vivid rainbow right outside the window following a torrential hailstorm - how poignant was that?!
Love and hugs to each and everyone of you, Alison xxx

Another beautiful card, the red sets it out, what other colour springs to my mind, I thought the centre piece would look nice as a bright yellow, as when I look at the centre piece it reminds me of a "sun burst effect" .I have those striplet dies, so I am going to give this card a try.

Happy crafting and have a nice day.

  133. Hi sue.
Oh I love plain and simple. It just sings to me. Very pretty indeed.
I had a run in with my lawnmower today. I somehow ran over its cable!!! And poof it went! Stared at it in disbelief that I'd actually done it after laughing at my husbands sister for doing a similar thing with a hedge trimmer. I hope u have a giggle as now I can't stop laughing at my stupidity lol xxx

  134. Good morning Sue. I just love today's card. So striking in the red and white. Love the way you used the corners as holders on the ends of the sentiment. You are always coming up with new ideas as to how to nip away at something and turn it into something else. Your dies are so versatile. Would love to win this beauty. Have a wonderful day.

  151. Lovely card, Sue; diagonals, a little bling and a flash of red - what more could anyone want?! So pretty.
Afraid the blog gremlin has again stolen my early morning comment, it's gone - snatched away! Now I do always check that it has posted but somehow it just disappears afterwards. In the ether somewhere. Mysterious.
Angela - congrats on the birth of your grandson Osian James - a new little Welsh boy!
Alison - thinking of you and your family tomorrow, hope you get another rainbow. Do miss Cameeli and her great quotes and poems and wish she would come back.

  163. Hi Sue

Wow, what a striking card. I need all the help I can get lol, one of my best friends birthday a week today & one of my brothers has his birthday 9 days after that. I love the tone on tone look with that pop of colour in the middle.

Another odd weather day. Hoping this year is not a wash out. About 4pm it was so dark out I needed the light on! Tomorrow should be better though.

Speaking of tomorrow, Alison I will thinking of you and your family saying goodbye to Auntie x

That's all from me today. My sleep patterns are haywire at the minute. I feel shattered now, just after 8pm but come 9:30 pm I'll be wide awake! Must now try to not have a kip or I won't sleep tonight!

Big hugs to every single one of you, have a peaceful evening and I'll see you all soon
