Thanks For Everything

Good Sunday morning all!  A clean and simple sort of card for today.  I used the new Linear Leaves embossing folder.  It is one of the newer smaller embossing folders so it will fit in any of the machines.  I cut the folder along the lines to make a triptych effect and mounted the strip with foam for dimension.  I cut the Mosaic leaves out of a piece of white card that I covered with a sticky adhesive sheet, then gilded with Persian Dawn gilding flakes.  I used a piece of it to cut the New York tag as well.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out again out of white card, but this time, I nipped away the decorative end pieces and glued it atop the gilded tag.  I mounted it in the upper corner of the card.  I tied a piece of silver cord around the card and tied a bow over my leaves.  I embellished it with a small clear Dazzler.  The card was then completed with a white pierced mat, a thin silver mat and a final white mat layer.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x  8" in size.
Don't forget to check back tomorrow for all the winners to be posted for the week.  All for now, Sue x

    Morning Sue
Hope you had a really good day yesterday and are ready for today. I know lots of your Wilsonettes were there hoping to have a word in between your demonstrations.

Totally different from yesterday is today's gift and this one I love. I haven't seen that particular Eboss folder but will be on the look out for it. It really matches so well with your leaves as though they were made for each other. I also will be giving gilding leaves a go. As yet I've not tried small things like leaves so there's another challenge for me!

June enjoy your day at AP.
Norah - I'm thinking of you.
Sheila & Nikki - hope you're both taking things slowly. I know you're seeing Nikki today Sheila so have aa good a day as you can.

We have sunshine this morning so fingers crossed by lunch it will be a nice warm day. Just right to do a little crafting me thinks.

To all in pain and suffering I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Such an elegant card this morning complete contrast from yesterday's card. Although I have used gilding flakes on flowers I haven't used them on leaves, that's something I'm going to try later. Why does your string on your card look gorgeous and mine looks a mess when I do it?
Hope your day went well yesterday, am I jealous of everyone that met you? ........ NO! ............... well maybe a little bit lol. Have a great day today Sue and all that are going.

A nice clean and simple card today, with a hint of opulence.

It was so lovely to chat with Sue yesterday. I saw first hand her passion and enthusiasm for crafting and how she loves to impart her knowledge to others.

I didn't get home until about 8.45 last night. It was a long day, but I'm really glad I went. Just so tired today so not 'played' with my new goodies yet but I will soon....

I hope today goes well for you Sue and everyone who attends.

    Love Helen xxx

  156. Hi Sue

A lovely card, those little flashes of gilding make a clean, simple and pretty card extraspecial and goes to show that small embossing folders can make bigger cards.

It seems you've met many of our Wilsonettes over the weekend. I hope the event was a success and any Wilsonettes had a lovely- and probably expensive, time! I'm hoping if I do manage it later in the year, that one day will be enough time to get around!

Sorry that it seems a lot of people have been poorly, get well hugs for you all. Planning to go back and catch up on everyones news.

I got the cards finished just 3 hours before we left for the family party yesterday. I did the fire and ice technique for my step mums 50th card and used my new noble dies ans quilled leaves plus a pierced mat. I was really pleased with what I did. The girls got cards that I made with other products as as much as I'd like to indulge myself I wanted to make them cards that are things they like. It was fun as it was 3 cards with 3 completely different sets of materials. The party was lovely as I saw people I hadn't seen in ages, and the 3 birthday girls all had a lovely time in their own ways. Craft room survived as I tidied as I went but still have boxes and machinery to put away. That can wait!

Mr W waiting for me so I shall go. Hugs to all of you with extra going to those in need, Billy sends wags and woofs to all the four legged little helpers out there. Happy hugs and inky fingers for you all in the week to come,

    T xxx

  166. Good evening Sue and the fabulous Wilsonettes ,
I love the simplicity of this card but how the leaves match the background to finish the stylistic effect that it creates. The white background with the gilded looking leaves is just so lovely Sue and a lovely card for the plainer ladies in our lives or those mysteries called men that are is contrary as Mary, Mary was although I think she would have to go something to make upto some of the male species at times. Thank you Sue for another piece of inspiring art for our delight. I hope that you have had a great time down at A.P. This weekend and that you met up with a number of your fans. Have a rest tomorrow as you are just recovering from that nasty illness from the other week there and your strength is not quite up to full level yet flower. Sending you some hugs just because.
Well been down at mums all day so legs, back and body feeling the effects off the non stop sorting, wrapping and packing but a dent in her ornaments, dishes and things in ready for the charity shop tomorrow, I have got maps, postcards, language books, history, in fact you name it put past for the school as I think these things are something that they could use along with various art brushes, paints, boards, etc. boy oh boy did my mum have some amount of stuff, but getting through it slowly but surely although I wish I didn't feel as if I was throwing away her life and all the things that made her so happy but I just can't keep it all.
Well I'm away to bed to give the bones a rest so I will see you all tomorrow hopefully. Sending hugs to all my angels both on blog and not at the moment,
    Love and crafty hugs

  173. Hi Sue,
hope you've had a good weekend at Ally Pally. Sorry I've not been leaving comments for a few days. I've managed a quick look at some of your cards over the last few days, in between family get togethers, trips to vets, packing, and travelling all day yesterday !!
I hope to catch up with the videos I've missed over the next couple of days.

Today's card is neat and simple, but very effective. Will have to give this style a go.

Hope June and all the other Wilsonettes that got to Ally Pally had a great time.

Hugs and Best Wishes to you all,

I've seen you use gilding flakes and burnish the extra off. How do you do that with such delicate pieces of die cut leaves? Wouldn't they tear?
