You're Wonderful

Hi bloggers!  A bit of a twist on a technique that I have done several times before.  I started with the New York Background cut out of black card. Next I cut the same background several more times, once out of blush card and once out of a pale mint green card.  However, I just used the fallaway pieces from those two cuts to reinsert them back into the original black die cut.  I placed a sticky adhesive sheet on the back of the black die cut so the exposed adhesive held the other colours in place nicely for me.  Since these are mostly rather large die cut areas, it was rather speedy to complete.  The twist on this one was that after all the pieces were back in place, I covered the entire front of it with another sticky adhesive sheet and burnished it down in to all the areas, peeled the backing paper off and coated it with Diamond Snow for a frosty look.  I absolutely loved the way it came out even though the soft subtle colours were very difficult to photograph cleanly.  I cut the Scandinavian tag in the pale mint green card (from my stash) and mounting over the centre of the background.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the smaller oval from the Scandinavian Background die set and drew around it and cut it by hand for a larger oval in black as a mat for it.  I mounted it in the centre with foam.  I also used the background as a template to draw around to create a frame for it.  I cut the inside of the frame with a craft knife by hand and used the paper cutter to cut the outside edge of the black frame.  I mounted foam on it to raise it for dimension.  I completed the card with pierced white mat, then a thin blush and thin black mat and a final white mat layer.  Flatback pearls were added as embellishments too.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x  9" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  43. Hi Sue, yet another fantastic card. Love the colours used. I have the background die so can't wait to have a go at this one. The bling is just the icing on the cake. Lol lynne m x x x

Poochies back to their scruffy selves. Hubby did some light gardening on Thursday afternoon and poochies were only too happy to help in their own way of course. He came into the lounge looking all over the floor, I asked him what was the matter and was told that he had put some bulbs out on the patio wall ready to plant and Tilly had knocked them off the wall into the dirt but one was missing. Said that she was only trying to help plant them!!! Its different when they play him up he then had the blasted cheek to say they were my dogs and can't I control them!!! Must admit though it was said tongue in cheek ( lucky for him) . Found the last bulb down the bottom of the garden. So the antics in the garden begins.

Oodles and oodles of hugs and love to all my craft buddies here on this blog. Unable to get a pic of poochies at the moment cuz the little b's are refusing to sit still long enough for me to take a pic.

Lol lynne m & we've got dad wrapped round our little finger devious divas x x x x

    Morning Sue
What a difference a day makes (I think I've heard that comment before! lol) From not liking your colours yesterday to just absolutely loving today's. Today's gift is an absolutely wonderful stained glass window. Your colour palette is just gorgeous and this gift has just gone into my 'must do' file and I have just the lady who will really appreciate it.
Hope you're really rested now and that you have made many happy memories on your holiday.

Steph - it was lovely to see you post yesterday. Hope you're not over doing things.
Norah - Am sending special hugs to you.

Now off to get ready for my grocery delivery and then perhaps a little crafting with an 'Izzy' type bag.

  113. Hi Sue - now this is more like it! I love this card, it is so much more me than yesterday's offering. The colour palette is beautiful. I have been thinking (and that is as far as I have got, thinking) about doing something similar with the Quilted Blocks die but as it has finer detail I think it will take me quite a while so it will have to wait until I have finished my Easter cards.

This morning I used your idea of colouring card with Distress Inks to get the right colour green and cut out the Blossoming Branches. I cut the separate flowers from yellow card and gave them Spiced Marmalade centres. I now have two beautiful swirls of primroses or more likely polyanthus. I like them so much I am going to have to make lots more so thank you very much for the tip and for designing such a lovely die.

Love this technique it makes a lovely card but I'm still weary about sticky sheets and gilding flakes and me have a love/hate relationship lol Love to make some but as I'm now crafting in the kitchen they do end up in the dinner. I know they are safe,Julia told me so, but it looks a bit funny so that have to wait until I can get my own proper crafting place. Hope you are having a lovely brake !

No news today, tired body so getting a few emails done that need sorting and getting myself prepared by copying letters etc ready to see the doctor first thing tomorrow. If I'm still awake come the evening it'll be sofa crafts for me!

Love this one and its soft colours. Have been using the adhesive sheets and think they are give a great effect. Teamed with the dies in this card creates a beautiful effect.

Lovely card with all those multi-layers. Sue you are a master of "layers". I see I have not been thinking enough in the layering technique. I think "more" is better!

  156. Hi Sue. A beautiful card !! I love doing your "inlaid technique". It is quite time consuming but so therapeutic and relaxing. This card looks great but I think personally the only thing I would do differently is miss out the second adhesive sheet and the Diamond glitter over the top as my preference would be to see the colours in their full beauty. I love the center dies and sentiment, really lovely to !! Thanks for sharing this wonderful card today. Lots of love and hugs to you Sue love from Tres x x x

Lots of love and hugs to Shelia and Nicki. Thinking of you both. Best Wishes love from Tres x x x
