Thanks

Good Sunday morning all!  It's a blingey one today!  I selected a piece of deep raspberry card (from my stash) and used the Lyra die on the diagonal to cut the edge.  I used only one of the cutting edges to do this.  Next I cut a piece of black card and covered a bit more than half of it with a sticky adhesive sheet.  I peeled back the backing paper and attached the raspberry card to it and everywhere else the exposed adhesive was, I coated with Ebony Ice.  I burnished it in well with my finger and poured the excess back into the container (note: it is very static so you may want to rub down a piece of copy paper with an anti static before using it to catch the excess bits).  For the focal element, I cut the Union square die out of black card.  I nipped it into half with my paper cutter, put the two sides together and took off a bit in the centre to create a smaller die.  I taped them back together from the back and added mounting foam to the back.  I adhered it in the upper corner.  I stamped my sentiment, then cut it out with the smaller die in the Dainty Oval Frame set.  I seated it in the centre then added small pearls in the corners as embellishments.  I finished the card with a white pierced mat, a thin raspberry and a thin black mat and a final wider white mat layer.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  8 3/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  6. Morning Sue. Happy Mother's Day everyone. Hoping you all have a lovely day. On to the card WOW this is a very different card not your usual colours but it is stunning. It's very striking and bold and i know a few people who would treasure this and frame it to put in there lounge or bedroom. My new e/folders came yesterday, the snakeskin and scored lines (not sure if it's the right name for that one) and they look beautiful when put through your machines.
Still very wet and cold today. Take care everyone.

  22. Hello Sue,

Lovely Lyra is an eye-catcher all by herself even without any bling but so dramatic when used with strong colours and a bit of sparkle...was intrigued by the pretty rectangle and then read your instructions and found it was Union Square...how different it looks cut down like that, must try it as soon as I get my hands on that set...

    Happy Mother's Day ladies...we deserve it!...lol

  134. My usual Sunday smiles to you Sue and all that visit this amazing blog. I hope all mum's have enjoyed their day so far and to those that cant be with their mum's on this day, my thoughts go out to you xx
Certainly an eye opener of a card today, vibrant and beautiful. To anyone that has not used EBONY ICE yet, cover your work area, your carpets or flooring of choice, cuz when Sue says its static boy oh boy is it lol... Dont be fooled by its beauty, its out to get you lol and get you it WILL lol it will stick to your fingers, your clothes and anything else it has contact with, and remind you you've used it for days lol, I was still finding it in the pile of my cream carpet in my 'den' for days and days after (worth it though) also looks fab on the dog stamp noses or on shoe stamps etc.
Not had chance to blink all weekend, and more of the same most of the following week !!! Oh well, that's life.
Sending love n hugs to you all.

No Sam? Hope you're ok xxx

Mr W had respite yesterday in the pub watching rugby with his friends and a night out. My PA came and cooked tea, left at 7pm. Billy hopped up on the sofa and we cuddled watching the end of the football and next thing I knew it was 3am! Today was an unwanted rush to the opticians as I had got my new dark glasses out about 1pm as I had a headache, put them on to discover a gap letting in the dreaded light! All sorted by a clever young man at the opticians and it was then home for me to be tech support and set up the new printer I picked up a few weeks ago- NOT Mr W's area at all. We have an arrangement here, if it's made of brick, wood, requires hanging or requires a tin of paint more than 1litre he does it. If it has wires or its own memory I do it. Success (of course) was mine, sitting next to electricals and making them sing is pretty satisfying after all. I swapped texts with my mum, we'll do mothers day with my nanna at a later date. Evening spent with a heat mat on my neck having more cuddles with my Billy, who was clearly saying "happy mothers day" to me in his own furry way! Very warm and snuggly evening, like last night except I was awake this time!!! An easy day tomorrow after a busy Sunday. Hoping to stay caught up with you all this week too.

Many hugs and happy hours of craft to you all, extra hugs if they are needed always.

    T x
