With Gratitude

Hello crafters!  I really did try to find a card that doesn't use the New York background to share today (thought you might need a break from it!) but it is everywhere I look!  I started this card by cutting the New York background in coconut white card, then cutting it in half and removing an inch from either side and reassembling it into a square.  I added a thin line of mounting foam to the edges and centre of the back.  I embossed a piece of white card with the Bed Of Roses folder and trimmed it to fit the area behind my background.  I added another set of mats in aqua and white card too.  I glued it to the centre of a larger piece of aqua card and added two offset New York borders to each side as accents.  Next I cut a Copenhagen die in white and added it in the centre of my New York background to hide the cut lines top and bottom.  I stamped the Floral Flourish stamp in back and added a sentiment.  I cut it out with the oval in the Scandinavian Background and inked it with Aqua Adirondack ink before removing it from the die.  I cut a Scandinavian tag in white to add some detail around it and glued bot to the centre of my card.  I adorned the cut outs with white flatback pearls.  I added my usual white pierced mat, followed by a thin aqua mat and a slightly larger white mat layer.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  9 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  4. Morning Sue, Pam and all Wilsonettes wow a beauty today although rather large, OK if you are going to give to someone but not for posting. Will still give it a go though.

Does anyone else have the same problem as I do, I add my comment and then when I want to go to another blog I get asked if I want to leave the page, it is so annoying, it doesn't happen to any other of the blogs I follow.

Have a great Monday everyone, stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Its a gorgeous card today, we NEVER complain about how many times you want to use a certain die or ef, we're just thankful and grateful to have you give us the inspiration and knowledge every day. I adore the Aqua card, such a beautiful shade of blue, it really enhances the dies.

  89. Good morning Sue and the fabulous Wilsonettes,
Oh Sue this reminds me so much of the era that was all frills and lace and feminine, it is so pretty that i might just have to make a hommage to it in my own wee way. Beautiful flower, truly beautiful with the white and pale aqua. The borders done this way makes it look as if it is all lacy and frilly down the sides of the card and some how doesn't have that card look but fabric look to me. Thank you Sue for a stunning wake up surprise for us all today. We don't care how many different times you use one die as it shows us endless amount of inspiration and when it is a really good die like this obviously is it makes it well worth the investment, so for me i thank you for that endless inspiration that you bring and the joy that your blog brings to me and all the other Wilsonettes.
Well the coal-man has just caught me in my Minnie Mouse onesie that i wear when i am having an off day so I'm glad i brought a smile to his and the young fella that was helping him faces.
From what looks like an icing sugar shaker has shook down on my lovely hills but it is raining down here at the bottom so a lovely day and i don't think at the Wee County. sending hugs to all my Wilsonette Angels both on blog and not at the moment, i hope that our dear friends that are going through a rough and hard time just now come back soon when they are feeling more up to the company but hugs and prayers sent your way,

Beautiful, I adore the teal/ aqua colours. They remind me of a sea in a hot, sunny beautiful day somewhere near the equator! I can confirm that the north sea does not look like that lol. Hope you're feeling better xxx

I love to see the same few dies again and again as it shows people that even if they juat have a few they can still do many different things. It's also darn good for the old crafters block... grab a couple of dies and do as many different things with them as possible (llittle hint for this, have a digital camera/ smartphone with you and just cut out a few of each die, have some flowers and other pretty bits ready. Layout without glue and photograph when you hit something nice. Saves plenty of cardstock this way AND you always have some diecuts ready for a last minute card).

Safe journey Janet Ecco & Mr E x Thinking of Sheila and Nikki x Hugs for those unable to visit us through illness or other reasons x

I really should try and do some more sewing today, sure if I can actually get up at the machine I'll make a little more progress. Cut some practice scraps as the fabric (polyester faux suede/ suedette) is an utter pig to sew, how glad was I that I didn't just plough on in! Have had to break out the walking foot after trying 3 others (don't have a teflon foot but it's now on the list). It'll all be worth it in the end as I'm sure Billy would love his very big bed back (he's settling for just a big bed at present). Gives him a change fron the sofa or 'his' chair! He deserves it, I asked him to pick up some junk mail today and put it in the recycling bin which he did, then when my neck went into spasm he unhooked the neck brace from the handle on the back of my wheelchair and gave it to me so a bit of grief for me with the sewing machine is nothing in return really.

Wishing every single one of you hugs and happiness, extra hugs if you are ill, injured, in treatment, in recovery or in any sort of pain. May your ink pads be inky and your die cutters cut first time ;-)

  155. Hi Sue. WOW !! Another beautiful card !! I love, love, love the colour combo you have used today !! Aqua is a real favourite of mine, as are most shades of blue and green including the beautiful Teal card to. Please don't ever apologise for using a die lots of times, I absolutely love virtually every card you make Sue, and at the moment the New York Collection is a definate favourite with me and I love seeing the gorgeous creations that you make with them !! You have used my favourite New York Border Dies, Yay !! They look fab offset like this. I can't wait until next pay day when I can get that little bit closer to collecting most of the New York Collection. However, this does depend on your C+C shows in April !! Well any way, I love everything about this wonderful card and I love how you have mixed together the Scandanavian Collection and the New York Collection. They all look fab !! A great little stamp to with the sentiment on. Thanks for sharing Sue. Sending you lots of love today from Tres x x x
