For You

Hello all!  Today's card was a bit of an experiment in Tea Bag Folding.  I had never done this before and came across a video on You tube about it and wanted to give it a try.  To start the card, I embossed a piece of milk card with the Braided Vines embossing folder.  I added some of our new pearl corner embellishments to add a bit of bling (I actually cut the design down a bit on these so it was smaller)  Next I cut four of the smaller die in the Times Square die in black card.  I glued all of these to a piece of milk card to form the backdrop for my focal element.  I cut out four of the smaller square in the Union square set out of milk card.  These are the ones that I used to fold for the "Tea bag folding technique".  Just to say, however, that this technique is usually done with paper not card so mine had a bit of a thickness to it, but I rather liked it.  I am not going to try to describe the folds but just say that if you are interested there are loads of videos showing how to do it.  Finally I stamped my sentiment then cut out the centre from the Union die set to create a black frame for it.  I mounted it with foam in the centre of the card.  I completed the card by piercing my milk mat, adding a thin black mat for balance and a final milk card mat.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  71/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

    Morning Sue
What a gorgeous way to finish the working week and to start the most horrible wet/windy/cold Friday. So today's gift is a joy. I love monochrome it shouts class from every angle. Tea Bag Folding is one technique I have never tried. I've looked at instructions time and time again but have always decided that it's not for me. I'm sure I can insert something in that space.

Norah - What an experience Rory is going to have and how proud you must be. I'd love to have seen all the excited and expectant faces and doesn't it give you hope that we do have a younger generation who want to do something worthwhile.
I would dearly love to see your shawls. I agree thick shawls are OK for pram/cot blankets but as you say fine soft wool is just the thing for the little ones. I have that Paton's pattern - inherited from Mum as she knitted it (one for each of my girls) and I still have them. I take them out each year to give them a shake and then wrap them up in tissue paper and back they go into the drawer until next year. The first one will be 50years old next February. Oh where does time go!
Steph - hope you're one step nearer to escaping.
Sheila - sending you and Nikki gentle hugs.

Off now to have a cup of coffee and then some housework. So to anyone in pain or suffering I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.
    Janet x

  139. Hi Sue, a lovely and elegant card. I hope you enjoyed your tea bag folding. I quite enjoy the process, there are so many variations but always hate the cutting out part, making sure each square is identical. What a good idea to get the die to do all the work and give a decorative edge too! Must try it with a die and I am sure it will work just as well with a patterned paper.
