Best Wishes

Hello bloggers!  Welcome to another crafty week!  I am hoping to have a nice surprise for you sometime this week. (tee hee, yes, that is me snickering with joy!)  Today's card is definitely one that fits into the clean and simple style.  I love designing striplets and I always just have to see them in their simplest style when I get the die prototypes so this is almost always the first card I make!  If you need a really quick card for a last minute thing, this is certainly the way to go too.  It works for any occasion by just changing the sentiment or the colour or both!  I stamped my sentiment (Bold Sentiment stamp set by Creative Expressions) using a Black Archival ink pad towards the lower right corner.  I always start with a piece of card that is slightly larger than the finished size .  This is because I can then straighten it if my stamping is a bit wonky (which it almost always is!) by just cutting the card a bit to make it look straight.  I used the Tethered Hearts striplet without the outer cutting edge to cut a decorative design into the card on the left of my stamped sentiment.   I placed mounting foam on the back of the card and mounted it to a piece of ruby red card, allowing a small edge to show all the way around.  I placed an 8mm white pearl in the centre of the striplet (yes it did slip a bit and I didn't notice when I took the pics!)   I paper pierced another piece of white card to frame it and added a final white mat to complete the card.  So simple! So quick too!  The finished dimensions are 7" x 8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

That's the thing about your striplet dies, you can either have a card like this - C&S or make it as fancy as you want, so versatile. I know Hazel does beautiful work with them on her blog.

    Morning Sue
What a wonderful way to start the working week a beautiful beautiful and very simple Striplet Gift. Your colour palette is just right not overshadowing the star of the show. Today's gift is one of those that fit the bill 'less is more' and looks a million dollars. This is one I do not have but it's certainly on my wish list which by the way is growing at a great rate of knots. Thank you for starting my week with a fantastic gift.eph

Steph - I hope Mr L had a good bday and loved his card.

I hope everyone had a good week-end and managed to get everything they wanted done done! The fall of snow we had on Saturday has now gone and I start my last week here. Time certain flies it really doesn't seem as though I've been here four weeks.
I received a little video yesterday showing me my 11month Great Granddaughter taking her first steps. What a treat and what memories it brings back. These are so precious occasions.

To all in pain or suffering I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Lol Steph, you can buy a little distressing tool, Tim Holtz does one I believe and that takes 'the stress' out of 'distressing', I think it's knowing when to stop. But I rather think that you are a very 'neat and tidy' crafter so therefore maybe distressing is not for you! I also think that when selling your cards as you do there is the worry they customers won't see the 'designer' side of it and just think you gave used a 'dog eared ' piece of card! Sending you huge hugs, Sandra xxxx
Cameeli, where are you my lovely? Hope you are well and enjoying being 'grandma Liz' sending hugs, Sandra xxx

  120. Hi Sue,
this is lovely! I did one very similar recently for Valentine's with the lattice heart cutting through one layer and using double sided adhesive on another, picking out one of the hearts with red polished silk glitter. I was really pleased with the outcome. I look forward to your reveal later this week!!! Hugs, Karen x

Can you tell me how you get your pricking so even and matched up at the corners......I use a Tim Holtz ruler but always seem to go a bit wonky at the corners..........!
