Just Because

Hello bloggers!  It's a clean and simple offering today.   I stamped my sentiment in the lower corner of a piece of white card using a Black Archival ink pad.   Using the white card as a base, I embossed the top portion with the Daisy Tiers embossing folder.  I cut a stripe of red card and put a thinner white strip in the centre and glued it between the embossed and non embossed section.  Using the Itty Bitty Dotty bow and the Classic Itty Bitty Bow, I made a red and white bow to accent the border strip.  The Camellia Complete petal die just happened to fit perfectly into the flowers from the Daisy Tier embossing folder.  I cut one small one for each of the flowers and finished them with a small white pearl.  I pierced a white mat to frame the card, then added a thin red mat and completed it with a final white mat.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 1/4" in size.

This week's winner of the Wednesday Card Giveaway is:

Maureen Killen!!!

Congratulations!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your card.

A quick mention that Julia Watt has shows today on C & C at 10am and 3pm.  Be sure to tune in to see her great demos and samples!  All for now, Sue x

It may be clean and simple to you but it's beautiful in its simplicity. I absolutely love it, the little flowers look so pretty (maybe the designer had this embossing folder in mind when she designed them lol). The itty bitty bows are so cute and I love the flash of red.

Congratulations Maureen, you will love your card.
Sorry I haven't posted all week, the early rise every morning and up to an hour of travelling to the hospital nd the journey back have taken their toll and with the fatigue setting in exactly as expected, I have been so wiped out, it's enough just to get lunch and tea made. On the bright side, 7 sessions of radiotherapy down with another 8 to go and then hopefully the all clear.
Christmas cards, apart from immediate family, now all posted or delivered by my super network of friends.Too tired to even think of decorations so off for another cuppa and a lie in.
basket of comfort blanket hugs is full to overflowing so please help yourselves.

  22. Clean, simple and crisp - a real classic. I love it. I love your more embellished cards but this is completely different and I love it too.

Been busy in the craft room have finished a Roald Dahl embellished shelving set for Tilly's teacher with box calendar to match. I love it hope she does too! 8 gingerbread mixture jars completed, 6 jewellery gift boxes just need to embellish and today my special cards which thankfully Steph has cut out sues angels for! She is an angel herself saved me so much time. Did have to stop midway and clean up craft room it was ridiculous so now some space to work! Have migrated to conservatory as well though!

Update from Norah she says she is just exhausted at the moment and seems to have lost her get up and go. Have passed on your concerns about her. At least no major disaster and am sure she will be back soon. This time of year always tiring and can be difficult emotionally.

Well ladies must be off craft to do, sky man visiting with new box, tree to buy and shopping yo do! Exhausting thinking of it.

    Love you all xxx

    morning Sue
I would love love to know where you get your inspiration from Sue. You never fail to amaze me. I just love the idea of putting the small flower into your eboss folder flowers. I think it changes the look completely and just finishes off the background.
Plain and Simple it may be but today's gift certainly makes a beautiful statement. This is one I shall be giving it a go and perhaps in different colours too.

Barbiepinkfairy - Thank you so so much for contacting Norah and letting us know all is well except exhaustion etc. That in itself is more than enough along with the time of year. Once again thank you.
Norah - if you call in I'm thinking of you and sending as many hugs as you need.

Off to do a little C.shopping this morning. I must be mad shopping in Meadowhall on a Sat.morning but it's what I used to do before retirement and just haven't got out of the habit. You'd think that after nine years it would have been left behind but no. The usual trail; arrive; coffee; shop; coffee; shop and home. And I have to prove that I'm not a robot lol. Ah well!

Congratulations to Maureen you are a very lucky lady. To all under the weather hope you feel better soon. To everyone if going out please wrap up warm; take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

I love the clean and simple design of today's card, I guess stamping the sentiment first is the vest idea, I sometimes struggle to get a perfect stamped image and I would be too afraid that I would mess the whole card by adding it at the end! Anyone would think you had planned the fact that your gorgeous Camelia flowers fit perfectly into the embossing folder design! Genius, that's what you are!
I have this die set and love It and I can't wait to see all the amazing things you do with it! Xxxxxx

Steph - you probably won't thank me for this but as I read your comment today it brought a lump to my throat. You are so upbeat and yet suffer so much! I'm always rushing about and being told off for not wearing a coat or scarf etc. You are unable to go out because of your pain and the cold. Sending you hugs and hope the winter will not be a bad one. Keep warm and toasty. X
Barbie - phew! Your crafty goodies sound beautiful. Thanks so much for the news about Norah x
Janet - hope you have a lovely day despite the crowds!
Norah - just in case you pop by - sending lots of love - we miss you so much. xx
Cheryl - lovely to have you back - half way there - just take it easy and rest. Sending love to you too. xx
    Just because it's Saturday,
Sending love to all the above as well as Alison, TOB Theresa, Julie, Anne, Tandy , Lynda, Lynne, Lindsay - miss you , Wheely Bad, Brenda, Sheila, Pam and Robbie, Rory, Sandra , Mrs B and Pat , Margaret, Tres and Tina.
Not forgetting Sue and everyone else.

  124. Well Sue, and all the ladies,
It's not often I'm so excited that I'm speechless, but you've managed it!!
Christmas has come early in the Killen household, thank you so much, and thank you to all the kind ladies who have congratulated me.
There I was, feeling sorry for myself as I'm not too grand today - then I saw my name as a winner. Had to get George to check because I couldn't believe it.
Then I read Cheryl's comments and thought to myself "what have I got to moan about". Cheryl, I hope you soon feel so much better.
Then I read Alimecca's comment about Barrie!!!! How funny was that - sex change indeed.
Isn't this blog wonderful in that it cheers you up, has people rooting for you and Sue's wonderful inspiration?
    xx

  138. Hi Sue. Well this is an unusual card for you today but I really love it !! The background EF looks great but adding a little Camelia flower to each embossed flower just brings this card to life !! I agree with one of the other crafters who said that making each Camelia flower in red to match the matting card and the bow would look beautiful !! I love the Classic and Dotty Itty Bitty Bow it is such a lovely embellishment to add to a card and it looks great on this card with the stripe you have made to. This is a really beautiful card Sue. Thank you for sharing it.
Sending you lots of love and hugs today Sue love from Tres x x x

Hi Cheryl. I'm not surprised you are worn out with all that traveling. My daughters maid of honor of this year has been going through chemo and radiotherapy for the past 6 weeks. It has wiped her out big time, She is doing fantastically well. she also has a long way to travel and it makes her very tired. She finishes her treatment on the 11th Dec and she has the same positive attitude as you. I might not have been on the blog everyday, but you have been in my thoughts. XX

    kind regards :-)
