Shadows & Frames

Hi bloggers!   Happy Thanksgiving to my American followers!  Your first look at the Scandinavian Collection in action, specifically the Stockhom die and the Border, Corner and Tag die sets.  The border is unique in that it is symmetrical from the middle outward so it can be cut down the centre to make a thinner border, which is really useful to have.  I hope you enjoy today's video.

Finished dimensions are 8" x  8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  8. Morning Sue, Pam and all Wilsonettes wow new video's I love them - such a beautiful card this is today, lots of layering but it gives the right effect with the one on black, I have the Scandinavian border dies and that little tip of how to cut straight is going to prove so useful, thanks Sue,. The beauty of layering is that you can cut out dies from the inside of the layers and use these at a later stage for another project then because of the layering you do not see these gaps in the card, yes I am one for not wasting cardstock.

    Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs June Smith xxx

Thank you for the video - elegant mono card with fab crafted layers (8! if I'm not mistaken). Love those dies and the teeny camellia flower is such a pretty finishing touch. Could perhaps replicate (or attempt to lol) with the California sets, some of which I have. Lovely design.

  27. Hi Sue Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, and to our American Wilsonettes. Have a wonderful day of celebrations, good food, and joyful happy memories to cherish.

I loved this card during launch week, never guessing it was stamped and embossed, the die is just beautiful. Ive been so lucky to have some of your new dies cut for me and I have to say that the launch photo's dont do them justice, Sue, they are the prettiest dies I think you've done, so much so, I got a call from the owner of my craft shop to say the rep was there, she obviously knows its too cold for me to leave the house now and knew I was longing to order, you couldnt see me for dust the way I scuttled to get my list lol. After being sent a few die cuts I just had to order both striplets, a background and swirl.... 4 !!!! I just heard myself rambling order after order and after the 4th and replaced the phone I wondered how Im going to pay for all 4 dies !! But these days doing time is more like a holiday so at least I can take my mangle and dies with me and I'll work in the kitchen to get my card allowance lol... So who do I blame - Sue, for making such stunning dies, or a friendly Wilsonette that shared the dies with me and sent me a cut of the meadow striplet, background and swirl ?
So that's my order - and roll on birthday and Christmas so I can adopt another : )

Thinking of our poorly friends today and those that are feeling down and low.
    Have a wonderful day Sue.
    Love n hugs to all.

Myra P. The dies I've ordered after so much deliberation are The Madison Square ( I love the little fancy edge ,and also it is a larger square) the Gemini Carina and the Ivy Leaf , have you ordered any yet , if so what have you chosen?
Maureen and Norah thanks for asking how Iain is , I will let you know in my next comment ( might be tomorrow ) as his appointment is at 10:45 this morning , then shopping and the journey home ( probably be shattered by then! )

I loved this card when you first showcased it and I love it still. The video is fantastic, full of very useful tips, especially how to cut a border using low tack tape. You mentioned when you cut out the sentiment using the Copenhagen die that you would "poke out the little bits later". I have the Union Square die and I find it easier to remove all thes tiny bits around the edge by using a synthetic pan scrub and gently scrubbing the back of the die cut before removing it from the die. The bits go everywhere but it is really effective.
Hope it's ok to share tips here, I am new to the blog and I am sure the Wilsonettes will let me know if it is not.
Thank you for all your inspiration Sue.

A very Happy Thanksgiving Sue. Hope you have a wonderful day.

A beautiful monochrome gift today and it's one of those times that I would never reject black on a gift.
I really do love your new Stockholm dies and of course as usual they are now on my 'need' list. Your dies are so so easy to work with and yes they all do the hard work for us.

It's foggy and damp here so today has been marked for creating my last three seasonal cards!!! I seem to be so behind this year as usually by now I have finished them all; written everyone and ready for posting. So I am determined today's the day. Slow cooker to put on and then head down and concentrate.

  96. Good morning Sue and my Wilsonette friends,
It's Mary, Mary again this morning Sue as i love this card in the black and white combination as it is quite beautiful. The border being able to be cut down the middle to make a narrow border is a great idea and the fact that the corners match exactly turns it into a beautiful square frame. Thank you Sue for another WOW card and i am so pleased to see that some of our new friends have stayed around to join us each day for your fantastic blog and beautiful creations.
Welcome to all our new Wilsonettes that have joined us since the giveaway as you have joined the best blog in the universe and you now have a whole family of new friends.
Oh Tandy my dear friend, i am so very sorry that yesterday was just such a nightmare for you that you feel that you have to quit. Your work is something that keeps your mind busy so that you can come away from all your heartache and battles that you are trying oh so hard to win. You need that distraction to help keep you sane and out of the deep depths of depression, believe me this one i know from personal experience when they took my last bit of self preservation away. It was my reason for going out the door each day and kept my brain from all the pain i was in and troubles that i had, battles that i had to fight for Rory. I am thinking of you dear friend and sending hugs your way as you are not alone here.
Meg, wee Leo might just be 9lbs at 4months but i bet he turns into a big strapping laddie when he is older. My friend had a 2lb baby as he was born 9 weeks early and he is now 6'2", slim but not skinny, so Leo is coming on a treat. I bet you will be happy when it comes time to go down to see him but remember to share.
Barbara, the thought has more that once crossed the mind i can a sure you.
Denise T, please can you share your hubby with me or at least get him to have a word in mines lug holes to the ways to keep a crafty wife happy. Wow, you really are so very lucky in getting dies at all, but to get so many is heaven on earth, definitely a very lucky lady this Christmas.
    Rosemarie, i think you are being really thoughtful as you are making it so that he doesn't even need to leave the house as he could order them all up at Icon or Joanna Sheen. See you are thinking of the poor soul getting tired trying to get to the shops, the parking, dealing with all the other manic shoppers who don't know what they want and the frustration that when he finally decides what he is going to get, it's not there as it is sold out. Yes i can definitely see how you are really only looking after his health and sanity like any caring dutiful wife does. (can you see the halo yet before it slips down to the floor in disbelief);}
Well since deramores is having a black friday sale i decided that i would get some wool(now don't laugh or faint please) to knit ME a cardigan. I got some of the Sublime books as well as they have quite a lot of lovely baby patterns that go up a few years some of them. I have always knitted for everyone else and have only ever knitted my goofy cardigan for myself, so hence getting the wool as i would like a new cardigan and one that cover my derriere as my days for the wee cropped cardigans are well and truly gone. Well ordered two days ago and it has just come in the now so i think i will be starting that later.
Well from a dull sort of misty grey Ochils i wish you all my Angels a good day sending you hugs and to my missing Angels i send a wee prayer that you will be stronger and getting back to yourself soon,
    Love and crafty hugs

  158. Hi Sue. Sorry about the deleted comment !! My iPad keeps going wrong at the moment. Sorry I have not commented for a couple of days but we have had a few problems !! My illness is bad again, hubby has been in hospital for knee surgery and I am meant to be looking after him. I can barely look after me !! and the cat had to go to the vets in an emergency !! What a difficult few days.
Anyway, I have to say that this card is absolutely gorgeous Sue !! I really love everything about it. The km,black and white monochrome looks great. Combined with lots of layering, the Fabulous Scandanavian dies and the cute little Geranium Flower it is just amazing !!
Also Tuesday's video and card was beautiful, and I am in love with the New York border corner and tag dies. I think some of the New York Collection dies must be first on my list , and I definately need the Eternal Rings Striplet and a Gemini border die to !! I love all of those so they will be difficult to choose from. I will just have to wait and see if Santa brings me anything !!
Your Wednesday giveaway card was Sooo beautiful Sue. Very pretty and girly. Lovely colour combo to. A definite must try card.
