Peek A Boo Technique

Hi bloggers!  This is definitely a good card to show in video form.  The peek a boo technique is really simple to understand once you can see it done in achievable steps I think,  It isn't too long, a mere ten minutes, but I think it will give you a great technique to add to your crafty arsenal!

    morning Sue
You have really given out a challenge with today's gift but one that when mastered produces the most gorgeous effect. As you say it needs to be looked at in steps and that's what I shall do when trying out this new technique. I love your colours for today so soft and gentle nothing to jarr and hit you in the face. My kind of colours.
This has definitely gone into my 'must do' file.

Mrs B. sorry to hear you couldn't visit with your two Wilsonette Sisters yesterday. Hope you feel better soon.
Sandra - hope you had a good day even though you were one short of the trio. I'm sure you will pass on all that you achieved when you see Mrs B next.
Steph - hope you're getting into your craft room today for one of your wonderful creations. I'm also hoping that your weather is a little better there than hear. Although the log burner is going full blast and all the doors are guarded with our doggy draft excluders (we are so daft that each one of them has a name - the one at the side of my now is Daisy Mae) it is still cold so it will be jumpers on until I get sorted out and then C.cards to make. We had some wonderful views yesterday of the Squirrels visiting. Mr E filled all the bird feeders around the garden and so Tufty and his friend were well pleased taking peanuts away and burying them in the garden. We bring bird seed; peanuts; fat balls etc with us as it is cheaper to do so.

Mr E has just returned from his usual jaunt of bread shop and paper and brought back the sad news that our bread shop is under new management. Our current baker makes the most fantastic bread and it never fails to bring a smile to our faces at breakfast. We are just hoping that the quality does not disappear.

To all under the weather I hope you feel better soon. To all take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

  56. Hi, Sue, really wet and windy here today. Love the card, as usual, but then I don't think you ever make a 'duff' one!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Hi Sue and all popping in today.
Along with blush, aqua is my most favourite of foundation card, and one I have most of as Im too mean to use it lol. Maybe I should teach Mr L to make cards then he can make mine from MY fav colour's, maybe not, not enough room in my den for 2 !!
What makes these idea's pop into your head to start with Sue ? I know you say you 'play' and its only card, but my card is valuable, my brain isn't as it could never think about trying something like this and come out so beautifully, your thought process amazes me.
I too will never ever catch up on your brand of dies and folders, Im still way down on your first launch let alone the last and festive dies ! John the CE rep that goes to mine and Barbies craft heaven always says that the new dies shouldn't be made available until they have been shown and delivered to the smaller craft shops first, so it seems a bit 'under-handed' that Sunrise are showing a peek of them, think I'll wait and let my excitement brew until launch day (something to look forward too or what) : )

How I loath this biting, cold crewl weather, especially when I have to go out in it ! Usual blood tests today, then a drive over the tops to Yorkshire to visit my beautiful daughter and grand-dog.
I hope your day Sue is a productive day with some R&R mixed in.
To our poorly friends, hoping that as the day goes on and with rest you feel slightly better.
    Keep warm and snuggly everyone.
    Love you.

For the first time ever I have watched the video first before blogging. This technique is simply stunning, and so easy to do. I sometimes think what a super brain you must have to think of all the different techniques that you show us. I luckily have this colour card but not the die. You could use any of CE stamps that are oval to do this .

  73. Good morning Sue,
a very very elegant card again... To be honest two weeks ago I killed my Grand Calibur. I worked five or six times with it. I wanted to start cutting out a frame. The plates and the frame die stuck and nothing else was moving forwards or backwards. I know it was my fault I had to stop earlier. At the end a neighbour helped me but we destroyed the machine. Thank god I have an old Joy Trouvaille which I can use. You see I´m a beginner in working with dies. So your video is a beautiful inspiration for me not to give up.

I also have been looking at your new die sets! They look great and I have succumbed and Pre-ordered two as I had some birthday money. Going to Scotland tomorrow and birthday on Saturday. I fell in love with the trailing ivy and also one of the New York Squares. Don't have a square die so that will be lovely. Congratulations on another beautiful set of dies. I do hope they are as well received as all the others have been. The Gemini ones look very interesting also.

  118. Great card and video Sue but I think I would need the video on to follow all your instructions properly. Maybe I could manage if I viewd it several times. I guess its the quick transitions from one set of dies to another which confused me first time of looking but it I will persist and who knows maybe I will manage a peek-a-boo card one day in 2015!!! Keep on stretching us Sue it's good for us! We all like our comfort zone too much eh? Take care and enjoy your sunshine ! Many crafty hugs Maureen
