Thank You For All You Do

Hello my crafty friends!  I really like this card as it showcases not only the pretty new embossing folder, but the other collections in the release as well as one of the matching stamps!  I think it really shows how well they all work together to give you lovely cards!  I started by using the cutting edge from the Auvergne die and cutting an aperture in the middle of a piece of coconut white card.  Next, I used the new Eternity embossing folder to give the background texture.  I added mounting foam to the back and set it aside so it was ready for assembly later.  Next I stamped the Arched Swirls stamp in black Archival ink on white card.  I covered it with a sticky adhesive sheet and peeled the backing paper off and coated it with Diamond Snow.  I used some cut 'n dry foam and added some Tattered Rose distress ink over the top to add some colour (this could have been done prior to the adding of the sticky sheet too, but you would have to dry it well before adding the adhesive sheet to make sure it would stick properly).  I centred the stamped image in my aperture and attached the background over the top.  I stamped my sentiment in black on white card and made a frame for it using the Salzburg die set.  I added some mounting foam to the back of the frame and attached it over my sentiment and cut away the excess card.  I mounted it in the centre of my stamped image with foam and added glue to it so it stuck nicely to the glitter.  Using the Delicate daisy Open petal die, I cut several sizes in peach card and layered them up to create three flowers for my card.  I added black flatback pearls to all the flower centres.  I mounted the largest in the lower corner with some white tulle and several pieces of Petite Vinery cut out of black card.  I mounted the other two flowers diagonally across the card and added a few small bits of the vinery there as well.  I completed the card with a white pierced mat layer, a thin black mat and a final white mat.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 8 " in size.  All for now, Sue x

    morning Sue
A beautiful gift this morning using some of my favourite 30s colour combinations. I think it also ouzes Art Deco from beginning to finishing. This is also one of my favourite eras. Today's gift has definitely gone into my 'must do' file and believe me it will be tried again and again.
I know want to turn today's sentiment back to you Sue THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO. I really do not know where all your inspiration and energies come from but I certainly know that they are very well received.THANK YOU cannot be said enough times.

Cameeli - Your words yesterday just touched my heart and they are so so true. Thank you.
Sandra - I used to sell cards when I was working but stopped when I retired. I also found it very difficult to price them as like you I wanted them to sell. Now I just make them for two charities I support and then family etc. As your sisters are saying STEPH is our expert in this department. But I would encourage you to try it out. You never know if you don't.
Steph - hope yesterday was a good day for you and you aren't suffering too much this morning.

The trip yesterday morning was very uplifting. It was a very cold and damp morning but when we parked just outside the village and started walking down the main street on both sides of the road there was a blaze of colour and you could not put a pin between the pots of flowers. It really did make you smile. We found a pot we liked and took it to the cemetery on our way back home for a well needed cup of coffee.

To all who are feeling down and not well I'm hoping you feel better as the day moves along. To all take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

  30. Morning Sue, and all. Another week begins. Another week of outstanding cards and video's to look forward to, and what a start. Although your new folder is in the background, it surrounds your main focal point beautifully. At first it looks serene and plain, but plain in a beautiful way (at least our big bow phobics can breath without the aid of a paper bag) ! Lol but the focal point reaches out and says look at me, the sentiment was made for YOU from ME.
It really is a beautiful card to start the week.
Unfortunatly, market was slow yesterday so my hopes for one of your new festive folders/dies will have to be put on hold and I shall have to make a start on my C. Cards without the help of your beautiful inspirational products Im afraid. (SANDRA - please read back at the reply I left you on your comment yesterday)

I know there are a couple of Wilsonettes that are popping in to look at these wonderful works of art, but leaving no comment, you have your reason, but please believe me, YOU are SO much part of this caring blog as everyone else, which Im certain will be obvious with the amount of Welcome Back messages you will receive (you know who you are) xxx
I know Pam would be overwhelmed by all your messages. Im giving her some space but she knows how much she is missed, and has my number if she needs a rant or needs to shed a tear, and Im sure she has other friends here she can contact if she feels the need.
I loved reading about the French way of remembering their 'angels' yesterday and pictured the most beautiful colour's all round the place of rest. I must admit I really look forward to entering your French world everyday and try to imagin your surroundings. Maybe I should google the area's you talk about to see if it opens my eyes more.
Im all set up to watch/record our Kim today, may class it as my post market rest day lol although I should be in my den with head down catching up on all the festive cards that have to be started.
So I will wish all our poorly Wilsonettes a better day, congratulate anyone celebrating, and send my love to you all this Monday.
    Love you.

  68. Good morning Sue and Wilsonette friends,
This is lovely Sue with just the touches of black(i know, my name should get changed to Mary for being contrary) interspersed with the lovely peach on to the white card. The new eternity folder i think is so beautiful and elegant. All in all a really beautiful card Sue, thank you for inspiring us like you do each and every day. I was and am so tired after the show yesterday and battered and bruised from people running into me or belting me with their bags. Not sure how people can miss something the size of a mini scooter with a 12 stone odd person in it, but they did. So today aching all over from trying to get out of peoples road, but it was a great show and got some lovely bits and pieces. Took my friend into the stampin up booth for another card making class which she thoroughly enjoyed. It was nice to see her so chuffed with her wee card that she made and no one to tell her she hasn't done it right. I think this for me was probably the best part of going up, seeing the pleasure on her face from something that she had made the way she wanted to make it and that is what crafting is all about, making something your own from the inspiration that you get.
Pam, a dear lady and friend, thinking of you and your beloved Tim. Sending you hugs for you to use when you want. I wish there was something i could do to take away your pain, but since i can't know that i am thinking of you dear friend.
Steph, sorry you didn't have such a good turnout yesterday as we would have liked and for you to get your new dies. It is a lot of work between making the cards, getting up at dark o'clock to go and set up your stand for a poor turnout and audience. Have a cuppa ready and curl up on the sofa with it to watch Kim today, flower.((Hugs))
I bought some flowers yesterday to take to see dad but it was so windy and wet down in the hollow below the cemetery i didn't take the chance so i will do that today when it is calmer as i would have got blown away yesterday never mind the flowers. I hate when the clocks go back and it is dark in the mornings and earlier afternoons. It just seems it takes so long for the days to stir its bones to wake up when it is time for it to go to sleep again. Thank goodness for the Christmas lights coming on in a few weeks time to brighten the days and nights up with colour.
Wishing every one a day of sunshine if not from outside, then i hope it shines from inside out. Sending hugs to all my angels on the blog today or not because of whatever reasons. Come home soon my Angels that can't at the moment,
    Love and crafty hugs
    Norah (Glenochil)

I always liked peach and that very dark brown we used to call something else (but it's not politically correct now.) but the black looks good too.

I am still on a high today after seeing Riverdance at Blackpool yesterday - I saw the original 20 years ago - where does time go.
Blackpool was as always bracing lots of seahorses if you know what I mean,, if not they are foam crested waves.

  129. Hi Sue
Such a pretty card! So nice to see the open petals on their own in profusion! I also liked to see the embossing feature more strongly. Black and white with an accent colour work so well together.
    Best wishes, Anne O

  134. Good evening Sue, and all the ladies.
This is beautiful, and I love the embossing folder.
Dog tired, been decorating and need to get it all done during the half term holiday whilst the girls are with their parents, and not likely to bump into wet paint, or knock paint tins over!!
I'm getting to old for this decorating lark, going up and down ladders in my 70's is too much!!!
Love and hugs to all, I hope you are all as well as you can be and special thoughts to Pam and Sandra. xxx

  135. Hi Sue

Stunning card. The EF is a need but it looks so popular it might be sold out!!! The round Austrian die is probably my favourite from that collection, I'd like to echo the sentiment, as others have done, back to you Sue. Also to Mr W and all the other care givers us Wilsonettes know in our lives. I do love the 'hint of black' and the daisies.

Pam, sending love and hugs, lots and lots of them.

Steph, I felt really sad that yesterday did not go the way you hoped but I'm sure it'll come good for you next time. You are a real inspiration to a lot of ladies who would like to sell their cards, your positivity despite the pain you're in and how much you care for others. I think today's sentiment is for you too.

Jackie Trinder, I laughed out loud at your stash comment. Are us crafters propping up the British economy?!

Things are slowly getting more active here, had a full day today as had a repair man and two builders visit this morning so had to get up early, had a little sleep this afternoon to compensate. Now going to deal with the spectre of energy tariffs, exciting- no, essential- yes! It's getting colder! Was sunny today but those north sea winds were biting so today was a jumper indoors day... reminded me to do that tariff change!

Really special hugs to our Sue, Pam, Sandra, Janet Ecco, Maureen, Ita, Lynda, Maria, Diane M, Steph, Tandy, Norah and Rory, Yorkielass June, Lynne M and fur babies, Brenda, Myra, Theresa and anyone I forgot, our absent Wilsonettes, international Wilsonettes and especially to those in pain, ill, in treatment or recovery. Hoping to be back tomorrow but in case I'm not hugs in advance. Sue, even if I don't comment I love getting the emails and seeing your cards.

    Happy crafting,

    T x
