Winter Wonderland

Hi there crafters!  I have a lovely card for you today showing off my new Christmas dies.  I was over the moon with how this one came out and I think you will like it as well.  The video shows you in easy steps how to make this beauty and it isn't too long either!  I have, however, missed extra taking photos of this card, so sorry!

  1. Hello Sue and everyone, another stunning card today, so frosty looking, lovely, your inspiration knows no bounds, wish mine was half way there.
Alison, I am so sorry the news was not good for your Aunt, big hugs for both of you lovely ladies.
Wheelybad, please take care, you will have a lovely time with Alex for his birthday, you don't want to miss that.
Dianeandchips, you must feel so much better with your new cast, did you have a backslab like me, so awful and uncomfortable. New physio yesterday not happy with swelling, said I must rest more, feel as if it is all going backwards, oh well, must get on with it.
Love and hugs to all the special people on the blog, including my three little men, Baby Leo, Sam and Rory xxx

Morning Sue, Pam and all Wilsonettes, well what can I say, I have just watched the video and it is scrumptious, there is so much detail when you make a video and share so much with us, I am definitely going to be making this one. I got my new eBosser yesterday (a birthday present to myself) so will be giving it a try today. White on white, wow........

Pam sorry to hear that the new Physio is not happy about the swelling, they know what they are talking about so if you must rest it then rest it you must. Ask Robbie he will tell you about how important physio is.

Also sorry to hear of the not so good news for you Aunt Alison.

    morning Sue
Today's gift is the most beautiful gift I have seen for a long long time!
Anyone who wouldn't love to receive this just does not have any sense of beauty at all.!
Traditional is my kind of C.Card and this is certainly it. Will definitely be trying this one for one or two of my very favourite family/friends.

Norah - I can only say that your inlaws have definitely missed out on the most fantastic time of their lives. G.children are one of the most precious gifts given to us. You did nothing wrong.

Sandra - hope you're OK. Missing you.

Pam - The consultant told my daughter to expect swelling anything up to 18months after her escapade of falling down the stairs and demolishing her ankle/foot. She has found that wearing soft ankle boots are helping her as she works. It was February when she did her high dive missing the last three steps.

Wheelybad - please take care and do not try to take things slowly.

Hope everyone is feeling a little better this morning. It's my last crafting day today before I have to definitely sort everything out and pack all that is returning with me or someone is not going to be too pleased.
    Take care and be safe.

  42. Hi Sue, morning all.
Pam - now its MY turn (Im sure Norah will also have something to say) so be prepared to do as you're told ! LOL ! How many times have you told ME to rest ? Exactly... Do as you say not what I DO lol, REST - FOOT UP - ask about using an ice pack and along with REST will it help with the swelling. Norah - over to you : ) >>>>>

Ooooo Sue, white on white, my all time favourite, I love it. I made something a little similar last year with the wintery setting but used a different main focal point, typed and printed out - for your winter wedding, and used your banner shape for the sentiment (the banner die in different sizes would be mega useful) : ) and with the winter, frosty sparkle I added, it looked like a winter wedding card, so it just shows that your dies are not just for C : )
The bauble is such a pretty die, and I imagin it would look spectacular with the stain glass effect behind it.
It really would put any other c card on display to shame.

Well, I dare say our daughter will be in the departure longe waiting to board her honeymoon flight to Kefalonia, after an upgraded stay at the airport hotel, well if you cant upgrade to celebrate such a wonderful time in your life, when can you ? * Mutters under breath * a few envious words lol
id SO love to be in Greece this year but NO chance since the Diva came to stay ! Hohum.

Its a lovely sunny morning here in Bolto, so to all my many special friends, Corgie Margaret, Tina, Pam and Cam, Eco and TOB to name but a few and you know who you caring lovely friends are, I hope you have a comfortable day, take time to REST, and love yourselves as I love you.

I love the white on white with a touch of sparkle and of course huge helping of Sue magic, we all enjoy trying to make cards like this, but it must be wonderful to receive such a creation!
Pam so sorry to hear about the swelling, you have had to go through so much, I hope it eases soon, great to hear the good news about Robbie.
Belinda, I hope you have a wonderful time in Denver ( it's quite a city) ! My sister lives in Centennial used to be Aurora, and when I visit her I can't get to the craft shops quick enough, but since the weight allowance changed , you have to be so careful.
Norah, I'm so behind in catching up, but I loved your stories of the hair styles, it brought back memories of my mum ( not in the least gentle ) tears tripping me as she pulled and tugged telling me she was making me look like Shirley Temple ( I didn't know who she was and couldn't have cared less anyway) or putting in those pieces of rags at night to make ringlets, I suppose she put a lot of effort in trying to make me look nice!

Pam please listen to the physio and don't try to rush I was told it would take 9/12 mths for my leg and ankle to get back to normal and true to his word the Consultant was right. Probably not what you want to hear but be patent and rest with your foot up it does help.
I can't go to the gym as I am not strong enough now (and respect to each of you who do go) but off to walk my dog and hopefully we will meet his friends and that will wear him out.
Hope everyone has a good day and hugs are sent to all who need them to those who are worried I am thinking of you and sending up a prayer hoping life gets better. Helen x

  91. Good morning Sue and Wilsonettes,
Oh Sue i this is my very favourite from all your cards that you have made so far, it is truly beautiful. The differing dimensions that you have going just take this card up numerous notches on the must try scale and really makes it the special card that you want to send to those special people.
Pam, please try and rest that foot as it will all have been in vain if you don't and we want you fighting fit again. Frozen peas work wonders along with elevating that foot of yours. I know you are dying to get back to normal but is it worth another operation and being longer in plaster? Ok lecture over take care flower, sending you a healing hug. If you want to play, sit at the table with your leg on a pillow on another chair with peas on top. Hugs to Robbie.
Happy Birthday Sandra, i wish you a fantastic day flower, enjoy it as your only that age once.
Janet, i didn't just miss the last 3 steps when i broke my back, i missed the whole flight near enough but i still think i came off better than your daughter. I bet she feels that ankle in the cold and wet in the years to come. Did she learn after the first time of falling down the stairs not to do it again? I obviously didn't when i had another 2 goes at it on various stairs, but hey i can still walk(most of the time even if it's on sticks).
Stephanie, as if i would do that? Oh you know me too well flower. When i read your starter i just had to laugh because i had done just what you said before even seeing yours. I think when our brains went awol earlier this year that they must have met up at some point to confer. I went to Kefalonia in 2001 when Rory was 2 just and Kirsten 9. The place where we were booked into was miles from anywhere and the roads(because the pavements were not to be found) was a disgrace. They had more craters and potholes than they had tar and the locals drove like loonies with a death wish. Mum and i paid the £100 pound to upgrade to a place in town but it was 2 rooms, so she had Kirsten and i had Rory. It was full of older people but it was the best holiday ever. There were a few but one couple in particular took an interest in Kirsten and taught her to swim. The man was there every day giving her his scuba mask to even now she can't swim if she doesn't have goggles on. The couple that owned Villa Elena was a young couple and they were so good, the place was absolutely spotless. If your daughter and sil have half as good a honeymoon as we did a holiday, then they will have wonderful memories. I hope the hotel upgraded them free of charge?
Belinda, i hope you have a wonderful holiday in Denver, but remember first stop is sussing out where the good craft shops are and failing good ones, any will do. Have a ball and remember to come back home and not stay.
Hey Diane, you have good taste in getting a red cast but they might have given you a matching one so that you can be coordinated, but it will go lovely with your red top that you have in your photo. That's you on the homeward stretch now so please be good(well as good as you can be)and you will be back to your therapy in no time, otherwise known as crafting the best therapy going.
Well i have finally started making my Christmas cards and got to the grand totally of 12 made, but 8 of them are just quickie ones for around the village, so will need to get more made for the around the doors so that i can start my fancy ones for my mum and friends so dear. I have to admit to buying cheap cards from the shop for my in law relatives as they don't appreciate time spent ones and they went in the bin the last time(might have waited until i wouldn't see the evidence).
Have a great day everyone sending gentle hugs to Baby Leo, Sam and our brave Robbie, and hugs to all the Wilsonettes,
    Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil) where i have a thick Starsky & Hutch cardi on

  105. Hi Sue,
I got so carried away by the video I almost forgot to write my comment! This is a stunning card. It has such beautiful elements. I really like all the elements but my favourite part is the ornament die. It's so ornate and gorgeous.

Your dies are all so fabulous that once I started using them it has made my other dies (and I have loads) obsolete cos I just don't use anything else.

This card is truly beautiful and I have to say it must be one of me favourite ever. I love the way you have used what I would call the " waste" - I really must remember to try this. I now think I must have this die set, it's gorgeous.
I want to say a big thank you to everyone who have sent messages to myself and my aunt, it means so much. This lady is very a very special person. She nursed my grandma for years until she died, then she gave up her house to go to look after her sister who by this time had Alzhemers. She looked after her 24/7 for 15 years. Then when my mam became infirm, she cared for her while my sister and I were at work. It just seems so unfair that this has happened to her. She is being incredibly stoic about it all bless her. It is a comfort to know that people really do care so again, thank you all. I hope everyone is ok and to those in need I send my love and very gentle hugs and to everyone else sending love. Bless yo u all, you are a terrific bunch. Love, Alison xxxx
