Dotted Daisy

Hi bloggers!  This one is not my usual type of card, but it is a great one if you need a quick card or want to use of any leftover scraps of card.  I also show you how to achieve still another look with your Delicate Daisies dies (more versatility!)  It isn't too long so I hope you can take a few minutes to enjoy it.

Buy from Joanna Sheen

The finished dimensions are 7" x 8" in size.  All for now,Sue x

  1. Hello Sue, stunning card, will watch video later.
To everyone that won the dies, big congrats. So many familiar names, just great.
Julie Laz, remember what I said, you will always be Lee's beautiful bride.
Steph, have you come back to earth yet, that die is one that I bought and it is fabulous, they all are but I love the poinsettias.
A story for Norah, as a child, growing up in a mining village, money was tight, I went for tea to a friends house. When I came home my mum asked what I had eaten and I said jam sandwiches. She said I wouldn't eat jam sandwiches but I said they were posh jam sandwiches as they had coconut on them. Still didn't eat jam sandwiches at home though .
Hugs to all, good luck to Mary Blight for today, Dianeandchips, behave yourself or you may not get out of "care" this week.

  11. Morning Sue, Pam and all Wilsonettes, oh what a lovely quick card to make today, I have not tried that form of distressing so will definitely have a go. Aqua is one of my favourite colours so this card is right up my street and the black twine really looks elegant on it, then when I saw what you were doing to those lovely petals I thought 'oh no' until I saw the outcome and what a relief it looked so good, another one of those must try examples. Congratulations again to all the winners of the Christmas dies, I know you will all enjoy them. Have a great day today, stay safe, healthy and happy. June Smith xxx

    morning Sue
Now you have definitely taken me out of my comfort zone!
Distressing/scrunching paper and cutting into flower dies really had me on the edge of my seat.
I do have to say though that the finished gift is beautiful and looks so simple and clean and would suit one of the 'modern day' girls.
I shall have to take a deep breathe before having a go at today's gift and then remember to breath while doing it.

We have another very dull and rainy morning here so today I'm going to play with my new Christmas dies which arrived yesterday from JS before I have to start sorting out my crafting boxes/cards which have to travel back with me on Sunday.

Once again congratulations to all the very lucky winners. The dies look gorgeous.

Hope everyone is feeling a little better today. Keep warm and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Will watch the video later but ax it's raining I might be able to catch up with these at last. Plenty if sorting to do before we go away. Making sure that the shorts etc still fit, as I seem to have spread a little bit this year. Good job most of my stuff has elastic acted waists.

  87. Good morning Sue and Wilsonettes,
Sorry Sue, this card is just not me today but i do like your daisy as it's pretty. I can't do distressed as it looks tatty and i just want to tidy and neaten it up and as for wonky, crikey i just have to get straight. It's taken me years to cope with things being off centre or not matching, i even have to measure out the distance between so that they are all central. I blame mum as she has a thing about straight and even and can tell at 100 paces if something is squint, so has to go and straighten it.
Wishing you well for today Mary, sending a wee hug to keep you going.
Diane(withchips)you're not supposed to do as much damage as you did to yourself, leave it to the young ones who bounce better. I hope you get home so very soon flower as it can be such a long day in these places. Sending you a healing hug.
Oh Pam, even the Ritz doesn't make expensive sandwiches as those. Just how posh was this friend? I have never heard of jam with coconut on the top sandwiches. I must admit to having a taste for jam pieces or butter ones even now. Rory regularly takes just a buttered piece to school as that is his favourite. Another goody is rice pudding with a dollop of jam, mmmhhh. I sometimes think that i still remain childlike all these years on or maybe it is just what you get used to as a child. Mum used to make bread and butter pudding with sultanas in it if she didn't have anything for our lunch and no i don't feel like i had a deprived childhood as i think we learned how to eek out what we had, the birds stood no chance with stale bread because of the pudding. I think it would do a lot of good if people nowadays had a taste of what making do and using up all the food that they have instead of it going in the bin.
Well girls, my boy had a great time at college yesterday. He is doing art and engineering as there wasn't any space left in the computer programming that he was supposed to be in. He came home bouncing yesterday which is the first time in i don't know how long that i have seen him so happy which cheered me up from my hair raising day. As i said i was going to meet my friend yesterday and we were at the furthest point in the Thistle centre we could get when all these alarms stated going off and doors closing, shutters coming down and everyone to leave the building. Well i thought i had left the panick stricken Norah behind somewhere years ago, but yesterday she found me again. I am not sure how much hair i left in my wake as i am trying to get out and these stupid people are sauntering in front trapping me. I couldn't breathe, had the pins and needles in my face, hands, legs and feet, i was absolutely terrified. When we got outside my friend is trying to calm me down but i was still in that far away place that i go to when like that and can hear no one. She took me to one of the outside cafes for coffee and brought me chocolate(which at any other time i would steer clear off). When the all clear came about 20-30 mins later trying to get myself back in was a trial i can tell you and it was even worse when my friend left me because her and daughter were parked in the other car park, trying to go through Debenhams to get to the lifts to take me and scooter back to Shop mobility. I think it will be a time before i venture back to Stirling, in fact i think it will be a while before i can go out the door again never mind everything else.
I shall go and leave you all now, sending gentle hugs to Robbie and baby Leo and hugs to my Wilsonette family of friends. Thank you everyone of you that wished Rory well because i showed him to which he couldn't understand how everyone knew about him.
    Love and crafty hugs
    Norah (a cold Glenochil)

  90. Hi Sue. Hello again Wilsonettes. May I thank all those lovely ladies that left such heart warming messages yesterday, im still 'floating' and thanking my lucky star's as its so unusual for my name to get picked randomly like that especially when there are another 300+ names that could have been chosen, so yes, lady luck was on my side this time !

As for today's card - such a different style we are use to seeing from you Sue, saying that, I adore the delicate aqua and have some on order via mine and Barbies little 'haven' I think I can count on one hand how many times Ive seen you distress card Sue ( I seem to continually STRESS my card out) !! I need the Sue touch and you are welcome to come anytime to distress my card lol - I make a mean latte : )
Maybe after the next market I can put this weeks 'takings' to any I make next time and buy one of the new daisy dies, now that's an insentive if you like.

Im certain Maggie without a bow will love this - for obvious reasons, but your pretty daisy sets the card off beautifully along with the subtle hint of black.
Hope you had a lovely day Julie and Lee, you both deserve the best.
To all my lovely friends I wish you strength today, tomorrow and always.
    Love you.

Such a different card from you today but I really like it! It is so good to have a quick and easy card and but not easy to find such a lovely one as this! I love what you did to the flower die too - I shall be trying that. Your dies are so versatile. I'm not usually someone who likes the distressed look but this is "controlled distress" . If you know what I mean. Love the colours too.
First of all - Mary Blight - hope things go well today - I'm just catching up. Thinking of you.
Norah - what a horrid experience yesterday for you! It brought a tear to my eye thinking of you being so upset. These large shopping centres are lovely until something like that happens. Hope you feel able to go out again soon. Really pleased for Robbie! Thrilled for you. Hope he continues to enjoy college. Sending you a comforting hug today.
Anne - lovely golfing weather here too - but we don't have your marvellous scenery! Enjoy your day.
DianeandChips - keep asking the questions! Hope you get home very soon.
TOB - Theresa - hope you a bit better today too.
Thanks everyone for your kind words - what a super blog! What a Super Sue!
Steph - been watching for you going by on cloud 9, do drop in - I know you drink coffee. Lol.
Sending love to Pam, Maria, Janet, Alson. Tres, Baby Leo , Robbie, Sheila, Brenda L, Lynne, Lindsay, Lynda, Margaret, Julie, Sandra, Heather T , and anyone I've forgotten
    Love Myra

  103. Good morning Sue, and all the ladies, from a bright but breezy Newcastle.
Sue, I love this card, and I agree with Heather T, great idea to clip the open flower to change it, who would have thought of that - well obviously Sue!!
I also agree with Norah, in that I find it extremely difficult to "do" wonky or distressed (It may have something to do with being a Virgo,) but this is so beautiful, I'm going to give it a go.
Hope everyone has as good a day as they can, and best wishes to all, and to Yorkielass June, Alimecca Alison, Lynda, Julie Laz & Lee and Norah and Rory AND of course you Sue xx. (I apologise for those I've missed)

    ReplyDelete
  104. P.s. Norah, hope you've managed to calm down and soon feel able to venture out again x.

  105. Norah, I am so sorry that your little trip ended up in disaster. Please don't let this trap you back in the house, you can get over this, maybe try somewhere smaller next time. These shopping centres can be so intimidating, we have Metro Centre at Gateshead, so happy that Rory had a good time at college, this may broaden his horizons.
Tina, hope hospital with Auntie gives you a positive result.
Ita, hope you are doing okay too.
Giant hugs for all who need them, I do.

Norah, Sending you a gentle hug. Please don't let yesterday's experience put you off going to the shopping centre, I really felt for you. So pleased Robbie enjoyed his day at college, what a big step for him. LOL

Hope all our winners are all enjoying their moment. When I won a die in the previous draw it took me days to come down from the clouds. My Dies arrived a couple of days later and I couldn't stop looking at them, they are so gorgeous and even now can't believe how lucky I was........I AM SO PLEASED FOR YOU ALL

  151. Hello Sue and everyone
I am still up in the air after seeing my name listed, we have no clouds today just bright sunshine and the corgis are with me wondering what is happening, just cannot believe how lucky I have been, delighted for all the other winners too.

Todays card is wonderfully refreshing and to those who don't like distressing, come girls it still looks good with clean cut edges I have tried it, so why not give it a go I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Oh Norah I have been to the Thistle Centre and although it is good, I always feel funny(but not in a fun way)in there and am always pleased to be out in the fresh air after a visit. Please don't let it get the better of you. So delighted that Rory had a brilliant day bless him.

Cameeli you are getting there, so pleased your allotment visit helped.

Julie I do hope you and Lee had a lovely day yesterday, it is the least you deserve. You are never sent a cross that you cannot bear although some are heavy.

Thank you everyone for all your very kind comments not just for me but everyone who were lucky in the draw yesterday.

Hugs to those who need one especially Norah, Pam, Cameeli, Yorkielass, Lindsay, Lynne, Steph, Sandra, Tina, Lynda and Sue

  174. Hi Sue. Today's video is, as always, just fab !! Today's card is beautiful !! It is not like any of your usual style of cards but I love it !! So clean and fresh looking and a bit shabby chic to !! I really love the coconut white and aqua colours you have used. I love the large polka dot mask and your new daisy dies look great. I love the way you have made the smaller outline daisy die by trimming it all the way around giving it a completely different look and then using for the centre of the large Daisy. Such a simple thing to do but I know I would never have thought of it myself !! A lovely quick, simple and elegant card. A great standby as an emergency card for any occasion. Just change the sentiment. Thank you Sue for another lovely video and card today. Wishing you and your family lots of love from Tres x

I hope all the wonderful Wilsonettes had a good day today. Wishing you all lots of love from Tres x x x
