Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello my crafty friends!  I really liked this new die called Divine Eloquence and decided to use it and do a little paper piecing with the Creative Expressions Flamenco stamp from the Singles range to create today's card.  First, I created a textured background by embossing a piece of coconut white card with the Celtic Flower embossing folder.  This one is very detailed so I recommend a light spritz of water before embossing, it helps to soften the paper's fibres so they don't crack.  I used my Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue around the edge and added some Iced Snow for a bit of bling.  I cut the Divine Eloquence out of white card and backed it with Lilac card cut just slightly larger.  I mounted it in the centre of my embossed background with mounting foam for dimension.  I cut the smaller die as a backdrop for my gown and mounted it with foam as well.  I stamped my ball gown image onto milk card and coloured just the shoulders and neck of the mannequin and cut out thee entire image (you only have to be precise around the top, the rest will be covered with the dress).  I stamped my image again on decorative paper.  I picked a small pattern for this and cut out just the dress.  I glued the dress to the cut out mannequin to complete my paper pieced stamped image.  I mounted the dress in the middle of my die cuts.  Using the same paper that I used for the dress, I die cut several flowers using my Classic Rose die and made three flowers and added them around the stamped dress.  I added some white tulle and a pearl spray with the largest flower and seated the smaller two on the opposite side.  I finished the card with a double white mat with a pierced inner layer and three flatback pearls in the upper corner.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 8 3/4" in size.  Please leave a comment on today's post if you would like to be entered in the drawing to win this card.  The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

I absolutely adore today's card it's beautiful. I love the idea of stamping onto patterned paper for the dress it's a great way to use up all your bits. I am lucky enough to have this embossing folder and stamp so I can try to emulate today's card using another die. The pearl spray finishes the card off beautifully.

  14. Hi Sue, wow what a sublime card. Love the colours used. The flowers are as usual gorgeous and the pearl sprays add a lovely hint of bling. Lol to you and mom lynne m x x

Early today with comments and its poochies fault, I must teach them to tell the time for getting up - they already know breakfast , lunch and tea not surprising when food is involved. It was a case of mum look we can get under the quilt and walk all over you. Hoping they will crash later and give me some peace but not holding my breath cuz I know with my two I could end up blue. Hubby was dancing around the lounge last night and poochies were joining in by hopping up and down on their back legs all I can say is some of the professional dance teams better watch out they might have competition NOT !!!!! hehe.

Lindsay- massive hugs and lol sending to you to give to your stallion with his poorly leg x x
Myra - dont apologise about commenting on your kitchen , I love hearing about your day x x x
Lynda , June, Alison, Norah, Tres, Angela - gentle hugs to you from fur babies x x x

Well its more than a tad damp here - is even past soggy I would say - we must have about 2" of rain lately with yet more to come today - and it's cold too! 16C today. Yday I wore a tee shirt and 2 jumpers and I was still cold. Hope it's better where you are - if so could you send some of it here please! Just wondering if you have been to any craft superstores yet? (or is that a silly question perhaps?!) and if so, did you find anything that took your fancy? I've never been to one but want to one day - think it would be heaven as long as they serve coffee! Lovely card, Sue. I really like the Celtic Flower folder and it makes a perfect background for the Divine Eloquence dies. It embosses so deeply that you really do need that light spritz of water on your card first. The patterned paper roses that match the dress are beautiful. I've been using these roses quite a bit. They are so versatile and have a good range of sizes in the set.

    morning Sue
Rain again this morning - when will it stop? The gardens are getting too wet now so enough is enough.
Today's gift is beautiful. Which lady of any age wouldn't be thrilled to bits to receive such a gift!!! So my spot is just ready to receive one just like this - fingers/toes and anything else I can cross are just so.lol. Thinking of my body that is exceptional to even cross those lol.
I love this die - I don't much go for dies like this but this one just hits the spot. I can imagine it on a gift for any age but especially for a coming of age or for a young lady going to her first prom. It could be matched with the colour she has chosen for he dress.
Sorting out this morning after yesterday's knit and natter as it was my turn to demo. I love doing it but hate the sorting and putting away afterwards.
Take care everyone. See you tomorrow.

  95. Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
Todays card reminds me off a Spanish dancer dress and off the one time that i became a beauty queen(the judges badly needed their eyes tested that night). I love the hint of lilac that you have put behind the white and the lovely patterned paper you have used to make the dress. The divine eloquence die is such a beautiful die, but i haven't got it. Another lot of extremely beautiful dies came out about the same time that we found we had to buy, I don't know if you know the designer Sue but she was called Sue Wilson. Hope you are having a lovely time with your mum and family across in Florida, flower.
Are they heck as like Mrs B, the clouds of rain are resting on them just before it decides to come down on us from a great height. And yesterday it came to be such a beautiful day, but that's because i thought i would get the washing out today, wasn't it? So it will just need to be a crafting day as there is nothing else for it because my table is just about back to empty. WHOOPPEEE.
WELL DONE Pam L and your fantastic team for getting silver at Chelsea. The hard work and dedication that you put in has shown and shone through to a win. Myra P, please flower don't every feel sorry for things like everything going wrong one after another in your kitchen. Yes some of us have a lot of pain things going on, but someone else's troubles takes our minds off our own if that makes any sense. I'm sorry that your kitchen appliances have decided to down power on mass at yours, threaten them with the recycling plant and see if they decide to behave again.
Sandra, how is wee Milo getting on since his visit to the vet? I hope that they have been able to do something for him to make him feel a bit better. The wee bisom Bella, tell her she has to play nicely with Milo or get a smacked doek.
Lindsay, how did the poor stallion get wire wrapped around his leg?You do realise he will be showing off his sore leg to every sympathizer he can find. I hope that it wasn't too deep into his leg. Got this image of a full grown horse with its head down looking at his sore foot as if to say "see mum, i got a sore foot". I hope he is better after the antibiotics kick in to rid the infection.
To Jess, TOB and Joanna who has gone rounds with Mike Tyson and i hope won i hope you are all on the road to health again soon. Its not funny being ill and with your energy having done a runner on you, so i hope that it returns again soon. Gail i send you a hug for your brother and for you. I hope that he is more comfortable now, with his medication sorted out. My thoughts and wee prayers are with you both.
Welcome Joleen to joining the Wilsonettes and Sue's fantastic blog.
Well my daughter went for an interview yesterday at the prison next door for a staff nurse post they were advertising, but after ignoring her fiance, dad and me she has thankfully seen that she doesn't have the steel backbone that you need to work in there with the prisoners. The minute any of them said boo to her, she would be in fits of tears. Oh the wonder of common sense has finally prevailed to the point she would rather just stay working on the bank, than work in next door. Oh boy, am i glad as Teeny can burst into tears at the wrong word said to her, never mind anything worse. She has just come off nightshift, so see another reason to craft,it's quiet, well that's my excuse and i am sticking to it.
I hope that you all have a lovely day and even if the sun isn't out where you are, i hope that it is in your heart. Special hugs to our more delicate and fragile friends at the moment that could be doing with a cuddle. Take care until tomorrow and hopefully i will see you then.
    Love and crafty hugs

Divine, indeed. A gorgeous, girlie stamp and the lilac and white colour combo is so feminine. Love the celtic flower embossing folder, because I have a thing for celtic designs and knotwork patterns. Spritzing the card for embossing is a handy tip.

  124. Lovely card sue sorry have been around for few days , my family has grown.we have feral cats here and I have been on at a certain shelter to collect them, and get them done.as there was 5, I really dont believe they should reproduce its not fair,so I thought I would do the sensible thing by ringing them after numerous calls still waiting for them to get bk in touch im ringing daily, well over time one of the cat with coaxing has become really friendly and another is getting there, my view was if they can trust me then I can take them to the vets to get them done, as no one else is interested, well while doing my garden,i heard a noise under some taulpaline low and behold the cat that has become very friendly had kittens three in fact. So I have brought them all in the house in a dog crate, mum is very happy and doing really really well with her kits,i have brought them in so I can tame the feral kits and get them rehomed.im disgusted that the charities I used to contribute to are not interested. I say used to as I would rather give my money else where now. Im ringing our vets today to see if they can lend me a humane catcher so I can get the rest of them done.before my family grows, I dont mind them here im happy to care for them but to get 8 done will be exspensive, I cant just ignore these poor things. Im hoping our vets will do me a payment plan so I can get them done Sorry for the rant but I had to air it somewhere lol will keep you all updated on the kits and mum who is adorable. So take care for now hugs to all

Wowzers, I love love love this. I'm really drawn to lilac at the moment and this has hit my button. It's totally gorgeous. I don't have that embossing folder at the moment but do have illusion which I think could work perfectly well. Lol. I Don't have the stamp either but have an older dress stamp. Actually think it was the first stamp I bought. I'm currently trying to up my collection of stamps as I don't own many. In fact most of my stamps are actually sentiments.
Can I please say a massive thank you to Norah for her kind wishes. Living with a life long illness can be a nightmare sometimes but I try to make the best of it and smile. But and there is a but when you get something on top of it it completely knocks you for six. I'm still very tired but don't want to complain. But thanks again it means a lot.
Well enough for today. Off to Docs in a min. Lots of crafty love, Jo xx

  154. Hi Sue. WOW !! Such a beautiful card today !! I really love it. I love everything, the background embossing folder, the divine eloquence dies, the dress stamp and of course your beautiful Roses dies. Great colour combo to. This card looks so classy and elegant, it really is a lovely card. I would love the chance to win this one. I am sorry Sue but was unable to comment yesterday. I saw your two cards though and managed to watch your fab video !! The cards were beautiful Sue !! My favourite card was the card you made in your video using the Umbria die. I think it is gorgeous !! Another die for my wish list !! I loved the coffee cup card to, another lovely card.
Thank you for sharing another great card today with us Sue. Sending you and your family lots of love and hugs, Tres x x x

Hubby decided to put up the new blind we had bought for our kitchen window on Monday, he drilled a hole in the wall and went straight through the mains water pipe !! The force of the water was so great that the entire kichen was flooded in about one minute flat !! I went into the kitchen when I heard him shout and he turned to face me and he was absolutely soaked through from head to toe !! Water was even dripping off his glasses !! He quickly turned off our water supply, got changed and had to go out to buy an emergency pipe fixing kit !! Every time he does a DIY job in our house it costs us twice as much money as it should !! I was going to tell him off but I couldn't because I was laughing at him so much !!

To all the Wilsonettes, I hope you have a great day everyone, love Tres x x x
