Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi bloggers!  I thought I would change it up again this week and put a clean and simple style up for the giveaway.  I love this card as it is really striking in person. There is just something about a card that is predominantly white but has a real pop of colour to it that always works for me.  I started by stamping the Stitched Flowers by Justrite stamps in black.  I stamped the bottom flower first, then cut a mask out of a post-it and covered it up.  I stamped the next flower slightly overlapping the first, then removed the mask and moved it to cover the second flower.  I continued this through all the flowers so they all look like part of the flower is covered up from the one next to it.  Next I used the round cutting edge from the Italian decorative frames and laid it in place where I wanted to cut the circle.  I used a pencil and traced the inside of the circle until it met the edge of the flowers.  I used the tip of my scissors to cut a whole inside the circle so that I was able to trim around the flowers.  This allowed me to slip the edge of the circle die under neath the flowers so it would not cut there and then I taped it into place where my pencil line was drawn.  This is called the "Into the box" technique.  I cut the remainder of the circle out without affecting the overhanging flowers.  I cut the next size in that set to get a pretty decorative circle that I recessed down (I used mounting foam to raise the top floral piece upwards.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the smaller circle die in the set.  I inked it with Spiced Marmalade before removing it from the die and mounted it up on foam for the centre of my focal element.  I coloured all the flowers with Distress markers(Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Barn Door) and added matching buttons from my stash to the centres of each of them.  I finished the card with a double white mat with a pierced upper layer and three flatback pearls to the upper corner.  Finished dimensions are 7" x 8 1/4" in size.  Leave a comment if you would like to be entered in the drawing to win this card.  I'll announce the winner on Saturday's post.  All for now, Sue x

This is a Beautiful Wednesday Gift Giveaway Card and I'm sure anyone would be thrilled to have this in there home. I just Love those Awseome Flowers Stamps from JustRite, I Love how you've masked your Flower to create a chain of Flowers, I would think this Flower is fairly easy to cut out on your post it, as it's not got any fiddly items.
I can remember when you first started using Dies and you showed us The Technique of In The Box and also Out of The Box, it's great to be reminded about this.
I really Love The Italian Die set you've used and the Inner Dies are so pretty and I've noticed they have pierced edges so they match your piercing around your Card. Awesome Flower Colours Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, and Barn Door from Sir Tim Lol! And the Beautiful Buttons just finish of the Flowers.

We have sunshine at the moment here in Sheffield so fingers crossed it may stay a while.
Today's gift is so simple, clean and is definitely a must for my 'quick and easy file'.
I can see how it can be used for many occasions; teenagers; just because; hello; and those pesky men.
I love the colour scheme you have used. It just shouts 'here I am'; beautiful.
Off now to do battle with a flower delivery shop where I ordered a flower basket to be delivered to my niece in Holland as a thank you; did they deliver what I ordered? Nothing like!!
    So wish me luck.
Take care and see you tomorrow.

Fur babies are definitely in my naughty book - couldn't find the fly they were chasing yesterday so sure one of them ate it YUCK. Did they stop there like heck they did, ever since they were little they would find stones in the garden, bring them into the lounge to have a good crunch on them. So after telling them off for the demise of the fly out they trotted to the garden , a short time later they both ran into the lounge and I could hear crunching noises, calling out for them to leave I came in from the kitchen to pick up the stones . What I found was 1 stone and 1 snail shell . Double YUCK. My brain processes scare me sometimes cuz as I was getting rid of their playthings!!! my thoughts ran as this - well they are half poodle- poodles originated from France didn't they- so perhaps eating snails is natural to them . What can I say, but if anyone on this blog spent time with my little b's then
you would think and act like me too!!!!.
I have just spoken to them to stress the importance of behaving like ladies , Tilly eyes have glazed over ( a frequent occurance) and Cully is looking out the window. So I guess they wont be taking any notice of me ( no change there then )

Lynda, Lindsay , June, Karen, Tres, Alison, Norah and Myra - lol and hugs from fur babies

  91. Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
I love the white cards as you know Sue and with the flowers giving it that pop of colour it is so bright and zingy. Its a lovely card Sue and maybe just what i need the now to lift my spirits.
Sorry folks and you're going to think that i'm being really stupid, but i got a wee bit down (well a big bit actually) on reading Gail's sad news on her brother. It took me back a lot of years and i couldn't stop thinking about her and her brother. The pain that the poor man must be in and the pain that Gail is going through, i can only imagine. And then there's my hubby who can take me from top to drop in just a few words and manages it every time, so just had a bad few days, sorry.
Welcome to our WOW blog to all our new friends on both 2 and 4 legs. I hope the 4 legged friends bring their respective parents a lot of joy. More bundles of mischief to grace our mornings with their antics as they grow and become their own little personalities. Tia (a chocolate lab, so i think that says everything), because i told her she wasn't getting up on the settee, decided to go in the huff with me and turned her back on me and watched the telly. Ignored all bribes of goodies and out the back until one of the others came home. Had the school yesterday for a maths event that the wee fella was taking part in. They are teaching the children maths through the computer and come August, everyone of the 35 Secondary and 10 Primary support children will have a 10" tablet as their school bag and all home work will be done on this. Just what i need, someone else's hi tec gadgets to get broken or damaged or even worse, lost. However they are working on a pilot scheme of new way of teaching maths through the computer and Rory is leaps and bounds a head on this new style. He has completed his SQA (i think)3 and is now on 4, but 3 can't go away until next year because he is too young to have completed it. The level 3 is seemingly in old money a Credit(for all the young 20 somethings) or an O Level/grade going back to my generation. The head is saying about how wonderful it is going into the 21st century with it's tools available and how pencil and paper are old fashioned. Well they might be old fashioned but you still have them when the computer system is down or it loses all it's work because of a crash/ meltdown.
Steph, how are you since your visit to the vampire giving you blood this time. They're no canny with the needle that comes with it, that i know from past experience and it takes long enough for your arm to feel part of your body again. Thinking of you flower.
You know what is lovely about days like today? i have the back door open and all i can hear at the moment is the birds singing and chirping away. You can smell the loveliness of the countryside and with the sun out and shining, the hills are quietly sitting there as if they are so content watching what must seem like dinky toys passing at their feet. They just look so calm and at ease as if they can't be bothered by anyone or anything. What a beautiful day and i hope that where ever you are my dear friends you are having a lovely day as well. If the sun isn't out side, i hope it is in your heart and you take care until tomorrow,
    Love and crafty hugs
    Norah (Glenochil)

  148. Hi Sue and all Wilsonettes.
WOW. Talk about beauty that just POP's straight out at you when the picture loads, its amazing Sue. Fresh and bright - just like the Lancashire weather today !
I remember you showing this into, out of the box technique with Debbie some months ago. I reackon my brain is still out of its box cuz I just dont think it could manage It ! I have that show recorded now the instructions, so will my brain get into its box and help me out a tad please !!
Lyn. That story about the stones and their eyes made me smile as did pups adventure with the frog, Cassie noticed her reflection in the oven door for the first time earlier - not keen on her looks and went crazy ! Maybe she thinks we're hiding another in there ! Talk about territorial ! Maybe her brain should get into its box too !
Anyway, id be a very lucky lady if I was chosen to receive this W.O.W but I send luck to each of you.

Have a wonderful day wherever in the world you are.

    Love you.
