On Your Special Day

Good morning all!  I have bunches of wedding samples from my shows a few weeks ago so I thought I should start feeding them in here and there.  I picked out a piece of gold decorative paper from my stash for this one and cut it on the diagonal.  I used the Fudge embossing folder to add texture to a piece of coconut white card, then glued my decorative paper to the bottom of it.  I used six gold satin roses as a diagonal border between the two pieces. I tucked some Faux Quilled Leaves in and around along with some white pearl string pieces to give the border a more romantic feel to it.  For the top focal element, I cut several ovals, one white, one gold to mat as the background pieces.  On white card, I stamped the wrought iron corner  (part of the singles range from Creative Expressions) and heat embossed it in white for a tone on tone look.  I cut this out with a slightly smaller oval and layered it up.  I stamped my sentiment and heat embossed it with gold detail powder.  I cut this out with the Splendid Circle die.  I did one more of these dies in gold and then offset it slightly behind my sentiment to complete the focal element.  I finished the card with a white paper pierced layer and a soft gold mat sandwiched between my final white mat.  Finished dimensions are 7" x 8 3/4" in size.  Got a wedding to go to soon? You might like to make this one.  All for now, Sue x

  8. GM Sue - lovely card - that fudge EF is very Rennie Mackintosh me thinks. Forgot to mention, I bought a stamping mat the other day and it makes acrylic stamping easy peasy - I was using all sorts until I saw your stamp mat you were using on a show - I didn't even now such things existed till then - so many thanks - wouldn't be without it now. Dull and wet for the next few days so perfect crafting weather once the ironing is done! Love those leaves!!

morning Sue from a very dull and rainy Burgundy here in France.
Today's gift is so so elegant and very simple so much so that it makes a huge statement 'here I am'. Who could fail to fall in love with it.
I can see it also being used for many occasions, golden wed anniv/change the colour of the roses and you have silver wed ann and change them again and you have a beautiful valentine gift and even a beautiful beautiful bday gift.
Take care everyone and to all who have special events this week-end hope the weather behaves and everything just falls into place.
    See you tomorrow.

I have a musical day today - just off to choir rehearsal (sweet community choir - to sing some Abba and Les Mis) and this evening I am singing and playing my ukulele at a charity concert with the wonderful Sam Brown's band. I'm singin a new solo tonight - "Your Cheating Heart". Went to some yodelling workshops last year so am going to be brave and do a bit of Hank Williams - hopefully will not come out like Lady Bracknell - a HANDBAG????? And yes - do all my practising on the allotment (only if I'm on my own of course - would HATE get a reputation of being a bit batty). 135. Hi Sue and all Wilsonettes. Awful start to a dull cold grey day here in Lancashire. Forgot to take my meds last night so Im having an awful time. These nasty morphine tablets have got me withdrawing and SO upset they have got me into this state. Dam body, dam meds !
I thought yesterday I had my daughters wedding card all sorted along with the list of needs required to make it, then you offer us this astounding, beautiful card and more to come by the sounds of it. So now I'll wait and watch until the glorious selection of wedding cards have passed, then make up my mind and make my list of needs (although I want the fudge EF) what a shame they named your new brand without consulting you as I think Swirled Rose sounds nice, but thats just my opinion (which may get me in to bother) !
Hoping you are having a lovely time spending precious moments with your mom whilst working.
Thinking of you Janet K on this sad day.
Tina, Im here if you need me love.
To our ever expanding family of Wilsonettes I extend open arms for you to cuddle into if you are sad, unwell and a tad fed up today.
    Love to all.

  154. Hi Sue

I wonder if you can help. I have been trying to cut out leaves. I have used your latest die and what a nightmare. I have used canvas that I have painted because it gives a great texture and dimension to the leaves. I use this technique with other dies and dont have a problem I have tried wax paper but they still tear when they come out. Any tips?

  156. Good afternoon Sue. I love this embossing definite investment me thinks lol. I desperately need to win the lottery. I would have a proper little studio, with ample storage and fill it with all the products you use. I'd be in crafty heaven. But until that happens which I've more chance of landing on the moon, I will plod along in Jo's space and do the best I can with what I have. (Which really is so much of everything else lol). I think I've finally come to the place I want to be and want to focus on. It gets my juices flowing being able to create something from scratch from dies and folders and of course embellishments. I believe the embellishments give a complete finish to card whatever the design. Oh dear I'm babbling. Getting back to the card. Straight away I thought of 50. Either anniversary or birthday. I think it could fit both occasions.
Wish you all a fab weekend, lots of love, Jo xx

Just perfect for a Wedding or Anniversary.

  163. Hi Sue, hope you are enjoying Florida this week with your family. I was born and raised in West Palm Beach and miss it so much. I have lived in Charlotte, NC for the past 8 years to be near my grand babies and love it.

I was able to catch you on CreateandCraft TV on Sunday morning with the time difference. I am so happy your dies sold out, that is an awesome blessing. I am saving my pennies to get the California Collection, it is so beautiful and I'm sure they will be an excellent addition to my cards.

Fortunately it was a small one & after 24 hrs everything had returned to normal but I wasn't discharged from hospital until 23rd. My husband recorded your shows for me so I have been catching up with them & thoroughly enjoying them, thank you. Ann (France)
