Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello all!  It's time to give another card away!  I love Wednesdays!  Today's card is a kraft card creation and I was really pleased with how this one turned out!  I started with the large Polka Dot mask and placed it over a 6 inch square piece of kraft card and embossed the pattern in it.  Then,  I taped it down well and sponged through the mask with Adirondack pigment ink in Snow Cap to add colour to the embossed areas.  I matted it on white card, then went to work on my focal element.  I stamped the coffee cup on to milk card.  I coloured the image with Distress markers and cut it out by hand.  I stamped the image again, but this time only coloured the rose and cut it out.  I mounted the rose on foam over the image on the cup for dimension.    I stamped the image a third time onto kraft card and cut it out with the Marvellous Squares.  I inked through the die with Snow cap to soften the edges then cut another matching piece to back it with out of white card.  I stamped three swirls with the snow cap ink pad above the cup to look like steam rising from the cup.  I tied some Heather coloured seam binding around the card then added my focal element in the centre.  I tied a messy bow and added it to the left with a bit of natural jute twine and a burlap rose from my stash.  I added two matching stick pins that I made from beads in my stash and stamped a tag with a friendly message and added it to my bow.  I finished the card with mixed colour mats and an inner pierced layer.  If you would like a chance to win this card, just leave a comment on the post today. The winner will be announced on Saturday's post.  Finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 7 3/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  65. Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
Bought craft card because of the last card you did Sue as you are slowly bringing me around to the card card concept. I really like the coffee cup stamp but after the blowout that i had up in Glasgow on a certain parties dies the stamp will need to wait a few months. I like the varying textures that you have going on in your card this morning and thinking that i could make a different version up for my mum's blind friend as perfect for her to "see".
I have wedding invites to do samples of today as my old friends' daughter is getting married again and she is coming tomorrow to see what see likes and tell me how many see will be needing. She loves her cornet and her hubby to be is a horse freak so we will see how she wants this interpreted into an invitation. Thinking music note and horse shoe linking to shut the invite, but we will see. From the frozen north face of the arctic again today that is slowly warming i wish you all a great day if possible and love and hugs to our friends having such a hard time the now.
    Love and crafty hugs

  113. Good morning Sue,
Well today's card almost had my mouth watering with all it's 'caramely' goodness, perfect choice of card and ink colours!
Perfect for the 'just because' card, that kind of card has more of an impact than a 'birthday' card as you have made and sent it purely because you were thinking about somebody rather than 'having' you make & send for a birthday!
I love your own handmade stick pins Sue, where do you get your beads from to add to your stick pins?
Anyway I must go and finish putting things away in my newly rearranged craft room.
    Crafty hugs as always,
    Sandra xxxx

  154. Just having a sit down and cuppa and this is the perfect card to compliment them! Really like the effect where you have used the white ink to highlight areas, and the turquoise splashes of colour are perfect with the Kraft card. Might try this technique with the stamp set you sent me last week. Thank you, Love Susan x
