Happy Birthday

Hello bloggers and Happy St. Patrick's Day!  I do hope everyone had a nice relaxing (even lazy) weekend!  More flowers today, but how about some pretty daisies this time.  I reached for my new A4 Art Deco Fanfare embossing folder (these will be on my show on the 30th, but are available at retailers now).  I embossed the entire coconut white card background with it.  I decided to add a more decorative touch by adding my Italian border on the side but doing a white on white with it.  I cut out the Heart circle using the Decorative frames from the Italian Collection as well.  Using some blush card, I added a circular frame to go behind it, just peeking out through the hearts so it was very subtle.  I added foam mounting tape to the back of the circle frame to raise it for dimension.  Next I stamped the Justrite daisies from their Hello Daisy stamp set in black Archival ink.  I coloured just the flowers and cut them both out by hand, nipping away the leaves from the stamped image.  I used a Milled Lavender distress marker to colour them with a Scattered Straw marker for the centres.  I mounted them on foam and added them to the middle of my circular frame, but made them overlap the edges. I cut a few leaves from the Delicate Aster die, inked through them with Shabby Shutters and added them around the flowers.  Next I stamped the sentiment which was actually part of another Justrite stamp set called Vintage Rose Labels Seven, cut it into a banner and inked the edges with Milled Lavender.  I added it below my flowers with mounting foam.  I used some matching Vintage Ribbon to tie a messy bow and added a white crystal sparkler to the centre.  As per my recent obsession, I made some matching stick pins with some beads from my stash to add to my bow.  I finished with a double white pierced mat for a simple and easy to make card. The finished dimensions are 7" x 8 1/4" in size.  Hope you like it!
Remember, even though it is Tuesday, there is no video for tomorrow.  So you won't be too disappointed, I will post another card using some of my new die line since I have had so many requests lately!  The videos will begin again on March 27th!  All for now, Sue x

  35. Hi Sue
I'm not usually the biggest Art Deco fan(I tend to avoid that theme and Oriental in craft for some reason?)
but when I saw this folder a bit ago it was my favourite of your designs and after seeing this card that thought still remains. It's gorgeous, I keep thinking of it as shell or fan like too as opposed to just Art Deco, so I'm wondering if it will go with your stamp Seashell Roses ?
    What a lovely flower too.
Looking forward to seeing the folders in action. x

Oh Sue, what a fresh pretty card you have delighted us with today, its absolutly beautiful. I adore your new folder (will have to wait until I have an A4 machine before I start investing) I was once told to "just buy them and cut it down to fit your BS" ! Errr I dont think so ! Yes it would be so lovely to be able to 'keep up' with A4 folders but id have to buy another when I eventually save enough for my machine, besides, if Im made to wait, I may be behind the times but I will be even more chuffed when I know Ive saved hard, gone to market when not really up to going, made loads of cards to hopefully help make people smile, it will be a good day when I buy my first A4 Sue Wilson embossing folder : )

Ooh I really like today's card! I love the subtle pretty shades and the flowers are so delicate looking. Love the bow and dazzler! Embossing folder is beautiful too.

Got myself in a right pickle yesterday and asked Norah about her MOTB outfit - did know it was Tina! Sorry - a senior moment !

    Tina glad shopping went well!

Steph thanks for name of shop - I may bump into you sometime! Not literally! If I do go I will let you know.

Tres sorry about Fudge! What a cute name - hope all goes well.

    Cameeli - take care !
Pam, great to see you back regularly - lots of love!
    Love to all,

  165. Hi Sue

So So pretty, I love it. The stick pins and bow are just the prettiest finishing touch. I have just got back from the wholesalers, and low and behold the art deco folder was in my post box, it's stunning. I ordered it to make my daughter a wedding card, and looking at today's background I'm glad I did.

Steph, I went on line today on the Debenhams site, and purchased my wedding shoes. Thank you. Although I looked in Debenhams on Saturday they can't show their whole range. So thank you again. X

Tres, So sorry to hear the sad news about Fudge. I know it will cost a fortune, but you can't put a price on that special friendship.I had a cat e 3days after we got married. I asked if I could have our own very 1st pet,he said when you are bored with me you can have a cat. We married on the Saturday, had a cat on Monday. Anyway sorry, when she was 16 she went blind suddenly due to old age, but she learned to maneuver her way around the house and garden. For a while she was like a pin ball machine, but as long as we did'nt move any furniture inside and in the garden she always found her sunniest spot. I did ask the vet if I was being cruel, and he said NO, she has seen all she wants to see now, just make sure she finds her sunniest spot in the garden and has your lap to cuddle up on in the evenings she will be happy. She coped very well and lived for another 2 1/2yrs. I'm sure Fudge will cope also. Lots of love to you both.

    Kind regards :-)
