Hello crafters! Here is the card for today's Wednesday weekly card giveaway. In case your monitor shows otherwise, it is milk coloured with gold accents. If you want to be included in the drawing to win it, just leave me a comment today. The winner will be announced on Saturday's post. I started by stamping the Vintage Alphabet Soup background stamp using a clear Perfect Medium pad on milk card. I had to do two stampings of it to cover the background size I wanted, but then just dusted it with gold mica powder for a soft shimmery look. I used the Vintage Bracket and Label die to cut an aperture out of the centre of it. On the lower portion of the background, I added a strip of milk card that I scored lines into. Using one of the edgeability inserts, I cut a thin border out of milk card. I used a piece of soft gold card behind it and embossed it together. On a separate piece of milk card, I used the Wild Holly embossing folder to give texture to it. I mounted this piece behind the aperture opening in my background. I went back to the original piece of the background that I removed from the aperture and cut one of the tags from it so the pattern carried over. I mounted it in the opening as a backdrop to my sentiment. I stamped and embossed the sentiment in gold and cut it out with a simple oval die shape. I used some Antique Linen ink on it while it was still in the die to highlight it. I mounted it in the centre of the tag to complete my focal element. I tied a double bow out of silky crush ribbon and added a flower made from the Spiral Blossom four and cream felt. Two cream stick pins were added as accents. The entire piece was matted with soft gold card before adding my final double milk mats with pierced inner layer and completing my card. The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 8 1/4" in size. I hope you like it, let me know.
Yes there are still a few more cards that have been shown and not given away. That is, I left them with a coworker to post out, then forgot which ones and accidentally posted them already (yes the memory is going fast these days! LOL) If you want to see the second card that will be in this week's drawing, just scroll to the bottom of this post! All for now, Sue x

ReplyDeleteEnjoyed Julias two shows yesterday and your new perfume bottles are gorgeous!!!
Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
ReplyDeleteWell from a teaming down cats and dogs Glenochil its so nice to come in to a lovely sunny place, like our happy blog. Another 2 winners Sue and yes it is a funny yellow for the first couple of pictures, but the small close ups show off the lovely milk colour.I am really enjoying the felt flowers that you are making, there again it is probably my obsession for textures and fabrics. The black one reminds me of a pair of trousers that i have as they are a jacard material and i love them. Both cards are beautiful so it would be a hard choice, but some lucky person is going to be able to enjoy each card.
Cameeli flower it was not meant to be, so he up there has a bigger plan for you. There is something better coming for you flower, something that needs your talent more. And just remember they are the losers of an incredible person, so chin in the up position and do what you do best and smile a great big cheesy one that can light up the town.
Everything is in slow motion these days the now. Thank the lord i got heaved out of my work, otherwise i might be all day just trying to get the smallest of tasks done. You know how the clever people can film you and slow you down , well i wonder if they could speed me up, mmhh. So to my comrades in craft here that are in faster mode please can you pass on a little of your energy each so that i can be up at full speed again. Decided that i wouldn't enter the marathon this year, they might still be waiting 3 months down the road for me to finish.hee hee hee.
Right the eyes are going back to sleep along with the rest of me, so i will hopefully see you all tomorrow with any luck,
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)

ReplyDeleteHi Sue
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful cards today, but I think the 1st card stands out more for me, not only because it shows as yellow but it has the flower bow and beads. No:- 2 card is also gorgeous, and I would certainly be really happy if either one turned up in my postbox.
Kind regards :-)

Good evening Sue
ReplyDeleteTodays cards are both gorgeous. The first especially, I think because of the colour palette is so rich. I love the little horizontal border, it's so pretty. Both sentiment tags are lovely and I've put the alphabet soup stamp on my list of (many) crafty items to buy.
