Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi bloggers!  It is finally time once again to give away a card!  It seems like absolutely ages since I have done this (I'm not counting the orphans!)  If you want to be in the drawing for today's card, just leave a comment on the post today.  I'll announce the winner on Saturday's post.   For this one, it is back to the Crisscross background die as it is so lovely!  I have cut the background in coconut white card and then extended it a bit to create a more square background.  I mounted it with foam for dimension over some blush card for a slight hint of colour coming from behind.  I matted it with some black card to help frame it. For the focal element, I stamped my sentiment in black archival ink, then decided to just emboss around it.  I used the Gold Facets die to do this with.  Once embossed, I inked very lightly over the area with Spun Sugar distress ink.  I matted it with thin mats of white and black to frame it and added it the centre of the card with mounting foam.  Using the pale pink and white felt from the Vintage felt pack, I made three small rolled flowers as accents.  I added them atop some white tulle and black jute twine in the corner of my focal element.  I finished the card with some flatback white pearls in the corners and around the edge of the background before adding my double white pierced mat layers.  The finished dimensions are 8 1/4" x 8 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  30. Morning dear Momma Sue and all Wilsonettes hope you are all feeling ok today. Just watched the video from yesterday and it was, as usual so helpful (1st time I think I've seen you use your anti static mat Sue) I reaaly MUST get those border dies with my gift voucher when I collect my Foundation card that my CE stockist is ordering for me : ) cant wait to use something different. I simply adore todays card, it looks so feminine and fresh, you could almost imagin a gentle orange blossom perfum rising from the delicate flowers, now Im thinking should I get the lattice die instead of the border dies ! Watch this space : )
Well, as nice as it is to get orders for our cards, boy oh boy OH BOY am I glad I've finished those 6 that had me losing sleep (makes a change from my joints keeping me awake) ! But as I walked into my craft shop - which may I add, added to my stress card delema as was closed for the past 15 days ! Not that I was counting as I rocked on the sofa with head in hands, chanting 'card for geeky scientist, card for geeky scientist) anyway, there in front of me was Sam Poole (not litterally you understand) but a Singles stamp with 2 bottles with poison etched onto it - Eureka, joy, a light bulb moment, there it was, the answer to my very last card from the order : ) but then I thought, for all us Wilsonettes that have relatives that just cant cook (on their own admission) who can laugh and joke about how rubbish their attempt at cooking is, this would be an ideal 'joke/comical' stamp to use as a very discreat background maybe or as Julia calls them 'messy' backgrounds ! So that's THAT is THAT 6 all done and ready to take to the next market for 'my lady' to collect, only thing is, I had an email to say she has more orders for me when she see's me ! Great - yes, but now Im preparing myself for more 'crazy' days rocking, when all I want are nice, pretty ORDINARY but beautiful cards to make - well, beggers cant be chooser's : )
So now I need to make a start on all the Valentine cards ready for the next fair at the end of the month, that is after a week in a darkened room !!!
Love to you Sue and all my lovely Wilsonettes.

  62. Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
Isn't that crisscross die wonderful the fact that you can extend with it to make it any size you want, brilliant. The felt flowers i just love as i think that the felt shows them of to perfection and makes them so real looking depending on the die that you use. The embossing die looks so nice with just that wee bit of colour added.
Steph i know just how you feel about the rocking back and forward wanting and waiting for your favourite show to be open. I'm glad that your lady is bringing you more orders as it shows just how much your talent is admired. If anything like me your terrified incase they are not what the person wants or that they don't like them, i haven't gotten over that hurdle yet. Take one at a time and you will do it in your own way( can't spell the posh word, sorry).
I made one of those A2 size cards...not for me, too teeny and not enough space to work on. Back to normal size for me.
Well another rotten, miserable day in Costa de Glenochil with day umpteen of rain, i hope that means that it is better where ever everyone else is, take care out there,
    Love and crafty hugs,
    Norah (Glenochil)

I have the original sraight lattice die but was unable to extend it as I found it to complicated with my limited brain power !! I most strongly agree with Linda Brock please, please, please would you consider doing these background cutting dies in your video demo's or as a tutorial on your blog as my big problem is trying to figure out how to extend the pattern and still leave a nice looking border around the edges so that I can use the whole piece of card. I have only used my die a couple of times and then abandoned it. Please help !!
I love everything about this card. Your felt flowers look great and I need to get some tulle to add to my cards.
