Sending Wishes

Buy from Joanna Sheen

Hi bloggers!  It is all about the stamping for today's card.  So many crafter's tell me that they aren't comfortable with stamping, but hopefully I can show just how easy it is!  Stamping really does allow you to include so many more techniques to your crafting arsenal (and it's fun too!)

Finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 7 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

What can I say, Other Than This Card is Just "Absolutely Fabulous" I really Love The Black and The Rust together, as I think Black really makes a card pop,
Using your Basket-weave Embossing Folder with The Rust Card really stands out, and the Stamps and Dies you have used are Fantastic, thank you for the tip re: the pencil, I have used the finest of the Pigma Micron Pens before which is Archival Ink, and I think you can definitely tell, so I will try a pencil!

Rocker blocks help if you are having troubles but once I got my confidence with stamping using those I have returned to using the flat acrylic blocks.

  38. Thanks for another great video, Sue, absolutely adore this card. Love the colours (have some of the terracotta card but not much left so am hoarding it!) It's the big stamps - well, one stamp tried - that I mess up on and not too brilliant at the small ones either - bin a lot and, much as I would love to have the matching sets, they are so expensive. However, now have basketweave folder and I CAN emboss!!

I must confess I am always looking at the flowers in your room when you are talking, the stocks today must smell so nice. But a question, is that a conservatory with pots of flowers in it or just a backdrop behind a make-believe window?? It all looks so nice anyway. Love from Jackie D

Great choices of dies used as they look so perfect together !! I really love the celebrations one stamp set to. I really need to get it !! I have the ginger and black cardstock. I think this is just such a great card for the men (without the bow and flower.) I am sure if I made this card I could add some other more manly embellishment instead. I really love those new antique style buttons and could maybe get away with a small bow. Like you said though an equally great card for a lady to.

just love today's card. The scrolling down the sides is perfect. That's what I have trouble with, lining up borders to look straight even if their not. Will watch the video later Sue, to see what tips you are giving us. Do Spellbinders decide they want to move house?. I bought the detailed scallops and used it twice. I went to use it yesterday and couldn't find it with all my Spellbinders. I had a tidy up of my craft room and put them altogether in one big box. I searched and searched last night to no avail. Happy Birthday wishes to Mr Lancashire and hope you get to celebrate when Steph is feeling better. Cameeli hope your interview goes well.

  105. AfternoonSue and all Wonderful fellow Wilsonettes.
Was thinking of you Cameeli hoping all went well and that nerves didnt get the better of you, also that, that 'devil's throat' didn't make your presentation any harder than they are ( Im sure Im not alone when I say Im totally curious what your dream job is) ? Hope its yours anyway my love.
Anon - no I cant. I fall deeply in love. This time has and is knocking me for 6 with the days events still playing and re-playing in my heart and mind. Im not coping at all.
Sue, what a truly amazing card, how strange that during the mid shots it looks tottally different in colour than the beautiful end result, or is it my screen ? A few video's back, you gave us a really excellent word of advise when mounting acrylic stamps to the block - turn the stamp design down and place the block onto the stamp, only our fab friend Sue could give such a tip, it works a treat, thank you so much. I have a fairly large rectangle stamp which is the guilding flakes cousin as each time I've wanted to use it, I cant get it lined up so I have 4 straight lines, hense, I've not used it for ages, but trying your method on other relatives of the guilding flakes in regards to acrylic stamps being as awkward, I have managed to line them up so any lines are straight by using your tip (saves on card loss too) I think I will always hold my breath when Im stamping, it does make me quite nervous, but the shaking hands, and the fear of my hands going numb just as I approach the card with the stamp doesn't help (I need to be as bolshy and confident with my hands and stamping as I was with those pesky flakes) !!!
Well, thats my lot for today, I hope those cricket pads are blinged up to the hilt with messy bows and swirly pearls and gems Heather, the MOST glam shin pads ever to be worn whilst die cutting (we'll see our Sue modelling a pair I have NO doubts) when we see her back with us on C&C for which has been FAR too long (C&C owe us TWO 2 hour shows) cancel all other brands, let us have a day of Sue and co along with ALL brands associated with our favourite team, thats what I say ladies.
    Im off now.
Hope to hear great news soon Cameel. And good luck for the drawer Saturday my friends.
    Hugs.

  109. Good evening Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
I'm Glad it was a video today as my pictures are not of rust and black but what looks like navy and shell pink, which would look nice as well. Watching the video made me think October and halloween with the colours. It's a lovely card Sue, but at the moment i have the black archival ink pad and that's it, so it might take a while somehow.
Happy Birthday Mr. Lancashire, i'm sorry you didn't have your faithful friend to help celebrate, but sending happy wishes to you anyway. And to Pearls' husband who celebrates his 65th birthday. I hope you both had a lovely meal out today and that you have many more happy days to come.
Well i got to play today as the nice man from the electricity board cut of the power so of course, nothing could get done, so i got some peace and quiet and made some wedding and baby cards, although i couldn't emboss, but got them done with just the last tiny bit to do. I remembered i couldn't emboss of course when i plugged in the heat gun and switched it on. Yes not only did i forget that it ran off electric, i forgot it twice and wondered why it wasn't working. It's been senior moments since i got up this morning pre shut down off power. Everyone else puts their milk in the fridge, me it was the coffee tin. At least they picked a good day to switch off the power as it was quite nice and the sun was definitely shining, which made a change.
I will see you all tomorrow hopefully,
    Love and crafty hugs

  121. Hi Sue
A beautiful card. I like the pencil tip as I'm not particularly consistent with stamping. Lovely layering and textures.

  124. Hi Sue

Loved the video, and loved the card. Would'nt it be lovely if we could have a video tutorial every day. It feels so personal, I get a cup of tea, or wine if it's later and set aside that time when I can totally relax and watch, rewind, or pause or watch again in your lovely workspace. ( I know it's a set but it looks lovely ).

Steph My heart goes out to you and I know how you feel. I lost two 4 pawed friends just before Christmas. I too find it hard to deal with as one was a total shock. I don't know if you will read this as it late, but I am thinking of you.

On a lighter note, I hope Mr Lancashire had a lovely day.

    Kind regards :-)
