Bless Your Heart

Hello bloggers!  I hope everyone is well rested and relaxed after a few days of holiday cheer!  I know that I am!  Today's card is a quick little number that uses the Vintage Alphabet Soup Background by Justrite Stamps.  I stamped it on black card with a clear Perfect Medium pad, then heat embossed it with black detail powder.  I cut an Elegant Labels Four frame out of periwinkle card and glued it to the stamped background.  I stamped the sentiment from the What Defines Us stamp set and cut it out with an oval die.  I used a blue felt tipped pen and dotted all around it to add some detail.  I matted it with Vintage Labels Five in periwinkle.  I added some detail to the focal element with the Vintage Bracket and Label die cut in coconut white card.  Using some of the blue felt from the Blossom felt pack, I made two small rolled flowers with flatback pearl centres.  I used the leaves from the Bitty Blossom die set as accents.  I matted the piece with a thin white mat then a black mat before adding the double white pierced mat. Flatback pearls in the corners and focal element were added as finishing touches.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 8" in size.

    morning Sue
For just a moment I thought I'd logged on to the wrong blog site!!
No ribbon - no bows - no stick pins and no dazzlers.
But then of course I realised that today's gift is just what I needed for my 'less is more' and 'simple and quick' boxes and of course it's Sue Wilson.
I just love the background stamp - it's one I've never seen before but isn't it just beautiful. Would be so useful on a child's card.
Will be trying to get some crafting done today as I've some bday cards that need attention quickly - so it's back to normal YEH YEH.

  23. Pretty card Never seen the background stamp and although it's very ornate & mature looking I don't think I'd use it as a background for an adult ... But is it too adult looking to use on a child's card? I'm in a bit of a conundrum with this. Each individual element is stunning though

  68. Hi Sue. Another really lovely card today !! I love the periwinkle blue and you have used the Elegant labels four frame- It was at the top of my wish list and hubby bought it for me for Christmas so I am well pleased !! I am afraid I do not really like the alphabet soup background stamp though so I would use another instead like maybe the justrite rose background stamp. ( It has become a favourite of mine.) I love your beautiful little felt flowers and your sentiment. I do not have any of the new vintage shapes so would probably stick with my old faithful justrite vintage labels four shape. ( Which I love !! )
I hope everyone had a good Christmas considering the bad weather and all the problems it caused.

As for the brussels, i'll pass if you don't mind. I am putting my family on a brussel sprout diet next year, the poor dog ( Berkeley ) got all the blame, she kept looking at me as if to say "it was'nt me mum it was them over there". It's a wonder you manage to delight us with your creations and still have time for family and friends, you're a marvel!

Today's creation is a delight and as I have most of the ingredients I can give it a try.

I'm in the middle of putting away all of the recent Christmas crafting stuff until I get it out again for next year. I don't seem to have used much but it is possible that I have used quite a lot - just bought more stuff again! Oh well, will try not to buy as much next year, but I say that every year don't I? The local craft shop had a great sale today and although I resisted the Christmas item - I did manage to buy loads of crafty stuff, can't resist a bargain eh!!

  103. BOO !
Well, I did come in this morning, shared a mince pie with Pam, but dont know where I went after that !!! I even remember thinking - Mrs W has a room full of full tummied piggies ! And I wrote it down too ! Mind you, the blog did seem to be playing up this morning, as I scrolled down Patricia H's comment showed at least 6 times along with Kitty's I think, so maybe it didn't post ! It wasn't the Pina Colada's honest !!!!
Yesterday is a blur, slept most of it, and when that happens it means Im not well. Im SO usually good at hiding when Im not feeling well (numerous masks ready to wear when neccessary) but when I sleep there's no hiding it from Mr Lancashire ! Poor guy, or was it relief ? When Im 'well' I spend most of the day in the little room crafting (then doze around 9pm) and on a day I feel we should be together, I sleep, but imagin the relief of a waffle free zone ! I too re-watched some Tool Shed this morning, dont quite feel up to crafting today, after a bad day with Crohns it leaves me drained and weak (mouth discounted) but had to get my craft kick from somewhere, and where could be better than the last show we watched with our 'leader' I so look forward to each card, and every morning they brighten my day, so thank you Sue. This coming year I hope to get more SB/JR etc toys which in turn will take my cards up a notch or two, and along with this magnificent blog how can I go wrong ? Apart from being with a group of wonderfull Wilsonettes as friends, I have another friend who can show me the way to making beautiful cards, what more can I ask for.
I got my prize today Sue. Thank you. Thank you so much. I felt I won a million pounds Im so appreciative of your kindness.
Well Im off now, but cant wait to see what tomorrow brings us.
    Sending love to all.
    Hugs.
