You Are Amazing

Hi guys!  A taupe, black and milk creation for today.  Back to the beautiful Filigree Delight die set for this one.  I cut three of them with the centre oval inserted out of taupe card.  I created a background out of milk card and my Basketweave embossing folder.  I glued the top and bottom edges of two of the Filigree Delight die cuts to the background.  The third one was turned in the opposite orientation.  Using a piece of black and tan grosgrain ribbon, I threaded it across so it was woven through the open areas on the die cuts.  I tucked the ends around the back of the card and secured them.  I tied a double bow and added it with glue dots to the side of the card.  I stamped my sentiment on milk card and cut it out with the oval in the Radiant Rectangles set.  I used the smaller decorative die with it also.  I cut the tag from the Filigree Delight set and nipped off the ends and added it to either side of my sentiment piece.  I mounted it with foam across the centre of my three dies.  I added a thin black mat before adding a double mat of taupe card with a pierced inner layer.  A few flatback cream pearls to the corners and it was complete.  Finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 10 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

    Hi Sue,
Such a beautiful card and I would do this for a male who should be VERY grateful to receive it. I think it's the embossed background which counterbalances the filigree as well as the colours used.
But I'd also do it for females in a different colour scheme.
How DO you come up with all these ideas?
Hope you had an uneventful but pleasant journey back.

  45. Good morning Sue,
Just wondering if you have a notepad at the side of your bed for when all your ideas that come to you in the middle of the night or do you just get up and try it while you remember? Either way you come up with some brilliant ideas using ONE die. I know the greeting die cut is from another set, but the main is just the one.....clever.
I love these A4 embossing folders that you have designed as it is wonderful to be able to get all your work embossed with no joining tell tale lines.
Hope you had a good journey back from the States and get well refreshed to be back on our screens soon. Some of us are having Sue Wilson withdrawal symptoms.

    morning Sue
I'm sorry to say not too sure about today's gift - I love the format and at first thought the back die was one whole piece until I started reading and looking closely. I really like the idea of the two dies side by side and the making of a buckle with the beautiful ribbon (I do love those particular ribbons).
It's the colour scheme that doesn't just ring the bell with me. I shall have a go at my version using different colours and see what happens.
Hope you are back home (UK side) and having a good sleep to ward off jet lag.

  70. Hi Sue. This is a lovely buckle card today !! I really love the colour scheme you have used. The basket weave background is great and the filigree delights look so Lacey and intricate. I love the radiant rectangle die centre and the colour of the ribbon I think is quite manly looking. I think you could get away with using some types of ribbon for a male card. I have used the blue and ivory stripped grosgrain ribbon on my Dads Father's Day card which has a nautical theme. The colours of the ribbon you have used are beautiful and the embellishments really finish this card beautifully. Happy crafting love Tres x x x

    Dear Sue
    Sorry this post is late.
This is an amazing card, so stunning to look at and must be Huge in real life as I can't imagine a card 10 1/2 ins long by 7ins odd.
When I first as this card I couldn't work out how you had made the decoration in the middle and it didn't reall click until I as the dimensions of the card! It looks awesome with the three filigree delight die cuts in taupe with the grosgrain ribbon going through the middle.

All in all a wonderful card.

Best wishes and apologies again for posting late
