Thank You

Hi bloggers!  This is one of those rare times that I have mixed my metallics.  Gold and silver on the same card, oh no, you say! LOL  Yes, I did do it, and I would do it again (I'm such a rebel, huh!)  I was just having a play with our new gilding waxes here and though it isn't easily spotted until you look at the close up, I used both the Pewter and the Enchanted Gold waxes on my border strip.  I started by cutting an aperture in my white card using the Elegant Labels Four die.  I then decided to use the die cut from the aperture and stamp it with my Floral Lace "Stamp to die for" (I think this one is my favourite).  Although it was designed to go with the gold labels Four die set, it still works quite well with this die set too.  I used a Clear Perfect Medium to stamp it with and I heat embossed with Silver Shine embossing powder.  I filled in the flowers with Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue then covered them with Rock Candy Dry Glitter.  Once they were dry, I added white flat back pearls to the centres.  I lined the back of the aperture with mounting foam and placed it on a piece of soft gold card that I had pierced the edges.  Next I cut a strip of silver card and embossed it with my Tapestry embossing folder.  I used the gilding waxes (Pewter and Enchanted Gold) across the top to give an old metal look to the piece. I mounted it on white and gold card and taped it in place under my focal element.  I used the sheer silver/gold double sided ribbon to tie a double bow.  I added it to the side and finished it with a pearl embellishment.  I stamped my sentiment (JustRite) and heat embossed it with gold powder then cut it out with one of the smaller dies in the Opulent Ovals set.  I used some Brushed Pewter Stain on a piece of cut 'n dry foam to highlight it while it was still in the die.  I mounted it with foam in the centre of my Elegant Labels Four.  Finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 7 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

    Dear Sue
This is a fab card Sue love the look of the gold and silver together it seems that being a rebel can pay off! I'm always avoiding it as it seems an unwritten rule that they are never put together but this card is great.
Love the elegant labels 4 in the centre with the floral lace stamp making a beautiful centrepiece with the sentiment on the opulent oval die cut card. I have the posy lace stamp, which i love, for labels thirty but not this stamp - it's no good I've got to get it now!
The gold and silver bow is just perfect for this card and sets it off wonderfully.

Hope you have good weather Sue, I've had hot weather today but in for heavy rain the next two days.

Thank you for your creativity you bring to us and for your infinite creativity,
    Best wishes from Katie-Louise Sweetlove
