Welcome Home

Hi bloggers,  I must confess to having too many favourites from these shows, but this one could top my list from the bunch.  I just love the wedgewood blue and white together, so fresh and bright.  I found this paper while in Florida this past trip and it was just so different, I instantly fell for it.  I covered it with a sticky sheet and beaded it right up!  I stamped my sentiment on white card and joined the two pieces with tape and wrapped my satin ribbon around at the join.  I tied a double bow, added a pearl embellishment and adhered it to the left side of my card.  I stamped the doorway scene from Heartfelt in black.  Rather than colouring the scene, I merely inked the edges of it with Stonewashed blue Adirondack ink.  I cut one of the Decorative Window dies from Heartfelt in white card.  I glued my window over my scene and trimmed away the excess card.  Now this window is not actually designed to fit this scene, however, you can easily pare the two if you just cover the edge lines with a few flowers!  I cut multiples of the two smallest Floret dies using the same decorative paper from my background.  I inked the cut outs with the matching stamps to give them more interest.  I used a stylus and a foam mat to give my flower dies a bit of shape.  Using two die cuts for each flower, I glued them together offsetting the petals and added a flatback pearl to each of the centres. I made several smaller white flowers using the tiny posy die from the Layered Posy die set.  These are absolutely great for that tiny floral embellishment you need from time to time, don't underestimate it!  I glued my decorated window onto my background and pierced the edge of white mat to finish my card.  Finished dimensions are 7" x 8" in size.

Now I have finally had a chance to get  everything caught up for the blog candy contest drawing!  Starting with THIRD place prize, the winner is..................................

  132. Absolutely love this card, Sue. It's one of my most favourites from the four day deal. Really sorry that the vintage florets sold out so quickly as I was really forward forward to seeing your take on these! Loved your tip on cutting them out first and then stamping after!
    Love and hugs,
