Just Because

Hi guys, happy Sunday morning!   That means a couple of things... usually a nice long lie in (hopefully),  comment game winners, and one more day until my shows (oh that's just me being excited, sorry! LOL)
I am really looking forward to the shows even if I have to be up at what I call "stupid o'clock" to get there in time for my 8am show.  I do want to say that I read on several of the comments about things being sold out already, but that is not true.  They don't load the stock quantities on too early so they just say sold out until they do.  Don't worry, everything is in stock at the moment!  My guess is that they will go on the system sometime later today so check back.  Okay now, on to the card.  Today's card uses one of the dies from the shows, yes it has been on several times, but I keep picking it because I LOVE IT!  I found this lovely springy paper while in Florida.  It's not the sort of thing that I would usually pick, but I just had to see what it looked like covered in micro beads, so that is exactly what I did here!  Next I cut three of the Heartfelt Creations Decorative Oval window out of coconut white card.  I nipped out the crossbar from the window in each of them, it is very easy to do.  I kept the middle one vertical and placed the two side dies horizontally.  I chose a strip of pale pink tulle netting to weave through the die cuts.  By the way, several people have commented recently about the tulle netting on my cards and Sam Poole is now stocking it in her online shop (see the right hand side of my blog) in an assortment of colours if you are looking for it.  It is very versatile to use on cards and gives great texture!  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with one of the Fancy Tags Two dies (a little tip, use wax paper with this one as it is very delicate and swirly so it will make it much easier to remove from the die).  I inked it very lightly (after I removed my wax paper) with Spun Sugar distress ink for just a hint of colour.  I added it atop the centre of my oval windows using some 3D foam.  For balance, I matted the piece in white and used Cosmic Shimmer white PVA glue dots around the edges.  This is a really long card.  I could have made it smaller by moving my windows together more, but I adore this shape.  I find it really interesting to do every once in awhile, makes a nice change from square or basic rectangle cards.  Finished dimensions are 5 1/2" x 11" in size.
Now, on to the comment game winners.  We had an extra qualifying post this week so there will be two lots of winners!  The comment game winners for the week are:  Bluebell!!!                            Michelle E!!!               Jan.Moogie!!!                              For the extra qualifying post of Sat. March 2nd, the winners are:   Maggie H!!!                                   Ali B!!!
Mell!!!                        Congratulations to all!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize!  One more quick note, I have noticed that there are several comments that are being left under the "anonymous" profile, don't forget to type your name at the end of the post so you can be included in the weekly drawing!  All for now, Sue x

    Morning Sue,
this card doesn't quite do it for me - it's the die I'm not overly fond of. However, background is great - where would you be without your beads?

  16. A very nice card, but admit, it´s not my die either, but ofccause we can´t always have a 100% agreement on all of them, then life would be soo sad, but I like the way you put it all together and the beads and the rest is awesome.
I´m so looking forward to the shows too and I really plan on watch as many of them as I possibly can this week he he. Can´t wait to see, what you have in your sleeves for us this time, so exited.

  47. Hi Sue, Another lovely card - I just can't resist roses - I fall for them every time. Love the great ideas you have. Such beautiful cards. Anyone would be proud to receive a card like this. When I first started making cards we could only get card from the local printers and had to use wrapping paper and lace edging. I can remember we thought it was great when fancy scissors and "peel offs" came on the market - how things have advanced.Really looking forward to your shows. Mary

A very bright and cheery card today sue!
I like all these other ladies am very much looking forward to your FDD shows, I will as always be emailing in.
I hope that there will be plenty of stock, purely for the fact that they don't let you demo anything that has sold out, the frustrating thing with that is that the hundreds of people that have bought the item would love to see it demonstrated! I also hope that you have a presenter that just let's you get on with crafting and doesn't waffle on pointlessly!!!!
Anyway rest up today and prepare for a whirlwind of a week! My guess is it will sell out really fast and you will be home and relaxing by Wednesday!

  135. I agree with you Sue, the background is a little too busy for me but when covered in microbeads it becomes subdued and the effect is lovely

As you know, I am a great fan of your microbeads

    Lovely card
