To My Forever Friend

Hello crafters!    Today's card is a real first for me.  I have never mixed white and offwhite on a card.  I tried originally to do this card with a cream on cream look and it didn't quite work so I started over and used white embossing powder and I really liked it, surprisingly.  Very shabby chic looking I think.  It is one of my favourites from the most recent batch of cards.  I started by stamping the Cupid background by Justrite stamps on a piece of milk card.  I used a clear perfect medium pad and then white embossing powder.  Once heat embossed, I cut it down in size and cut it into three equally sized panels.  I added mounting foam to the panels and adhered them to a slightly larger piece of milk card.  Next I stamped the frame for the "With Gratitude" set, also using a clear perfect medium pad and white embossing powder.  I used all three sizes of the Antique Tags One die and lined them up to cut three pieces.  I discarded the smallest size, then added mounting foam to the other two.  The smallest size had one layer of foam and the largest frame had three layers of foam so when put together, you get a recessed looking frame.  I stamped my sentiment on a separate piece of milk card and placed my frames over it, trimming away any excess card from my sentiment.  I mounted this piece in the centre of my card.  I wrapped a piece of seam binding around the card below it and added a bow that I spritzed with water and scrunched for a shabby chic look.  Using very small leftover bits of silky crush ribbon, I cut circles of varying sizes, none larger than an inch across.  Hold them in place over your craft mat using a pokey tool and heat them with your heat tool.  The edges will melt slightly causing them to pucker.  Layer up two or three of these to create your flowers.  I use a drop of Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue in the middle then hold them together with my pokey tool stuck into a foam mat.  Once they are dry, glue a flatback pearl in the centre to finish them.  I glued them into place cascading down my card.  I added a double mat of milk card and pierced the inner mat to complete my card.  what do you think, does white and milk work together for you?   Finished Dimensions are 6 1/2" x 7"

Now, the winner of the "Beaded Butterfly" card is.........

  11. Oh, I never thought of embossing with white on white but your card is fabulous so maybe I gotta try the "technique" on my own. It sure gives much detailed look on the plain white and you could play with it so many ways. Thanks for the inspiration. And of course I totally love the beautiful soft-looking flowers on your card.

Gd morning Sue, hope you're well and having a blast at CHA!!! The white embossing is really growing strong in me. I didn't realise how beautiful it is until you showed us. I guess I'm still not as adventurous as I thought I would be. I do hope I get the 'Wilson' bug...to be as adventurous and inventive like you! I love when you do the panel technique, teamed up with white embossing...a classy pretty card! Thank you Sue for this card. God bless you
