Present Tree

Hi bloggers!  After the whirlwind that was Ally Pally, I am jumping back in the saddle to get ready for the next set of shows that I am doing.  There is a Spellbinders POTD this evening, but Creative Expressions isn't doing those shows (I hope I still have a job demoing! LOL)  I do have three hours scheduled for Sunday the 30th.  I will be doing the tool shed from noon until 2pm and then an hour at 5pm.  I hope you will save your pennies for them as there are exciting new dies and the new A4 size embossibilities too on the shows.  I am very excited about these and have some lovely samples to show.  Don't forget to put it in your diaries.  I will give you a sneaky peek later on in the week.  For today's card, it is a really easy card which really doesn't need a detailed explanation.  I have simply used the small present from the Frosty Forms set, added the swirly bow from the set to it and created a Christmas tree of presents.  I used some of my favourite gold decorative card (which was purchased in Florida at Hobby Lobby), but it just looked like it would make lovely wrapping paper for my pressies.  The background was created using the Lattice embossing folder designed by Sam Poole.  These were supposed to have been on the last shows, but the stock did not arrive in time.  We will have them available very soon though if you are looking for it.  I added a small 3mm black pearl to each of the bow centres on the presents as an accent.  You can see these better in the close up below. I added a double bow at the bottom, tied from the satin edged frilly organza ribbon.  I added a fancy button from my stash to the centre.   I added some 5mm black pearls to the corners as an accent and pierced the edges to complete the card.  Great card if you have lots of scraps to use since those pressies don't take but a bite size piece of decorative card!  All for now, Sue x

Don't think you would ever lose your spot on C&C, you are just too popular Sue! I already have 2 of the A4 embossing folders and love them, no more trying to line up, so hope you will have some on the show that I don't have (nos 2 & 3). love Jean x

Have already got the A4 Dainty Dots folders - its lovely - think I will buy all A4 folders from now on.

Either you or Julia mentioned you can get a smaller set of plates for the GC - if so where from?... I think this would be handy when cutting small things like presents and bows etc.. Love the design of this card - simple yet so effective.

  35. What a fantastic card, just when I think I have all the dies I need, oh well I'll have to tell hubby its your fault again Sue!!!!. Look foraward to seeing you on the 30th.
NOTE TO SPELLBINDERS & C&C, doing shows without Sue demoing ( except when visiting mom) is NUTS. I only watch when Sue is on because I know Sue will show ways of using dies to get the most value out of them and her cards are always brilliant. It was watching Sue demo that got me started collecting the dies and purchasing a GC. So come on sort yourselves out and make sure that it is Sue that brings us spellbinder shows. ( rant over) Lol Lynne M

  133. Simple but effective Sue.

I've just purchased a Grand Calibur and was watching some shows today when it was mentioned that you need a white embossing plate for some of the other folders. I purchased the raspberry plate along with my machine but didn't realise I was going to need another plate for other folders. Can you please expalin this for me Sue? Thanks.
