Poinsettia Bauble

Hi bloggers!  I really wish you could see this card in person as it is just lush.  I found a piece of burgundy velvet paper at a stamp shop in Florida and that is what served as a starting point for this card.  I cut the largest of the new Christmas bauble 2012 dies and used the negative piece as an aperture for my velvet paper to show through. I embossed it with the Wild Poinsettia embossing folder for texture.   Admitedly this is the most simple of all the ornaments so it did need a bit of dressing up.  I thought it would look just spiffy with poinsettias cascading across it, so that is just what I did.  I decided to do a little twist on them and to help them show up a bit better axgainst the deep background colour.  I made my poinsettias out of a traditional deep red colour, but chose to do some leaves in milk coloured card (Yes, I know you will never find that combo in real life, but it's a card so I thought I could get away with it!)  I added some of our new flatback pearl embellishments to the centres of all the flowers.  I made another layer for my ornament to sit on, also out of embossed milk card.  I matted it with matching burgundy card to set it off.  I added a double bow tied from our satin/grosgrain ribbon in deep burgundy (I love this ribbon in this colour) and added one of the new pearl embellishments.  These will be available on the shows that I am doing on Aug. 21st for all of you that have emailed me asking where they can get them!  I added a bit of tulle netting behind my bow for a bit of dramatic flair too (from my craft stash).
This is a very easy card to make, just a bit time consuming because of all the poinsettias you need to cut (just for those really special friends at Christmas time, I think!)  I hope you like it as it is a bit more traditional than most of the ones that I have shown lately.  All for now, Sue x

  20. Morning Sue, This is a stunning card, it does look an easy card to do, but like you say, quite time consuming cutting all the same size poinsettia's out, but well worth the time. It is absolutely beautiful and the burgundy card looks stunning mixed with the milk card. Absolutely stunning. Looking forward to 21st on C&C. Lots of love from Patricia xx

  21. GM Sue I've been waiting for thsi one to appear on your blog and here it is! WOWEYYYYY! I hope C&C have taken large stocks of those pearl embellishments as I think there will be a scrum down for them - I can't wait to get my hands on some. I used my GC for the first time on Monday- I had previously been using the black and pink machine - you know the one!.. The GC is amazing - its hard to belive that something that feels so easy to turn the handle on cuts so cleanly. I am seiously impressed with it. worth every penny. Many thanks

Usually it's triggered by the fire displayed in the article I looked at. And on this post "Poinsettia Bauble". I was excited enough to post a commenta response ;-) I actually do have 2 questions for you if it's okay.
Is it just me or do some of these comments appear
like left by brain dead visitors? :-P And, if you are writing on
other online social sites, I would like to keep up with you.
Would you make a list every one of all your communal pages like your
