Greetings all! I having a bit of fun with the Holly Motifs and Accents today. This set has so much to offer in the way of versatility in their uses. You can snip off the holly pieces and completely change the feel to them. Or leave the holly pieces on and go head on with that Christmas feel as I have done here. I chose a colour scheme of green and cream and cut and matted a couple of different sized square pieces. For the focal element, I cut the holly motif out of the centre of the milk coloured card. I took out the fall away pieces, them taped the piece back into place from the back. I cut one of the accent pieces and turned it to create a different pattern. I stamped my sentiment in black and embossed then cut it out using the same accent piece. I inked it with Pine Needles while in the die. Once I removed it, I nipped away all but the centre section and mounted it on foam to complete my focal element. I cut four of the holly borders and cut them into sections. I interlocked the curly pieces so they would hold hands at the corners. I added flatback pearls to the corners and pierced the edges to finish the card. I think this one would look lovely with a red background too. All for now, Sue x
Morning Sue, now this card is right up my street. I love the way you have used the Holly dies, the mix of colours and the hint of pearls, simply stunning.

Good morning Sue,
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely design I especially like the white holly. Nice job as always.
An absolut stunning creation, and I think it would look great with almost any color behind it. I imidiately thought of gold or silverfoil behind it too, I´m sure that would look awesome, but also a burgundy would be perfect. It´s just sooooo beautiful and so well made once again, but wouldn´t expect anything less from you hun. I love it.

My eye was drawn first to the greens. Closer inspection had me dissecting and inspecting all the individual die cuts. Gorgeous in any color, but the green has my vote. So intricate and, as someone else said and took the word out of my mouth, very "baroque."
