Shades of Brown

Good morning blog friends!  I was having a look back through some of my cards and realised that I had completely forgotten this one!  I think it is a really nice card for a Monday morning (and from what I hear, a drab one at that!)  It is fairly straight forward, nothing tricky at all.  I used several patterned papers to create my background and I matted and layered them all in brown and black.  I apologise but I cannot recall the names of any of them as they were just out of my stash.  I stamped my sentiment on milk coloured card and inked around it with Antique linen.  I cut out the decorative oval window and removed the centre crossbar.  I glued it over the sentiment then trimmed around it to remove any excess milk card.  I added some 3D mounting foam and attached my focal element to the centre of the card.  I made several flowers for the floral spray in the corner.  I used the Spiral flower 3 and black glitter card for the centre flower.  I used another decorative card and the Bitty Blossoms dies for the rest of the flowers. I added some black tulle behind my floral spray.   I used the same card from the flowers  to cut two butterflies for the upper corner.  I finished the card with black rhinestone accent sprays.  I hope it brightens up your day a little bit.  All for now, Sue x

  155. Hi Sue, if it was your birthday I hope you've had a great one xx Card is lovely today, love the colours & the flower dies. Very nice! As for being a drab day, whatever happens rain or shine, everyday is a precious day in which you always see or it has something beautiful in it xx Love Karen xx
