Oh Christmas Tree

Hi guys!  Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree! Makes you feel like singing, doesn't it!  I love this pretty Christmas tree die, it's just so elegant.  I used the blue tissue paper faux silk technique to create the background for my card.  If you missed the directions for this, you can find them in the post dated June 22nd.  I added a strip of gold dotted paper for interest to my background.  I cut a Holly Accent borders and glued it to the right hand side of the card.  I tied a piece of gold silky crush ribbon around the card and tied a double bow and attached it with glue dots.   I cut a Holly motif out of gold card.  I cut the top half at the swirls on the sides and used it as an accent above my Christmas tree.  I cut one of the smaller motif pieces and cut it in half to create two large corner pieces. on the left side of the card.  I added some large half pearls to the Christmas tree as accents.  I pierced the edges as a final detail for the card.  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue I loved this card when you showed it on Create and Craft. I did not order the bundle from C and C because I had the baubles and snowflakes. I have managed to order the Christmas Tree card on pre-order from a stockist here and so am happy.

  175. Hi Sue,
Well now I cannot sing....... OOOhhh!! When you demo'd this card I was singing my head of and thought I know what I will be writing about when you show this card!! Ah Ha I thought....then I log in and you are singing it on the blog instead. Blow me down with a feather, I stopped singing instantly.......you beat me to it!! So I have a cheeky grin on my face instead!!
I adored the crushed silk effect the first time you showed it and it is still as beautiful now, especially so in that fabulous deep blue.
As you said on the show while doing the demo, this is a fairly simple card to do, but with your clever touches you have made it look like something that took hours. Very clever and so beautiful.
    All the best Linda
