Dave's Fav

Hi guys, this was Dave Bradford's favourite card from the shows so I am posting it today in his honour!  I have used the Lattice Motif die template for my focal element here, but I used the same technique as I used on yesterday's card.  Stamp your sentiment  on dark grey card then  coat your lattice die with perfect medium and align it over your sentiment and run it through the GC to transfer the ink to your card.  Using clear embossing powder, heat emboss it.  Cut out the shape and use it as the back piece for your focal element. Be sure to wipe your die off well, then cut another lattice motif in yellow card, mount with foam pieces atop your letter pressed one.  Cut the Moroccan border die twice with pale grey and twice with dark grey.  These dies will weave together quite nicely to create a cute two tone border for each side of the card.  Just use a few dots of clear Cosmic Shimmer glue to adhere the borders to your background.  I used a bit of ribbon from my stash for this one.  I cut several ribbon buckles from the yellow card and stacked them for depth. I then cut one from green card and cut away the petals and the ribbon buckle portion, leaving only the leaves and mounted it so it just peeks out from under the flower stack.  I didn't use it as a ribbon buckle per se, but rather it was intended as a bow embellishment.   I finished the card with the Cosmic Shimmer silver PVA glue dots to frame the card.  Thanks again for all your support, comments and emails.  I have been over the moon reading all of them.  I am hoping that the crazy schedule will slow down so I can catch up on blog candy and comment game winners.  Soon, I hope!  All for now, Sue x

  28. So as not to be a 'craft widow' :) I take a keen interest in my wifes crafting. As a demonstrator for our local Craft Shop 'Mountain Ash',she went as part of the 'team' to the 'Stitches' show last week. I was invited as a guest and for me, it was a great pleasure to not only meet Sue but get my photo with her :) (I'm a sucker for a Californian Bllonde :). I watch the IW and C&C demos Sue and the other crafters present, and have to agree with my wife, Sue's are some of the best and most elegant..I especially love the ones she did a time ago with Native American images. Great work keep it up, and I agree with your million fans here..a SW DVD is a MUST! :) Davy Tx

I love the spotty ribbon as well I have a lot of that in my stach but only ever use it on baby cards so no I will be getting that out more often.

  122. Good afternoon Sue,
Well here in S.Wales it is sunny and bright and it is so inspiring I am cleaning my office and making space for all my lovely new stash. Yes MY POTD ARRIVED!!! They are all so gorgeous and I am not trying to suck up (I seem to like that expression..lol!!) but your dies are so much better in real life. They are delicate yet bold enough to stand out. They are such well thought out designs and yet they are simple, easy flow shapes. I have thought of multiple uses for the little die already and I usually struggle with those. I can't wait to finish cleaning so I can play, play, play.
Can you tell how excited I am?!!
All I want now is the rest of my order (raspberry plate, pva's etc etc) so I can have a second dose of excitement. Not greedy am I..lol!!
Dave Bradford has wonderful taste. This card is lovely and such a clever use of the Morrocan border, will be trying that with other borders now. Thank you.
With your permission Sue, may I say to all those who don't understand 'The Holtz' (my nickname for Mr Tim), you really shouldn't put him down. He introduces fabulous products to the craft market that alot of us use and although his work is alittle dark to some, he, like our wonderful Sue, teaches us clever and innovative ways to use our stash to the fullest. If you read his books or even follow his videos etc, you will see why he is so loved.
I hope you are having a rest Sue and enjoying some sunshine.
    Hugs Linda

  128. Hi Sue, I'm feeling very under the weather today so reading your blog has helped to cheer me up. I love the card & have decided to give inking up the edges of my dies with embossing ink ago. Wasn't sure yesterday but seeing the technique again in the clear has made me think again. With Love & Light Theresa.H
